Chapter 26 - Violation of Sanctity

Chapter 26

“What in ta world did you do?!”

The dwarf was yelling at me as I stepped back from the body on the ground.

“I just inserted a powerful magic stone into it. I was curious if it would work.”

He gave me a puzzled look. “Magic stone? Why ta heck did ya pull it outta your body?”

“It’s complicated. The real question is if it worked.”

We looked back at the white haired girl on the floor. It wasn’t moving at all. I wondered what was going on.

The dwarf sighed. “Well, I appreciate ya tryin but like I said earlier the problem is ta power-.”

His sentence was cut short as the body started to move.

“What…?”

The arms slowly twitched and the fingers began to move. Is the stone slowly trying to get used to the feeling?

Then the movements stopped and it was still.

“Did it fail?” I wondered aloud.

And without warning a thick black smoke began to pour out of the mouth and ears. That’s… probably not right?

“Ahhh!” The dwarf began to panic seeing his creation start to smoke.

“Let’s just take out the stone. That should stop it.”

*BAM!!!*

This text was taken from Royal Road. Help the author by reading the original version there.

Something flew by my face and lodged itself into the wall behind me. Is that an arm?

*BAM!!!*

*BAM!!!*

*BAM!!!*

Limbs are being shot of left and right! When they hit something, they explode into a sort of magical paste.

“Holy shit! Dat’s raw magic! It’s meltin da floor! Lady over here!”

We both run to a four legged table and knock it over. Vaulting over the top, we try to take cover behind it.

I peek around the side and see that the once human shaped girl is now just a smoking head and torso. That red liquid magic is oozing out of where the arms and legs should have been attached.

I look back over to the dwarf.

“Um… sorry?”

“Ta think that the stone ya used was too powerful. Haha, don’t sweat it lady. Instead we need ta figure out how ta stop it.”

Another noise was heard. It sounded like metal gears grinding and steam being blown. The dwarf’s face looked confused and shocked.

“Why the heck is that thing powering up?!”

Before I could ask, a loud voice boomed through the workshop.

“EXTERIOR UNIT ONLINE. ASSESSING DAMAGE. KAWAII CORE HAS BEEN VIOLATED. COMBAT PROTOCALS INITIATED.”

“That doesn’t sound good.”

“Dat’s the mech. Head honcho programmed it ta attack anything that damages the core body.”

“WHO DID THIS?! WHO TOUCHED THE LOLI AND VIOLATED THE SACRED OATH?!”

The armor started spouting something and the sounds of furniture and tools being smashed rang out.

“Is there any way to stop it?”

“Uh… destroy it I guess? Since we couldn’t power it, we gave up and only halfheartedly programmed em.”

I questioned whether they truly cared about these constructs.

“I’ll try to attack with magic. Hopefully this thing isn’t that strong.”

“Oi wait!”

I stood up and casted my magic at the armor.

“[Holy Smite]!”

A shining spear formed in my hand and launched forth. With this it should be over.

*PING*

The spear hit. It definitely hit. But then ricocheted off the armor and landed harmlessly on the ground with a clatter.

“SO IT WAS YOU HUH?”

The armor that resembled that of a knight’s turned to me and scoffed. I tried to put up a strong front but right now I was actually panicked. My only real attack spell failed splendidly.

The armor slowly approached and made the motion of cracking its knuckles… was that move even necessary?

“PLEASE ALLOW ME TO ADMINISTER SOME CULTURAL JUSTICE ON YOUR ASS.”

“Wh-what are you going to do?”

The armor stopped for a moment and then spread its arms wide. The breast plate opened up and long wire like things came out.

“I’VE BEEN EQUIPED WITH R18+ FUNCTIONS FOR THESE EXACT SITUATIONS!”

I didn’t understand its words, but something resounded deep within my heart…

I need to leave. Now.

The dwarf? He’s on his own. I will live for myself after all.

With no shred of hesitation I ran away as fast as I could.
