My Monster Girlfriend Protects Me
Chapter 6: Revelations

Chapter 6: Revelations

Will was freaking out. Being transported to another world was one thing, but waking up next to a beautiful naked woman was another. He might not be complaining if he knew who she was, but he hadn’t seen her in the village. He definitely would have noticed a young woman with white hair and bunny ears…. Wait, bunny ears?

He examined her more closely. She did in fact have bunny ears. Will ran his fingers down the length of one, it was soft and warm to the touch. He reached the bottom, and the ears were indeed attached to the skull, not some sort of headband.

Apparently this was enough to wake her, as she yawned and turned to face him. Then he saw her eyes, her brilliant ruby red eyes. It couldn’t be her, could it?”

“Alice?” He asked tentatively.

“Good morning Master!” She said in a bright cheery voice.

Then she did the last thing that he expected. Alice rolled over on top of him, and before he knew what was happening, she was kissing him. Will could feel every curve of her body press into his as her weight and surprise kept him pinned. Her hands gripped the sides of his face, keeping their lips held together.

Then Will heard the sound of the door opening as someone came in.

“Hey Will, is Alice okay?” He heard Max’s voice.

She apparently only noticed them then, because she let out a shrill scream. Her parents must have heard this, because next, Will heard two pairs of footsteps running down the hall.

*

Will sat at the dining table with Alice next to him. Luckily Alice was no longer nude thanks to her being about the same size as Max, and Max possessing extra clothing. Max couldn’t even look at them without blushing down to her collarbone. Due to a combination of him sleeping in the buff, Alice having no clothes, and his earlier decision to flip off the bed covers, Max ended up getting quite the eyeful. Honestly Will was having trouble making eye contact with her as well.

Her parent’s on the other hand were having no such problems. They were staring down Will and like parents who had just caught their son with his girlfriend in his room. It was a look he hoped to never be on the receiving end of again. Will had just finished explaining the short events that led up to the current situation.

“So she just threw herself at you, you weren’t taking advantage of your power over her now that she’s a young lady?” Kat asked, giving him the harshest mom stare he had ever received.

“No, I don’t even know why she did it.” Will said honestly.

“Well, why don’t we ask Alice?” Filbert suggested.

Alice was unconcerned with the current proceedings. She was currently clinging to Will’s arm, snuggled up against him.

“Alice?” Filbert got her attention.

“Yes?” She responded, the total face of innocence.

“Why were you kissing Will this morning, did he tell you to?”

“Oh no, I kiss Master every time he wakes up.” She said matter-of-factly.

Will thought back to the last couple of days. When he had fallen unconscious, Alice had woken him up from that by licking him. It was the same when he woke up in the makeshift tent the day before. Though that time his entire face had been covered in slobber before he had been woken up.

“Alice, before you just licked me. Why did you use your lips this time?” He asked her.

“It just felt right in this new body.” She said with a shrug.

“So you are aware that you are in a new body?” Filbert asked. His parental attitude was replaced with a scholarly curiosity.

“Of course.” His question seemed to amuse her, “I’d have to be pretty dense to not notice a whole new body.”

“Fascinating. Tell me Alice, what is the oldest memory that you have?” Filbert was leaning forward in his seat now.

Alice sat and thought for a while.

“I remember waking up with Master passed out next to me, everything before that is kind of a blur.” she finally said

This seemed to confirm something in Filbert’s mind, “There were some tests done on monsters in the past. They wanted to determine if monsters possessed any intelligence or if they just acted out of instinct. The test concluded that the monsters possessed almost no short term memory below level fifteen and long term below level thirty. But Will, your class must have affected her mind to be able to serve you better. If you don’t mind me being rude, could you please tell me your class?”

“I don’t mind, given the circumstances,” Will said, hoping to get more information about it. “My class is Tamer.”

“Hmm,” he began absently scratching at his beard, “I don’t recall if I’ve heard of that class before, at least not while i was working for the guild. I apologize again for my rudeness, but could I see your stat sheet?”

“Dad!” “Filbert!”

Max and Kat both seemed shocked that he would ask to see someone's stat sheet. Their expressions were ones of shock, like he had just asked a woman if she was pregnant or just fat, loudly, in the middle of a crowded restaurant. With Kat’s earlier explanation, and their reaction, Will guessed that this was the height of rudeness.

Will considered for a moment. Based on what Kat had told him, it could be dangerous for him to share all his secrets. But then again, they had been nothing but kind to him, and Will needed all the information he could get. Decision made, he brought up his stat screen and sent it over like he had with his map before.

Filbert seemed surprised that Will had actually shared his stat page with him, but began studying it right away. It took him several minutes of silent contemplation before he finally dismissed the page.

