It had been almost two months since the raid on one of all for one’s old labs. As far as the heroes could tell it had been abandoned since his second defeat by All Might. This lab had been put into a form of long term storage. When the heroes had invaded several nomu had been awoken and promptly defeated by the restored powers of the former number one All Might. While not officially returning to the hero stage proper. He had volunteered himself as a test subject, for Eri’s regeneration quirk effects on one for all. While Eri hadn't been able to fix his grievous injuries. They had been able to fully restore his version of one for all’s power. Before doing the same to Izuku and since his wounds were nowhere near as bad as All Might she was even able to undo the worst of the damage done in the finally battle. Doing so unfortunately revealed that her power had a sort of recharge limit to it. Basically, the harder it was to fix something the harder it was to get that energy back. And restoring the power of both wielders of one for all meant she likely couldn't use it again anytime soon. But with two active one for all wielders and the removal of all for one from the world as a general threat. The world was looking at a shaky but bright era piece ahead of it. While things were still heavily up in the air as to what would happen next no one was willing to rock the boat at the moment.
Except there were fewer heroes and more villains but at the same time villains weren't exactly eager to raise a fuss. Laws of quirk usage and self-defense were being reevaluated and when you couldn't be sure if the person walking down the street was another villain. Or civilian or hero/vigilante out of costume. Or just someone carrying a support item or a gun as more than a few of them had found their way into the country during the whole hero villain war debacle. As such most large scale crimes had all but vanished. No one wanted to rob a bank when they weren't sure who was in the bank. Or was packing heat, support items or was also there to rob the bank. And even a lot of small time crime was ending up with the villain or hero or whatever in the hospital. The streets of the nation were essentially a Cold War at the moment between heroes’ villains, vigilantes, civilians and a small 5th faction that was trying to broker peace between the lot of them.
This group was made of a mix of all the groups working together. Just simply trying to keep the powder keg from blowing up. It wasn't surprising that U.A. was in the middle of the faction. The former hero All Might and his now very famous successor Izuku giving the relatively small faction the legitimacy to keep the larger ones in check. Even though most of the villains weren’t exactly welcome at the parlayed table. A lot of their members we're eager just to return to society and their families as soon as possible. And though it wasn’t likely, as the small mixed faction was the only group actively working to give them a route back well for a few of them anyways. The vigilantes needed to be disbanded, no one was doubting that but whether or not they ended up in a courtroom for crimes committed or joining the heroes who were undergoing huge reforms. Or just rejoining society along with the lesser villains, was a touchy subject to say the least. The hero section was in absolute shambles, the hero sociation was basically just gone after all was said and done. The 5th faction was currently setting up a loose committee of allied heroes to establish a new legal body to replace the old. The government wasn't too happy about that but considering the small army of trained superpowered individuals, not only angry with them but wanting to make sure they still got their paychecks they didn't have much of a say anymore. And between Nezu All Might Izuku and they very pissed off population. They were trying to fade into the background as much as possible, so they didn't find themselves replaced by the reforming hero society.
The legal powder keg everyone was sitting on mixed with the various smaller factions holding up the larger factions. Was only complicating factors even worse. So, while most people were just eager to get back to their day-to-day there was a growing group actively working with the school of U.A. to fix things. Most of which were still living in one of the fake cities owned by the school that had been hastily converted into housing projects for people to live in tell their homes were restored. Though the school was actively working to move these people into the actual city around the school.
Nezu was planning to try and take control of this group in hopes of breaking them into a civilian and hero version of the loosely dubbed the 5th faction down the road. In hopes of giving them even more legitimacy. But for the time being he had to put up with what the locals were calling UA city on the campus of his school.
This is where I found myself after the raid. I was one of the growing number of people being pulled out of all for one’s testing facilities. These facilities housed everything from partial nomu to what they were referring to as genetic quirk banks. People if you could still call them that who had been placed in medical comas and cryogenically frozen. They were used to house as many quirks as possible, the oldest of which was close to 100 years old at this point and that was just what had been found. The cryo banks were a unique and downright terrifying aspect of all for one's legacy that I found myself a part of. Biologically I’m likely 18 years old but on paper I’m 75 years old. My quirk had been rather valuable being a similar genetic lottery close to that of all for once himself. too impractical to be made of use but just close enough that he didn't want me running around out in the world. It would later be discovered that I and a few others were used to make semi stable versions of a copy of all for one’s own power. Creating things like 9 and the later quirk given to Shigaraki. Though only my genetics was used my actual quirk was again too impractical to be made use of. But when combined with the others genetic material and All for ones original quirk they were eventually able to make a full copy along with the improvements that would later make it into Shigaraki's version. Ironically a small part of my quirk was actually the thing that led to Shigaraki end. I haven't been given the full story but apparently it had helped amplify the consciousness trapped within the collected quirks. Though it was only a minor advantage. I was given some thanks for that when they woke me up and that helped me at least somewhat secure my place in a hero course class. I wasn't sure which yet as I was still catching up on current events. Thankfully math and science hadn't changed too much in my time away, so I was more or less equivalent in terms of schooling current events and so on with standing. The remedial courses I was taking with the other rescuers was helping with that though. The hero course that U.A had was being redone to help deal with the need for more an I quote training new heroic individuals.

