CHAPTER 3
CROW GOING OUT
1 week after the talk with Erica, I somehow can read few words. Erica also teaching some common sense in this world and other things.
First, the world has many flying island, all species live together no discrimination. Country or cities being founded on flying island. So most of people live on flying island. Territory of those country are chained together. It means they brought flying island together and chained them to ascertain their territory, war? Happened before, now all of the country declaring peace in afraid of monster attack. Some of monster can fly. The flying island don't move anywhere, but can be moved.
Second, the continent below us not live able because enormous number of monster living there. Adventurer often go below to hunt the monster, the material gained from the monster are being made into weapon (Monster hunter?).
Third, There's a group of people living below, most of them didn't affiliated with any country.
That's the main thing. The others are this city called
Erica father is one of noble in this city. One city governed by 3 noble they have the same position that's baron, should problem arise they are the one responsible. CaitSith is part of
‘Hey Erica, I want go to town do you want to come too?’
“Oh! That's good, I thought you don't want to go outside. I'm going!”

Erica holding her hands out, I flying and sit there. Then she walking to outside, order the servants to bring the carriage out. Then we ride the carriage and stopped in middle of town. We get out from carriage, and walking the street other servants are following behind. What we walk is commoner district, since noble district only consist of nobles house and nothing more. In here commoner street there are many street stalls and shop.
‘Erica, I want go to the guild’
“What kind of guild?”
‘Huh? How many guild here?’
“Hmm, it's 3 I think. It's adventurer guild for combat, merchant guild for trading, craftsman guild for production”
‘I see, I certainly want to see craftsman guild first’
“Nn! Okay.”
Erica nodding, we might be talking, but to other people it's only seen as Erica is the only one talking and to a bird at that. Some people saw Erica with pity expression, other are gossiping.
‘Erica, please don't talk to me when we are not alone or else others will think you are weird.’
“Ok”
Erica answer with low voice.
We walk to craftsman guild, the guild is so big more than Erica house. There are many chimney on guild roof, sound of hammering can be heard.
‘Erica, is the craftsman guild only a blacksmith?’
Erica didn't reply but calling one of her servants behind.
“You, explain what you know about the guild including other two”
“Yes,…..”
The servant began to explain, the craftsman guild is divided to blacksmith, tailor, alchemist, cook, carpenter, sculptor, painter.
Merchant guild is divided by rank gold, silver, and copper, every of them are trading but the scale between rank is different.
Adventurer guild divided by rank from highest are X, S, A, B, C, D, E, F, G. client make a request then adventurer is the one doing the quest, the difficulty of request determined by the guild, you only can accept the request if your rank is same as the request or higher.
That’s the basic knowledge about the guild, for more information I must go to the guild and that is impossible for me.
‘Erica did you have skill in craftsmanship?’
Erica answer in low voice.
“Uhh~, Kuro-chan you meanie. I didn't have skill in craftsmanship”
‘Then can you fight like an adventurer and trading like a merchant’
“I can't either.”
‘So you're just useless ojou-same huh… Oh shit I said out loud!’
“Kuurooo-chan? No food for you today!”

“No, or do you want to be put in cage for 3 days with no dinner?, since you can hold for one week you will not die.”

Heck she's tall for 12 years old girl, now that I think most of westerner are really tall not only the men but women too. Also that butler from before is lolicon huh, the world sure is dangerous.

We walk inside only two of us, inside of guild is spacious. There are also shop in here, and many people buying tools, clothes and any other things. Isn't this seems more like a mall than a guild, but in distance I see some uhm… Alchemist workshop since there are many vial containing liquid, I didn't see any blacksmith, but the tools make by blacksmith certainly on sale.

