Grusome death

Things got even more out of control by the fifth night when I again left many traps laid on the floors, and yet when I woke up the following day, there weren't any notes on my car, but this time, they were on the inside of my windows. Unlike in the past days, however, the message wasn't some address or order, but they all read, 'Don't you love me?'

That phrase sent chills down my spine as even an atheist like me couldn't refute the evidence anymore. None of my traps had been triggered this whole time, and yet the notes were still being delivered by some entity I couldn't see or hear from other than notes.

Could it be Beth's ghost that's haunting me? Why would she do that, though? Is she in pain, struggling to go into the afterlife because she has some sort of unresolved dilemma here on Earth? If so, could that be that she wants her murderer to die? The note from yesterday read, 'Kill him.'

The previous notes also only had one address on them, and it was all that guy's house and nothing else. The address never changed, and that note said 'Kill Him,' and now she is asking me if I still love her. "Of course, I love you, Beth; what kind of question is that?"

I can hear the front door slowly crack open as I finish my sentence, suddenly letting inside a chilling amount of cold air and fog. Still being cautious, I take that sound as a threat, so I slowly open my bedroom door just to see the front door open with a lady standing outside on the gravel road.

"Beth? Is that you? Beth!?" I can't control my emotions of panic, fear, and love all rushing through me as I take steps towards the motionless lady in the middle of the road when I suddenly hear loud hip-hop music blaring in the distance. Once close enough, I can see a big, gigantic, tank-like SUV heading straight for the woman.

"Beth, watch out! Beth!" I scream as I run as fast as possible toward her while the car seems to speed up once they see me running toward the motionless lady. "BETH! MOVE!" I continue to scream to the motionless lady in the middle of the road while sprinting as fast as I've ever done, but my efforts are for nothing as I see them get run over in the blink of an eye.

Once their body was turned around, I could finally see their face, and when I saw that, there was no doubt anymore. That motionless lady was Beth, and just like the first time, I failed to save her again. The large SUV soon stops in the middle of the road as a young man runs toward the crash scene, yelling.

"Holy shit! Holy shit! What do I do!?" The guy says while I watch in disbelief at what I am seeing. "Please call for help." The woman finally speaks for once as she bleeds out on the side of the curve, but instead of calling the cops, the man suddenly grabs a big rock.

What the hell was the guy doing?! I wondered as I continued to watch in horror how the man smashed Beth's head with the rock as she begged for help, even in her last moments before the entire scene vanished into thin air, and I came to a gruesome realization.

There was no doubt in my mind now everything was settled and as clear as day. Beth's ghost was haunting me because it had some unresolved business in this world. Her soul couldn't move on with that level of anger toward the guy that killed her. That sick bastard, how could he have watched her beg for help and still choose to kill them?

A light, soft, cold touch of air soon came from behind as a soft girl's voice spoke to me in my left ear. "I can't stop dying as a ghost, dear; I am in great pain." The voice said as I didn't dare to turn around, still choosing to keep my gaze straight ahead.

"What? What do you mean?" I finally mustered up the courage to ask a question to whoever was behind me, touching me with cold hands. "I died gruesomely, so as a ghost, I keep getting into car accidents all the time, every day. You have to help me. I am in pain."

The voice softened even more as the cold touch of the air suddenly felt warmer, and still, I refused to turn around. "Do you want me to kill him? Will that set your soul free!?" I ask back to the ghost behind me as they slowly start walking around me so I can finally see them.

"Yes, they are what's holding me here. I was still alive after the crash, but I saw something that kid didn't want anyone to see, so he took my life before the cops and the ambulances arrived." Beth's ghost says while I look at their ghost body, all bloodied and deformed, just like I remember seeing her at the morgue.

"Beth, even your soul looks tarnished. Will their death fix that, too?" I ask the lady figure as the morning sun rises. The sun, however, cuts my encounter with Beth as she doesn't seem able to stay in the rays of sunlight, quickly making her vanish into the fog.

"Beth! I do love you! Please! I will do anything for you!" I said back at the ghost as I felt a deep, heavy weight in my heart, suddenly feeling anger and sadness at the same time. If Beth's soul was in pain because of that killer, then I had no choice but to help her get rid of him, right?

Wouldn't any good husband help their wife even after death? What kind of person would I not want to help her move on? Beth was stuck on Earth because of that despicable man, so it only made sense to send him to his grave, right?