The classes had not only been enlarged they had gone from being only A&B for each year up to f most of class 1B had been added into 1A what was left of it anyways. while many of the class had decided to continue their hero careers a few decided to be part of the group that wanted to reintegrate into the civilian sector as retired heroes. They were basically reserve soldiers in case things got bad again was my understanding, but they would no longer hold active hero license. Not that many could blame them after the stuff they've been through. And while they had tried to keep the majority of the previous hero courses together in one classroom. A few students had gotten moved into other groups to act as mentors. Of the 30 students now in class 2A I was the only one who wasn't in the original hero course I had no doubt this was the rats doing. Put the most villainous hero student candidate in a room with the most heroic students.
I wanted to be mad, but I couldn't blame him I had been under all for one’s thumb for a long time. It didn’t help the fact my power was somewhat similar
“OK students I know you're eager to get back to a sense of normality. And I know many of you are likely missing friends from your previous class or coming to terms with your new classmates. But I need to make a small introduction even if most of you know each other from the previous year we do have a new student joining us. Now please come in and introduce yourself.” Aizawa said in his tired drawl, and I figured that was my cue.
I had seen photos on the school's website of their previous classrooms, but the update was something else it was closer to a miniature college auditorium than it was a regular high school classroom. With raised rows of seating and a small stage like area where the teacher stood complete with a massive smart screen set up like a whiteboard. And if my guess was right, the little devices hanging from the ceiling were likely holographic projectors. I had to swallow back my instinct to fiddle with the new tech as I stepped up onto the stage. I had always been a bit of a gadget junkie, and I couldn't wait to check out the support department later.
“Hello I'm Lily Okada. I'm a former captive of all for one I'm 18 going on 76 thanks to all for one keeping me on cryo for a bunch of years. So, I'm a little bit of a fish out of water at the moment so don't mind me if I say or do something a little awkward answer. As for my quirk, it's called Vore. And before I go into detail I I'd like to specify that it has already undergone extensive testing and informational gathering beforehand and has been declared safe. So allow me to fully explain it before making any quick judgments on it. Vore was one of the quirks that was used to help make all for one's copy of his own quirk so it's in the similar vein of his own. The Main difference is my quirk is closer to a copy quirk that for lack of a better explanation functions by eating people. Please keep in mind it's not a permanent thing. I can only hold on to someone's power for as long as I am conscious the moment I release the power or can no longer hold on to it the person is automatically reformed. I have no control over that process, and they are reformed in a quote un quote prime state. Meaning recent injuries ones that haven't had time to heal can be reversed any issues such as poisonings minor medical issues such as being sick or fatigued or so on are also undone. They simply come to as if waking up from a particularly long nap feeling well rested and in good shape. Upon consuming someone I can copy or even hybridize their quirks if I consume multiple of them. Again, like I said it may ha’s some negative annotations but the people I consume are in no great threat. There are a few minor aspects to go into, but I don't wanna waste too much of the classes time and we can discuss those if they come up later. But yeah, just know I'll be joining you from now on and I look forward to working with all of you.” As if on cue my traitorous stomach let out a low growl.
The damn nutrient paste and appetite suppressants they had me on were enough to get through the day by day, but it didn't change the fact I was constantly hungry unless I had an actual meal. And there weren't many people lining up to volunteer for that even if I did bring them back afterwards. I simply blushed and took my seat as a class gave me awkward side eye looks thankfully Aizawa came to my rescue.
“Now before we continue, I want to stress that principal Nezu himself oversaw and even went through the process of testing Lillys quirk. And while he says the process may not be pleasant it is safe so I expect you to treat young Lily like you would any other student.” Aizawa ordered sternly.
And I could already tell this was going to be more than an interesting first day back to school.