“Well, it certainly is an interesting class to be sure, but your titles make things a bit complicated. Your damage output is low, so you'd need your tamed monster or other adventurers to be able to fight effectively, but you earn less rewards if you're in a party. But most importantly, Alice isn’t a puppet that you can control, you have to have a good relationship with her to give her any orders.”

That seemed to relax the others.

“But, what do I do now that Alice is a person?” Will asked, “I was going to head out to go join the Adventurer's guild today.”

“I think I have a solution.” Kat chimed in, “Why not have her join the guild with you?”

“Wait, would she be able to do that?” Max seemed skeptical of the idea.

“Oh that’s brilliant my darling.” Filbert started laughing.

"How could she join?" Will asked.

“When you sign up for the guild, they don’t ask for race, class, or anything else like that.” Kat explained, “They just confirm that you have a level. And if I’m not mistaken, Alice has an even level class than you possess, doesn't she?”

“She does, actually.” Will said.

Then a thought came to him. In all the chaos of the morning, Will had forgotten to look at a stat sheet. He berated himself for forgetting something so simple. He pulled up Alice's stats then.

So many things had changed, her race, her class, she actually had an age now, her stats had gone up by a massive amount, and she had a new skill and title to top it all off. Will focused on the title she had gained.

[Reborn- Your flesh has been forged anew, your stats are increased to reflect your new form.]

After confirming it was okay with Alice, who was still snuggled up against him, He shared the new revelations with eveyone.

“This is incredible!” Filbert was basically jumping up and down in his seat.

“What is it?” Will asked, Growing slightly concerned over the amount of energy Filbert was showing.

"I have a theory, so bare with me.” Filbert started to go into full-on professor mode, “There are several races that inhabit this world. Each race has their own stories on who created them. Humans were created by Baher, god of creation and innovation. The Elves were made by Iarane, goddess of nature and beauty. The Dwarves were crafted by Utar, God of the forge and masonry. Fairies were designed by Ione, goddess of magic and wisdom. The Bloodkin on the other hand were made by Elena, goddess of balance and order. And lastly we have Wyrgon, god of Dragons, who he created in his own image.”

“Dad, we all know this stuff, you learn it from the priests when you’re little.” Max complained.

“Well then, let’s see how much you remember Max, what happened after the creation of the races?”

Max sighed, “After the six ruler gods created the races, Malheious, god of the wilds and the hunt grew jealous of the creations of the other gods. So he made monsters, and his creations flooded the world, and slaughtered the Races. In retaliation, the gods sealed away Malheious, and created the dungeons. Because while they could not undo what another god had done, they could contain it.”

Max droned out her explanation like she had done it her whole life. While it seemed uninteresting to her, Will found all of this new information entirely fascinating.

“So what does any of that have to do with Alice turning into a person?” she asked her father.

“With those stories, and the new knowledge that a legendary item could turn a horned rabbit into one of the Bloodkin, that leads to a possible conclusion.” He said with a grin, “The Bloodkin were once monsters, changed by Elena to help combat the monster threat. Thus bringing balance to the world after Malheious let them loose.”

“The Bloodkin are some of the best Adventurer's of any race.” Kat said, “It’s not uncommon to see them outside their homeland fighting monsters, or in any cities that possess dungeons.”

“But that brings up another question.” Filbert seemed to have calmed down after his grand revelation, “What should Will do with the other two mandrakes?”

They all sat in quiet for a moment.

“Shouldn’t he just use them?” Max said.

Both her parents turned to her in surprise.

“Well if they really are an item created by a goddess, especially the goddess of balance, doesn’t that mean he has them for a reason?” She asked sheepishly.

Surprise passed over both their faces.

“I think you may have a point Max.” Kat said.

‘Yes,” FIlbert agreed, “it only stands to reason that as Will levels up, he’ll be able to tame a greater number of beasts, and thus have more chances to use the mandrakes.”

“Alright, so we have a plan.” Kat clapped her hands, “Will and Alice shall go to the city of Bleakwind, join the Adventurer's guild, tame more monsters, and fulfill whatever the goddess' will is.

"Also it might not not hurt to go to the homeland of the Bloodkin." Filbert said, "To visit a temple of Elena. She might even tell you what her plan is.”

“Wait, you can actually speak to deities?” Will asked surprised.

“Wow, you really must be from out in the boonies to not know this much.” Kat sighed, “Yes, the gods do speak to us mortals. While they speak to their clergy, to give guidance to them regularly, on rare occasions, they will speak to outsiders. I have a feeling that you will qualify.”

“With that all sorted out, there is only one thing left to do.” Max said, seemingly excited.

“What’s that?” Will asked.

She gave a mischievous smile.

“It’s time to go shopping.”
