The Dream

Footsteps were heard within a corridor, its sound increasingly audible, reveberating across its metallic surfaces. A person of an unknown identity entered a chamber, and walked towards a row of pods, choosing at what seemed to be random. The pods' surfaces was white and cloudy, seemingly covered by a substance, its physical properties akin to dust. The person extended a hand, and wiped the pod's surface clean, revealing its transparent surface, but whatever was within it, its identity remained unknown. They bent down, and seemingly spoke to it, but their voice, was filled with static. Then, the vision, was suddenly filled with static, distorting it completely, and then-

It fractured. Intofragments, with undefinable quantity, impossible colours and details. Each one of them had incredibly vivid, separate visions etched on it, the fragments rapidly growing in quantity, some of them of irregular shapes, some of them of regular shapes. Then, there was nothing.

A void, formed from nowhere, devoid of everything that made up reality itself. Then, a bright light penetrated the void, revealing an unknown location, a crossroad that stretched into everything, its path, branching off towards a multitude of realities, yet it connected, to nothing at once. When was the crossroad made? Where was its location? 

Then, an indistinct voice could be heard, a voice that sounded familiar.
