Chapter One - The D-Day

Chapter One – The D-Day Have you ever had an uncle who speculates that the worst would ever happen? An uncle that would believe the world would end one day? Well, I had one who even made a bunker dedicated to an apocalypse. My name is Kim Jun-Woo and today is the 20th of November, 2045. I am going on a vacation to visit my childhood home where my uncle terrorized my life with several end-of-the-world trainings. My childhood was kinda messed up because of my uncle who taught me every day about the so-called upcoming apocalypse. In high school, I avoided everyone because of him and his obsessed psychopathic teachings. But once I enrolled in university, I decided to open up and make some friends. I vowed on never returning to that hell house but today, I am heading there with my friend, Yeon Songhwa. "Aren't we about to reach the address?" Yeon asked me while notifying the taxi driver to park. "What was in your mind that you were so spaced out?" Yeon asked as she pressed her soft, bouncy boobs on my shoulder. "Your blonde hair and blue eyes look mesmerizing from up here", I responded while sniffing her sweet smelling hair and skin. I was taller than Yeon and from up there, I could clearly see her blush. "Sorry to disturb you lovebirds but who is going to pay me?" The taxi driver interrupted their conversation. "Thank you", I responded while handing him the money. After paying for the ride, we decided to continue on foot to the house. The house was a bungalow with a small garden in front and a grassy yard at the back. There was even a porch in front with a wooden table and chair resting there. "Is this your home?" Yeon asked. "Yeah, it is exactly how I remember it", I said pushing back tears as both good and bad memories flooded my head. "Let's head in then", Yeon said turning the doorknob. I remember the time that Dad would help cut my black hair. And the time, Uncle tricked me to believe I had blue eyes when I had brown ones. Looking back now, I really missed home more than anything. "Be my guest and sit down. Let me get you some coffee", I said motioning Yeon to sit while I boiled some water in the kettle. "Thank you", Yeon replied while switching the television on to watch some cartoon. Some minutes later, the kettle began to whistle loudly and I went to check on it. "We wish to interrupt this program. Millions of people are scared as the world is shaking", A news reporter spoke on the television. "This is not any normal earthquake as the whole world is shaking not only South Korea", He continued. "Maya is on the ground to give up a view of the weird phenomenon that is occurring", He said as the camera changed to that of a woman looking at what seems to be a tear in the sky. People around are screaming that the world is ending and that the apocalypse is here. "Daniel, what I'm seeing here is something that can't be comprehended", Maya said stretching her head higher trying to get a better view. All of a sudden, a man fell lifeless on the ground. Maya ran to his aid nut out of nowhere, the man bit her hand off. *WAHHHH! Maya screamed. Her hand was bleeding profusely. The dead man had stood up and started to limp towards her. "Whatever you do, run and hide!" Maya said into the microphone and camera before running. … .. . Hearing the news, Yeon caught scared and started to freak out. "I didn't want to die yet. I haven't even lived my life to the fullest. I was planning to die at eighty years not twenty years", Yeon murmured as she paced back and front in the living room. "Calm down! You won't die, trust me", I said while hugging her in place. "What do you mean?" Yeon asked confused. "Follow me", I said while pulling her to my uncle's room in my home. Once there, I pushed his bed backwards revealing a hidden trap door. "Let's go", I said to her as I opened the trap door and climbed down a ladder with her. "Welcome to my uncle's underground bunker", I said proud. But what was I even proud of? The place was like a wooden shed. It was messed up and there was nothing even there. "We're so, so, so dead", Yeon panicked once again as she left the bunker. "Yeon, calm down" I comforted her. "I'll protect you. Trust me", I promised her. "Come and help me clean up the bunker", I told her while patting her head. [The host has been identified. Initiating protocols and finalizing permission. Bunker System is back online]