‘Erica, can you become apprentice in this place?’
“Yes, you can choose as many as you want too, but some craftsman didn't want to take any apprentice, oh and you can only choose two at most.”
‘Why two?’
“It's the guild rule, the reason is to prevent complain from craftsman it seems and I think it's to combine the skill, like cook with some herb knowledge from alchemist with cook as main and alchemist as sub, or tailor with iron plating knowledge from blacksmith or sculptor with paint skill from painter.”
‘Oh, I guess they want to gain profit too in case of preventing complain. Also they are smart to think of combining two job with one as main job and other as sub job’
“Well, that's the gist of it”
We continue to walking around to every workshop, the workshop with most people are blacksmith, tailor, and carpenter. The most miserable are sculptor and painter not up two digit, ahaha since sculpture and painting only can be enjoyed by rich people no many people want to take this job. As for cook and alchemy, only average number of people. Maybe the reason for only average number of people are alchemy is really hard to study or alchemist afraid their work used in wrong way, as for cook well I guess it's only for single guy living alone out there, Ahahaha. Why did I laughing at them, I'm single too.
‘Hey Erica, why don't you become apprentice cook?’
“Eh~, no, it's troublesome”
‘Then how about become sculptor or painter?’
“No”
‘Then tailor?’
“Why did you keep asking me about that?”
‘You see Erica, if you become sculptor or painter you can make a sculpture of me or paint my looks or become cook and cook for me, become tailor make a clothes for me’

Alchemist workshop, the truth I don't know anything about alchemist except they make potion let's ask Erica later. Erica walk inside and seems searching for someone.
“Where is he?”
‘Hm? Who?’
“Old man Terios, he is the best alchemist here, and the one rejected me before.”
‘Why don't you learn from other alchemist?’
“Since I want to learn it must be from the best”
‘I see, really ojou-sama huh.’
Erica walking more deeper inside guild. Then she stopped on one workshop.
“This is it, but why is it so broken down?”
Something didn't seem right.
‘Erica, you wait here. I will go inside’
Not waiting for her reply I fly into the workshop, inside the workshop is a mess, books were thrown on the floor, paper, wine bottle, all scattered on the floor. And someone sleeping in the table with messy hair and unshaved beard. Ahh, this man is no good. I fly out from workshop.
‘Erica, there's one man sleeping inside, is it him?’
“Who knows? I haven't seen his face yet.”
‘Oh, right let's go inside.’
We walk inside with me still flying.
“Ugh.. So many dust, and it's smelly”
‘There Erica, there's the man’
“Oh, there he is old man Terios, hey old man!”

‘No reply huh’
“Hey old man! Wake up! Wake up!!”
“What? ….So no..isy?”
“Hey, don't sleep again!”
Erica kick the old man feet.
“That's hurt! Who are you? If you come to be apprentice I don't accept go away!”
“Look Kuro-chan I haven't ask yet, and rejected first!”
‘Ahaha..’
“What you still here? Get out of here!”
‘Let's get out of here, why don't you learn from other alchemist?’
“I don't want to learn from other than him, they are just con artist”
‘Con artist?’
“Those people acting all high mighty, because they only know how to concoct potion. Sometimes they will sell fake things to you.”
‘You're surprisingly knowledgeable’
“Kuro-chan…What do you mean by that?”
‘It's mean you're really smart’
“Of course! Back to topic, that old man are not like that before. I wonder what happen to him?”
‘Why don't we ask the guild receptionist or other people in guild’
We walk to guild entrance and see some receptionist, the receptionist is young woman in her twenties.
“Hey”
“Yes, what can I do for you?”
“Do you know what happen to old man Terios?”
“Terios? Ahh, that old man. 3 years ago he received a letter from his son, saying he's coming back. But unfortunate things happen when his son on his way back his airship got attacked by flying monster, you see his son is soldier and fought the monster, even though the monster were repelled the son lost his lives. Hearing that his wife become sick and died a month later.”
“I will try again”
Erica running to Terios workshop again with me on her hand.
“Old man!”
“What? You again? I don't accept apprentice, go home.”
“Huh, if you think you can chase me away like that, then you're wrong! Take me as your apprentice!”
“an ojou-sama like you should just stay at home and enjoy your life, no need to learn alchemy.”
“Guh…. I will make you take me as your apprentice!”
Erica walking out angrily.
“Kuro-chan let's go home.”
‘Uh, okay’
No, I cant defy her right now. When her mood is bad I must not make her angry, but when her mood is good, everything you ask will be granted. This is what I know of Erica personality from staying together one week. We walking out the guild heading to mansion, she too angry that she forgot to call carriage and walk all the way home, when she arrived she go to her bedroom as fast as possible.
“Kuro-chan what should I do to make him take me as apprentice?”
‘Eh? You didn't think of it?’
“No”
‘Jeez, Erica sometimes I really amazed by you.’

‘How about this…’
We talked our plan for him to take Erica as his apprentice. The planning session lasted until evening, and we decided to carry it tomorrow.
