When I got to the front entrance, Lyka looked at me curiousity.
"Jeffrey, what's with the look?"
"Nothing. Nothing. Just some things haha..."
"*Sigh* Whatever, but now that you are gold rank, let's get your card and take on some quests shall we?"
"Sure let's do it,"
I first went to the front desk to get my guild card. Anna immediately handed me a gold card with my basic stats on it with my name, race, age, rank, and monster kills. Anna also quickly gave me the rundown on my guild card.
"This can be your identification. While you were exempted from showing it by riding on the Duke's carriage, in any case that you are not riding a nobility carriage, showing this card can be your pass for any place that has an adventurer guild in it. No one cannot take your guild card as your own. Also, when you kill a monster that is related to the quest that you have taken, it will show on your guild card. When you rank up, give the front desk your guild card and we will change the plating for you. That is all. Your basic information are all there and if you have any questions please feel free to ask any guild employees near you,"
"That just sounded like a really good explanation to some insurance policy or something like that. I feel like I've been somehow scammed,"
"Insurance? Scammed?"
"Nothing nothing. Just talking to myself,"
Looking at Lyka next to me, she looked like her patience was just about done.
"Jeffrey, let's take a look at the quests!"
Lyka and I arrived at the quest board after she started dragging me there. We looked at all the gold and platinum quests for around 5 minutes until we found something that sounded interesting, but at our level.
Quest: Kill 50 Plague Wolves and collect their heart. Requirement: Platinum desired, but gold minimum.
Reward: 100 Gold

Deadline: By the end of this month
Quest Giver: Anonymous. Please leave the hearts to the front desk and I will personally retrieve it later.
We took the paper and gave it to Anna.
"Now Jeffrey, since this is your first quest, I will explain to you how this works. When you do not finish your quest by the deadline, you have failed the quest so you are going to pay double the said reward so for this quest specifically, you and Lyka are going to pay 200 gold to the guild. Obviously since you guys are in a party, it is pooled money and not individually. If you have enough failed quests, you will be demoted to a rank below. Any questions?"
I shaked my head.
"Good, then good luck to you and we hope to see you again,"
After Anna stopped talking, a notification ringed in my head.
Adventurer has taken the Quest: Kill 50 Plague Wolves and take its heart. EXP given for completed quest is 8000 EXP and in addition to the 100 gold that you will be sharing with your party, the system will also provide you with another 100 gold.
Lyka and I left the guild and I was preparing for the quest.
"Hey, Lyka, is there like a merchant guild here?"
"Yeah why?"
"Ok good. I was going to buy things needed to complete the quest so is it ok if you can guide me there?"
"Alright,"
After around 20 minutes, we arrived at the merchant guild. Already, the look of the guild was different. The adventurer guild looked like a pub while the merchant guild looked like an actual shop. Inside was floor and pillars that looked like they were made by marble or something and the place actually looked like the lobby of a headquarters for a big company. At the receptionist desk were two beautiful elves. While the elf I saw at the adventurer guild was pretty, she looked wild, but these two elves were the epitome of elegant elves shown in those mangas.
Lyka seeing me look at those elves with such focus pinched my waist.
"Oww! What was that for?" I asked her.
"Nothing," She said while pouting.
I rubbed my waist as I went to the front desk to sell and buy a couple of stuff.
One of the elf looked at me with a smile and started to greet me.
"Hello, my name is Amania and how can I help you today?"
"Wow even their manners are excellent. Ahem, I mean I have something I want to sell today. I want to see how much it is worth,"
I took out the Demon of the Forest I killed a while ago with the heart taken out. The elf looked at it and looked at me with shock.
"Is this the Demon of the Forest from the Forest of the Living?"
"Yes it is,"
"My goodness, this monster is a one of a kind. While many adventurers in the adventurer guild can defeat it, it is extremely hard to find it and it is also a waste of time to most adventurers that can 100% kill it, but to those who only have a 50-50 chance, the risks outweigh the rewards and they are not willing to kill it. So this right here, we will take everything for 1000 gold. Is there anything that was taken out?"
"I took out the heart for personal reasons,"
"The heart... Well, the heart is pretty much useless so we won't change the price. Will you sell this for 1000 gold?"
"Yes, and before you give me the gold, I would like to buy Castium and Seed of Wind if you have any,"
"The Seed of Wind is a bit rare so it will cost around 80 gold and for Castium, how much would you like?"
I did not know the answer to that.
'Navi, how much castium do I need to upgrade the Katana,'
'It's been a while since you called. Just a single ingot will do,'
"Just an ingot,"
"Alright then, an ingot of castium will cost around 120 gold. So your total gold will be 200 gold so we will give you 800 gold for you,"
"Alright,"
The elf quickly returned with a medium sized sack, a tiny seed with markings on it, and a ingot of a metal that looks similar to silver,"
"Alright here is everything. All the gold is in here and please come again,"
"Thank you,"
I left and Lyka started questioning me.
"What do you need Castium and a Seed of Wind for?"
"Nothing much, needed to enhance some stuff and this will do nicely,"
Lyka and I returned to the Wintercolt estate because Lyka would not let me go to an inn and when I even mentioned the word inn, she gave me a death stare.
When we went inside, I quickly went to my room to start on upgrading my Katana.
