The man made a gradual movement to open his eyes and focus on the warm gentle light in the room. Thus as he began to open his eyes and be more alert he found himself in a room that was excessively filled with what looked like relics from the old ages.
The room was filled with an air of agelessness, toss in oldness, and there were diam-braids with scenes of mythological characters and war hung on the walls. Along the wall were shelves with scrolls which gave the room a leafy yellow tint, and tables with soft old books and leather spines that contributed to the room's antiquity.
In the corner of the room there was an exquisite little mahogany desk on which lay numerous curios—a brass compass, a pair of dainty Chinese vases, and several grotesque little jars containing what appeared to be brightly-tinted magic powders.
The man slightly turned, to take the weight of his body off his left shoulder which was throbbing in pain. He looked down to realise that his wound had been covered with a rag that had been tied firmly around the site. The pain was still there, only now it was tolerable compared to the pain he had experienced earlier. Altogether it was a heavy rush and it was a relief to find he was still alive after all this.
Just then, a screen appeared before him, displaying a system message that read: "That's right host you are still alive": with evil laughter sign represented by an emoticon grinning evilly. Looking at the grin on the system, he felt anger and frustration in him. He had planned to be free from the system and the terrific messages it carried to him. His voice was getting louder as he said angrily, "You are a damned system, get away from me."
It is at that point that the call of a gentle voice came from outside the room. A sort of computerized voice asked softly: "Are you awake?" Forgetful and unable to comprehend the presence of the man who stood in front of him, he was stunned at the sound of the voice, "Yes mam, I am awake," was the hoarse reply he could muster.
Suddenly the noise of the door opening and a middle aged a woman walked in, she was holding another tray with some food. Her being was perhaps reassuring and that was what he needed because what he had seen was so chaotic.
She placed them on a nearby table and then started to organize neccessary plates and other utensils. The smell of food cooking was in the air and this drove him into rapture because his nose told him that the food was freshly cooked.Stunned and a little dizzy, the man looked into her eyes and managed to utter the words: "You saved my life?"

The woman looked at him with a smile of recognition and approvingly shook head. "Yes, I did," she softly answered and put in front of him a bowl of soup that was steaming and a slice of bread. She had very compassionate eyes and she was very calming and gentle to me.
He took the food with much appreciation with his hands slightly shaking. "Thank you," he said quietly so that his mother could not hear him. This is because the hostility that the man had been receiving from everyone was replaced by the woman's kindness.
"Hi how are you?" She said as she began to rise from the chair and asked politely "Have you eaten today?"
He shook his head. "No I have not taken any meal since morning. "
"Well then, make sure that you eat," she whispered softly. That's what she said, "You will be outside if you need anything."
As she left the room, he had to get up and follow her and asked her, "What is your name"?
Still with her back towards the door she stopped right on the threshold of entering. "It is nice to meet you," I said to her and she told me she was Nara before continuing to walk out. The man took a deep breath and whispered to himself, "I am glad I met her." He then started eating, relishing the warm feeling in his stomach that the food was giving him after the terrible experience he had gone through.
The act of eating was one of the pleasures which gave him a feeling of leading a normal life without disturbances.Contemplating on the events that led him to that position he found himself surrounded by so many things that were strange and frightening to him. Rather than feeling overwhelmed by the relentless pursuit, the terror of the chase, or even the bewildering look of the system, the presence of Nara felt so reassuring. He put his utensils down, glanced over the room once more, and actually saw the things that were in it for the first time. The old setting, the diffuse light that was coming in through the window, and the silence was so different from the mad, scary pursuit he had been witnessing. The room was like some sort of shelter where he tried to find the answers as to what went wrong.
As he went on to ponder about his predicament, he was comforted by some inner voice telling him that although he was in a world full of terror there was still hope and some measure of compassion left in this new weird world. But meeting Nara and getting her assistance was a rude awakening that not everybody in this world was out to kill. It is not too late for misunderstanding and, perhaps, to find the way back to the previous life. The man mustered all the strength within him and decided that he will try and gather more information to his present state and why he was brought here. He therefore wanted to know the mysteries of the system, the messages it sent and why he has lost his fortunes all of a sudden.
At the moment he felt he could only be glad that he could still get the simple things he needed and that people could be so kind. Lying back down on the bed, he could release a breath of relief feeling a small speck of relief among the confusion.
