Life has never been easy for any of us. Earth's pollution caused multiple chronical and deadly diseases. Males gradually became more sterile while females more often than not wouldn't survive giving birth. Most of mankind fought on this for us unknown alien battlefield of which most would never be seen again. We, as children, were left behind by our loved ones. Of course we couldn't blame them, we all would have done the same. We all would've run from this hellhole which we once called our home.
Sixteen long miserable years we had to survive. Why couldn't we be born in another time? Why couldn't we be born in another world? But we had to persist, we have to. The only thing keeping us from giving up all hope was that no matter how horrid the situation is on the other side, it couldn't possibly be worse than this.
I'll soon be able to leave this place. However, I don't feel glad at all. I'll have to separate from those who I've started seeing as my family. I hope nothing will happen to her, atleast not until she is able find that place where she can find happiness. It's not that I'm unable to stay, it's just that I don't know how much longer my already expended sanity will last. She wouldn't allow me to stay anyways.
