1 {A new Beginning}

'It all started when I was alone in my room on my bed enjoying my lazy life while reading a new novel, and fantasizing of being a main character of a story, '

In one way, it did come true at that moment.

'The moment that changed my pitiful life forever, the moment I became the main character of my story, the moment I took control of my faith and was given the chance to fight against it or at least, that's what I felt.'

It was mid Morning in Nothnesst town, which was part of the Molna country that was located with the south of the country facing the sea and the East separated by the Simanakas mountain range.

Dan has just woken up, grabbed his phone and tablet, got off his bed and started his reading time, relaxing on a crappy old sofa that came with the apartment. As expected, the usual routine when he is off, and one of the few joys he found in life.

Little did he know that today marks a new beginning.

While Dan was enjoying his reading, something confusing happened that  will change that forever.

[Ding. Integration initialized]

Dan was instantly jolted awake from his focus.

"What? !!! "

'My undivided attention from the novel I was reading on my tablet, abruptly got pulled away by this weird and familiar sound'.

'I couldn't put my finger on whether I heard this in a game or was it from the imaginations I have from the novels I read.'

'At first I started looking around my room, looking for my phone that was on my right side of the bed to see if the sound came from a notification. But found nothing .'

'Then I looked back at my tablet , thinking it might have been some notification from a game or message that I might have received. But besides the pending notifications that I was too uninterested to look at, nothing new appeared.'

A baffling expression was shown on Dan's face.

'I thought it might have been my imagination from reading so many novels, so to make sure I didn't imagine it from the current novel that I was reading,  I went back to check the last paragraph if anywhere was written what I had just heard, "Ding. Integration initializing"  and that maybe my imagination got so good by this point that I could also fool myself from reality.'

Wouldn't that be something

After a couple of minutes, probably less, I couldn't find it written anywhere within the story, and it wouldn't make sense to just pop out of nowhere.

[Ding. Integration is delayed because of planer laws. Initial estimates suggest that the chaotic system will be fully integrated In 17.56.37 hrs.]

As Dan heard the noise again, It felt like an explosion of emotions was going through his body and mind.

This time He heard it perfectly. But there was no mechanical voice like it is usually described in the novels he read .

It felt empty, void like it came from a being that was living but was devoid of everything.

'I was shivering with excitement and happiness, I had goosebumps all over my body.'

'I was so happy that one of my deepest fantasies might have come true.

Stolen novel; please report.

Peeling myself from this mundane and simple existence, having all those flashes of memory of all those MCs in the novels that I have read and the adventurous life they explored.

And all the excitement that came with it, for the unknown, the future, and all that is to come.'

'I didn't care if it was dangerous and I didn't care how long it would last. All I cared about at that moment was how happy I was. '

'I know how lazy of a life I've lived and I didn't have ambition or passion  for anything besides reading and recently discovered that I would like to grow a food forest, but I haven't tried that out yet. I blame it all on the fact that I was in the wrong environment.'

'It took me ten minutes to calm myself and come back to reality from that euphoric-like wave of emotions that just washed over me. '

After finally calming down, Dan started to think more calmly.

'Can't let my emotions lead me astray, after all I've experienced the side-effects of that happening.'

'So after calming down I started thinking.'

'First of all I know my limits or to put it better I know myself, before this change or whatever this chaos system will bring with it after integrating with me.'

'I don't know if it's bad or good but I damn sure know that no matter what, I will be provided with an environment where I can finally feel free , or I hope that's the case and it's not my imagination triking me'

'First thing's first, it's 10 am and I still haven't taken a shower or eaten anything , so let's get that out of the way.'

Two hrs later after Dan was done with showering and going to get some groceries because, let's face it, his fridge was empty and his cupboards only had some pasta in there.

Dan got some eggs , potato, chicken and some supporting ingredients and cooked himself some mash potato with fried chicken and some scrambled eggs, one of his favorite dishes that he randomly came up with one evening because that's all he had and was too la….. let's say busy to go get something else.

'Hmm two hours passed so if … damn i should write it down.'

'Let's see if I remember correctly,  seventeen hours and fifty six minutes so that will leave us with fifteen hours and …. lets just total it up to sixteen and make a timer ten minutes ahead.'

'OK, so what can I do for the next sixteen hours?'

'Arghhh why am I so impatient, chaos system can't you integrate faster?.'

[Ding!: System's current functions and hosts current strength do not meet the requirements to shorten the time of integrating]

Appeared a transparent screen in front of his field of view

'What the…. Did it just respond to my query? This makes me more certain that this is real, I still can't drop the feeling that this might be a dream.'

'Hey system'

Dan thought to himself and said out loud but there was still no response.

"..."

'Why is there no response?Maybe I have to ask something that the system can provide an answer for.'

'I have to get used to the system's rules fast.'

'Let's see what I can ask you...OK let's make a list first before firing left and right.'

Three hours later after countless questions, Dan even went online and searched for questions that other protagonists would usually ask their systems in the novels that he read, but unfortunately for him this was real life not some novel where he would get lucky and have his answers right away..

But the only function Dan can access right now is the timer which he can leave as a transparent window anywhere in his peripheral vision area.

And the system didn't give him any good information or reply.

[11:49:22. Until integration with host complete]

'I received no answer to any question of mine from the system, it is not going to answer anything to me and I have to figure it all out, but my money is on the fact that it is not capable at the moment.'

'I still have twelve hours to go and now I am completely bored. I can't continue to read or play any game. So excited for this that I have no room for anything else. Patience is the key'

[Initializing Chaotic System]

At that moment Dan was already home and waiting with anticipation while surfing the net until the pop up appeared in front of his vision.

[Ding!]

[Host has been given access to the weakest functions of the Chaotic System]

Dan was surprised, he had a weird grin on his face.

At that moment he didn't know if he should feel happy or sad.

But that was only for a moment.

"System what functions are available to me"

"Oh wait, can i have an explanation about the chaotic system first"

[Ding!]

[You have two options]

[1. Figure out it all on yourself]

[2. Start tutorial]

'Is the system having a mood' Dan thought when he had the options.

But without a doubt he chose the tutorial option

"System i chose the second option"

Unfortunately for Dan he skipped out on a reward from the system by choosing the first option.

[Ding!]

[Tutorial option commencing]

[First, to start the chaotic system and to communicate with the chaotic system can be done mentally, instead of speaking aloud by yourself in public and looking like a fool]

For some reason Dan felt like the system was picking on him or had it in for him.

"Is it me or are you kinda of an ass to me"

[be quite and listen while the tutorial is ongoing]

"....fine"
