Prologue <Part 12>

Prologue <Part 12>

The two boys went to get dinner at the main camp with the other people.

All of the villagers were eating together while talking to each other.

But inside the main camp, Klann and his strategist, Allan, were standing in front of a great sword.

"You were able to catch him... I still couldn't believe it..."

"He's rusty. Peaceful life has made him weak, or it's just me who's too powerful."

Klann happily smile as if to enjoy the feeling of being able to defeat a legendary being.

The being was not the greatsword, but it's the owner of the greatsword.

"The Destroyer, he's a legendary traveller who wield an enormous power. Who could even think he's living in a small village like that?"

Allan was shocked when he met the person in the village chief's house before.

He knew about him, since he saw the Destroyer before, and the place where he saw was not a normal place.

It was at the king's palace, fifteen years ago.

"The Destroyer, you have save our kingdom from those filthy Orc's attack. We are in your debt."

The king called him to personally express his gratefulness to the Destroyer.

Listening to the king's speech, the Destroyer nonchalantly shrugged it off.

"I was happened to be on the border that time. Forgive me, but I have no intention to save the kingdom at that time."

Everyone in the palace were shocked by his answer. He could be ordered to be killed on the spot for his word.

Allan himself thought it was the Destroyer has a foul mouth, or he doesn't scared at all even in front of the king.

Then, he looked at the Destroyer one more time. In the middle of shouting and cursing by the audience, the Destroyer calmly gripped his greatsword and smiled ferociously.

"Hm? It seems I'm not accepted here? What do you think, my king?"

He acted as if he was the victim, but then, Allan realized it's just him playing along to get kicked out.

It was his aim all along.

Thinking that there's a man who's brave enough to play around and showing no respect toward the king...

Allan shudders at the presence of the man. He serve in the military for more than 30 years and the Destroyer was still at his 20's at that time.

(Yet, I couldn't deny the pressure he let out when the king became persistent...)

Right after the Destroyer asked, the king held his hand up.

Everyone obediently closed their mouth and looked at the king.

The king was looking at the Destroyer with eyes tainted with anger, but he still composed himself and speak to the Destroyer.

"Your arrogance is certainly unbearable. But, I have a big heart. That's why I will ask for you to be my commander. Take it as your chance to atone your ungraceful behavior."

The king expressed his willingness to take the Destroyer by lending out his hand.

Of course, it's not like the king wanted to shake hand with him.

But even after looking at the king's mood, the Destroyer didn't bow. Instead, he bited back harder than before.

"Really? If you called me arrogant, then what should everyone called you, my king? Ball of Pride?"

He mocked the king and laughed heartily.

No matter how you saw it, it was an act of madness.

(He must be losing his mind...)

That's what Allan thought at the Destroyer.

Of course, the king couldn't bear with the Destroyer's attitude anymore. He stood up from the throne and angrily shouted.

"You ungrateful barbarian! Guards! Take him out! I sentenced him with public execution!"

After the command was issued, guards were coming from behind the throne and from outside the palace.

The audience ran away quickly after the soldiers rushing in, including Allan.

He was certain that no matter how strong the Destroyer is, he couldn't win a fight with thousand of elite guards.

But then, he saw something that shouldn't be there at that situation.

(Why... why is he smiling..?!)

The Destroyer cracked his neck and swung around his greatsword.

He wasn't afraid nor intimidated by the number of his enemies.

With a big smile plastered on his face, he shout out his war cry towards the soldiers.

"Is this your choice? Well then... LET'S ENJOY THE FIGHT, SHALL WE?!"

He jumped and smashed his greatsword to the ground underneath him... and it was shattered to pieces by an explosion.

(Right... after that, half of the soldiers were died and not even a single one of them off without injury. The explosions that reverberate from the palace still shook me...)

Allan understood the strength of the Destroyer... or the man that currently called as Zel.

That's why he was exasperated when Klann greatly underestimating Zel.

One mistake and all of his effort to make this plan success will be lost.

Thankfully, Zel was not ready at all when they caught him not long ago. He was restrained easily with Klann's barrier.

(I wonder if he has something in his mind... Who knows what will he does later...)

Allan doesn't want to bet on a cracked bridge, so he decided to make his own path.

He went outside and issued commands to be in guard for Zel and any other villagers that has potential to rebel.

(I hope with this, everything can be over peacefully.)

Just as he felt relieved, Klann came over him and shouted.

"What are you doing?! Why are the soldiers going to their place?"

"It's for our own good, commander. We have to take precautions in case of failure."

"I will not fail. Do you not believe in my skill? Am I that weak in your eyes, huh?!"

Klann felt insulted by Allan's act. He won't let anyone degraded himself in his presence.

"No, it's not like that! I believe your strength is enough... but we know nothing about them. It is best to take-- Gha!!"

Allan was trying to explain, but he was kicked in the stomach even before he finished his sentence.

"I don't care about risk or anything! As long as I, the great Klann, in this place. None of those trashes shall leave in one piece!"

Klann madly laugh while Allan holding his aching stomach and sighed.

(God... why am I ordered to go with him...)
