"Kid, you really want to die? I'm from the Tiger Gang!" The thug screamed in anger, the knife now dangerously close to Asher's face.
He dismissed the CCTV as inconsequential, confident that the owner of this place would likely be too frightened to report the incident, especially once he knew they were from a big gang.
Unlike those kids that Asher beat up, he was a legitimate member of the gang and could ask others to mess this place up.
"I would make your life a living hell if you keep messing with me," he added.
Asher didn't reply immediately; this was bigger than a normal brawl. If this drunk was really from a gang, beating the daylights out of him would only invite more trouble.
"Alright, but maybe you can just take three packs instead of nine. This would be deducted from my salary, and I'm really broke right now," Asher explained, finally giving up. He had to back down on this one.
"Why do I care ? Just give it to me ." He insisted.
Seeing that talking to this bunch of idiots was useless, Asher sighed and started putting the cigarettes in a plastic bag.
He handed it to them reluctantly. Along the way, they even grabbed some condoms, which turned out to be more expensive than the cigarettes.
It was fortunate that there were CCTV cameras in this place. Asher could explain to his boss that he was threatened that they would come back to vandalize the store if he fought back.
He hoped that the owner would understand.

After all, it would cost more if the store got destroyed. Additionally, Asher wouldn't be able to work for a while if something happened here. He might even have to quit because he would be targeted.
"I don't get paid enough to deal with these shit," he sighed and went back to sleep.

Twenty meters away from the convenience store, on top a building's roof, sat a beautiful girl. Her black hair flowed with the cold wind as she observed everything happening inside the store.
If Asher was there, he would recognize the girl as the same person who had come to the store previously. However, this time, something was different about her.
Her eyes were a different color now, it was blood red, and as she grinned, a cute fang appeared in her mouth, giving her an appearance akin to a vampire.
She no longer had the cold demeanor she had before; instead, it was replaced by a scary type of aura.
"What are you?" she mused aloud. She had come to the outer area to hide, but she did not expect to encounter Asher.
In her eyes, he was just an ordinary human, but she could sense something different about him.
'Why do you smell so nice?' she questioned herself.
This was the second time she had smelled this scent. The first time was around 1200 years ago, a time when these walls did not exist yet.
It was the same scent of the second strongest demon lord, Beelzebub.
She had a rare ability to detect people through their smell, or in her case, more like the scent of their blood.
That's why she was taken aback when she was walking alongside the road and caught a familiar scent. She checked out the store to see where that smell was coming from and was surprised to find it on a human.
'But that's impossible; I heard that Beelzebub died in the war against Lucifer,' she thought to herself.
'I need to make sure,' her eyes glowed brighter as she concentrated her power on her sight, eager to unravel the true nature of Asher. She anticipated something extraordinary. However--
"He's just a mere human, and on top of that, he doesn't even possess any core," she sighed with a disappointed expression.
The core she referred to was the essence of power for the demon clans. The absence of any core meant it was impossible for him to be a demon.
'Then why does he smell like him?' She touched her lips with curiosity, a sly smile forming as her interest in Asher deepened.
'I will test him out ,' she giggled, and then, like a ghost, she disappeared from the roof, blending in with the night.
