Well... what else could I have done in the moment that followed the appearance and disappearance of God in my room at 4 AM on a school night. I sat on my bed, confused, and mostly thinking of how the cookies my mom gave me earlier probably had drugs in them. Whatever the truth was, regardless of if that glowing humanoid shape really was God, or real in the first place, in five minutes I would find out. The way they worded the last part of what they said though made me a little scared to be honest, "why five minutes? I just wanted to spice it up a little this time." that was the part that scared me the most as I was recollecting my thoughts, the simple phrase "this time," could mean a lot of things, and if the power I'm supposedly gonna get in five minutes turns out to be real, that definitely implies the terrifying idea there are others that had a similar encounter, and I wanted that to both be the case and not at the same time.
As I was preparing myself to be unsurprised to see that it was just some strange cookies that summoned a hallucination of God to my room, a part of me was eager to see if it was real. And, as one might expect from a novel named, "My power is literally would you rather," it was very real.
Five minutes... finally... well, I didn't know exactly at which point the five minutes would end, or start, but I tried to keep a rough idea in my head once the glowing entity left my room, my rough idea gave me a good point of reference to place my suspense. And... instead of some crazy awakening or reality breaking evolution of strength and power, all that happened was a post-it note fell onto my face in the dark...
Really!?... Out of all the ways to go about gifting a reality shifting power... a post-it note?...(-_-) well at least God isn't as boring as I thought they'd be. I pulled out my phone from under my pillow and shone the soft light of my lock screen onto the blue colored post-it note, it read: "Didn't expect this huh? Well anyways the super cool power I granted you works essentially like a genie giving wishes to people, you start by asking someone a "would you rather," question and whatever answer they choose actually affects reality, anyways don't worry about how this post-it note somehow contains more text than would be normally possible with easily visible handwriting. Have fun ;) -God."
My facial expression was a confused mix that probably looked weird enough to pass as the face someone would make when having a seizure. It turns out that the crazy reality shifting power I got... was literally would you rather. I couldn't lie, I was very excited, and a lot of great ideas flooded my head as to how easily I could abuse this power to control people, and then I realized that I'm not actually I a psychopath so I decided to that I wouldn't do that. But regardless, this proved that my mom either pulled a very elaborate prank on me with spiked cookies and a post-it note that actually defies the laws of physics, or, the better alternative, I actually have the power the change reality now. And it would take a lot of convincing at the point I was currently at to tell me the first option was real.
And so, I sat gleefully all night in my room thinking of the first thing I should do to test my new power. Even though it's pretty much proved to me that I have this power now I still need to make sure, so just to be safe I should try something simple that no one but me would notice. I now had a plan set in motion to prove that my power was real, all though it was kind of a stupid plan at face value, it would definitively prove that this was all real and that my current life has a chance to change.

My whole life I've never really been one to act too positive or happy all the time, I was just mostly melancholy, or chill, and by that, I didn't outwardly show when I was happy much, but today was a big exception, I woke up, on four hours of sleep from thinking too much last night, with a visible grin on my face, and my whole family was definitely shocked to see me so actively happy, and who could blame me? I had the ability to do anything now, I just felt so... free! I felt unstoppable, well, that is until I got to the doors of my school and was hit with a wave of anxiety that was strong enough to knock out most of that feeling I got from the realization I might have a reality shifting power. In short, this place sucked so much even with the understanding that I could probably shift literal reality, I was anxious to be there.
"Hey Proxy!" I felt a very painful but probably intended as playful punch hit my lower back as my definitely not toxic friend Rowan came up from behind me.
"Oh-... hey man, how's it goin'?" As I responded I grimaced a little, looking away uncomfortably. I really hated interactions with Rowan, it's not like he wasn't a good person sometimes, it's just that most of the interactions I had with him ended with an extra bruise being added to my collection, for some reason, he physically couldn't help but get physical with anyone he came into forced contact with. And once you acted slightly friendly with him once, it was a losing game from there.
"You look so tired when I'm around you, are you okay dude?" Rowan nudged me on the back of the head to make sure I heard.
"Yeah I'm fine it's just...-" My voice trailed off as I saw a perfectly golden opportunity show itself in front of me. This was the perfect time to use test my power, to be honest I was glad that my power came in the format of a would you rather question because I can essentially do it all of the time without it being that suspicious.
"Hey, I just thought of something..." I looked up at Rowan to get his attention, trying to fake my best "good friend," impression. This worked very easily.
"What?"
It was finally time to test my power out, "Would you rather make ten dollars appear in my room right now or have me give you two dollars right now?"
To be fair, it wasn't the best question to ask him but in the moment it's all I could think of that would work with him.
"The first one, two bucks is nothing, and anyways, you could just give me half of the money anyways since I made it appear in your room, it's a win-win." I completely ignored what he said and had one thought and one thought alone, 'mission accomplished." if it was as simple as making someone answer a question like that, then this would be so much easier to use than a lot of other powers I could have been given. this was perfect.
The feeling of freedom and power came back to me for a moment, and then once again I realized where I was and who I was with.
"Anyways it was nice talking with you man I just remembered I have to go somewhere really important right now, bye!" Before I could hear his response I sprinted my way through the crowded commons of my school until Rowan was out of sight. This was proving to be the spark I needed to start a string of events that would have a long lasting impact on my world.
