Epilogue

"Rose, please be careful!" Tess shouted as her daughter raced across the yard after her brother. RoseAnn's long blonde hair flowed behind her and her carmel colored eyes were full of joy. Tess smiled as she watched Rose's twin brother, Christian, take off across the yard, running away from his sister. He had thick brown hair and beautiful blue eyes.

"Caspian, move!" Tess laughed when she heard Silas stumble outside. He smiled as soon as Tess came into his sight. It made her duck her head in embarrassment. They had been married for four years now, but he gaze always softened when he looked at her. After the war, it had taken Silas almost a year to get used to being a human. It had taken a year for Silas to pull Tess out of grieving for her father. The war was over, but the memories still haunted her. Silas had forgiven her for tying him to a tree. She had told him how she had seen the future at the pool of water, him getting stabbed and dying. Christian, her father, had altered that vision when he took the stab. Tess glanced at her mother, who sat in the shade watching RoseAnn and Christian, a smile across her face. Today was the twins third birthday and the guests were getting ready to arrive. Tess continued to set up the table she was working on. Silas came to her side.

"I swear your cat is still trying to kill me."

"He is just trying to get you to like him." Tess laughed. When Silas and Tess bought their home, she had insisted on taking Caspian with them. Silas smirked.

"Sure." He watched the twins run around the yard, his eyes brimmed with happiness as he wrapped an arm around Tess's waist. Tess leaned up and kissed him softly.

"Eww!" RoseAnn exclaimed, pointing. Silas laughed and turned towards his daughter.

"You want one?" He asked and chased after her. RoseAnn giggled and ran away. There was a knock at the front door and Tess ran to answer it.

"Hello!" Diana exclaimed, reaching in to hug Tess. Tess smiled, hugging Diana back. She looked down at Diana's four year old daughter, Raven. She had looked just like her mother with hair as dark as her name. Her brown eyes shown with curiosity while she looked for RoseAnn.

"She's in the back yard." Tess said to the young girl. Raven looked at her mom for permission before taking off, looking for RoseAnn once more. Tess walked with Diana to the back yard. Christian walked over to Diana, smiling.

"My goodness, you've gotten big!" Diana exclaimed. Christian nodded before taking off. Tess watched as he picked a small clover and handed it to Raven. The girl took it, but wrinkled her nose.

"It smells funny." She complained. Tess laughed at the pair. Silas came back over to stand beside Tess.

"Where is Gad?" He asked, referring to Diana's husband.

"He had to fix something on the way here, he should be here-"

"Hello everyone!" Gad called in greeting. Silas shook the angels hand. Tess was happy that Diana and Gad still visited them, even though it was against the angelic laws. Both of their families had grown very close.

"Look." Tess whispered to Silas. She pointed to RoseAnn, petals surrounded the young girl, drifting through the air and bidding her to play. RoseAnn giggled with delight. Silas smiled.

"Gabriel." He said quietly. Tess sighed happily and rested her head against Silas's chest. She wouldn't trade what she had for anything in the world. Akbar would no longer be a problem and there could be contentment in her family. The world, even if it was corrupted, seemed to be at peace.
