The next morning, Elodie's car pulled up outside Sophie and Colby's new place. Sophie was rocking a laid-back, comfy outfit. As Elodie lowered her window, she caught sight of Colby tagging along behind Sophie. "Hey, I thought it was just gonna be us two," Elodie teased. "What's Mr. Colby doing here?"
"I'm playing bodyguard today," Colby replied with a grin.
"Bodyguard, huh?" Elodie gave him a once-over, noticing the outfit change. "Really committing to the role, I see."
Sophie chimed in, "Think of him as Griffin's company. The firm's been quiet lately, so everyone's got some time on their hands."
"Oh, really? But I heard there's still plenty for Mr. Colby to tackle at Costello Corporation. Aren't there meetings about future strategies he should be at?"
Sophie glanced over at Colby, who shrugged it off. "A virtual meeting's still a meeting," he said, unfazed.
In the end, Colby claimed the front seat while Sophie and Elodie settled in the back.
"Griffin, let's head to that spot we talked about earlier," Sophie instructed.
"Got it," Griffin nodded. Known for his hitman reputation, Griffin's driving was surprisingly smooth and skillful.
Sophie turned to Elodie, "So, where are we actually going today?"
"What do girls do best? Shopping, obviously," Elodie laughed.Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.
"Shopping?" Sophie looked a bit surprised.
"Yeah, I'm thinking about diving into the beauty biz," Elodie explained. "Let's kick it off with a full-body essential oil spa. I want to check out how you folks in Devonport do things."
"If you're curious about the beauty scene, I know just the place," Sophie offered.
"Oh, really? Where?" Elodie inquired.
Sophie directed Griffin, "Change of plans. Let's hit up Victoria Beauty Co."
"Victoria?" Griffin confirmed.
"Yep, it's one of the Mintons' beauty clinics. They're known for decent treatments, sky-high prices, and they're a bit with the high society crowd. I tried something there once, but not their top service. Let's see what all the fuss is about. Plus, Odie can pick up the tab; he owes me after all the changes I pushed through for the Mintons. A few grand is pocket change for him."
"You sure know how to work a deal. I love that about you," Elodie chuckled.
Elodie turned to Griffin, "Alright, let's roll to Victoria, just like Ms. Sophie said."
"Sure thing." Griffin responded, steering them toward the Victoria branch.
Soon, they arrived at Victoria's doorstep, where the staff had already lined up to welcome them.
As Sophie and Elodie stepped out of the car, the manager approached "Ms. Sophie, Ms. Elodie, Mr. Odie has arranged our special services for you both. We guarantee you enjoy yourselves."
"Enjoy ourselves?" Elodie raised an eyebrow, sensing something was up.
Meanwhile, Colby and Griffin had settled into the lobby, where a young, blushing server was bringing them tea. Rumor had it that wealthy folks always had good-looking bodyguards. en
But these two were next-level handsome!
The server offered, "Would you gentlemen like to check out our relaxation room and enjoy some services?"
Griffin, with a straight face, replied, "No, thanks. I'm not into people touching me."
