Everyone is born with certain talents, traits or skills that they are good at.  And those talents can be read by a priest at birth, so that you can be guided down the path that best suits you, the path the gods have chosen for you. But not all people have such talents.  Michael was born with some of the worst talents your can have.  Though not technically crippled, the fact that all of his talent lies in perseverance means that he is destined to always be bad at everything, but to always keep trying. Then one day someone gives him a gift that changes his life forever: the regeneration ability of a troll.  With it his perseverance goes from impressive to ridiculous.  Now he will set out to always keep going, to push his body to the edge in a quest to surpass the one who helped him and to prove to everyone that even without talent you can become someone as long as you put in enough work.  Even if it isn't physically possible for most people to put in that much work.
