Silas now fully awake on the floor of his room, decorated with anime posters and MMA fighters
he pulls himself up with a handspring
Silas wasn't hurt from the fall from his bed onto the floor, in fact, he didn't feel it at all. Silas couldn't feel a lot of things unless it seriously hurt.
Lil bro walks up to his dresser and quickly changes into his school clothes (he puts his pants over his pajama because of the cold).
“HIJO!! VEN RÁPIDO”
His mom was awake too now only to make sure Silas went to school on time now.
Silas was a Mexican-American teen in America and was the average height of a sophomore, he doesn't train besides track meets and only then haftasses anything he does.
“Okie mom doesn't need to yell so loud, your gonna wake up the chickens again”
It was currently 5 in the morning, and the sun hadn't risen yet
Silas's mom didn't understand why he woke up so early but she didn't care, she was happy that even though school was 8 miles away she didn't have to drive him.
He liked walking so far to school before the sun rose. He thought it was special, his morning routine of gradually getting closer to school as the sun followed him.
After about 2 hours of walking, he was there. Willow Grove High School of Fine Arts.
Walking into school an hour early was also a morning routine for Silas, he liked walking up and down the usually busy halls and listening to the birds that were still stuck inside the school building. He wasn't great at school, but he wasn't horrible either. The school was indifferent to him.
“Silas wassup”
He nods his head up greeting a friend from his homeroom class
He knew enough people to be called popular and if you really thought about it he was, but Silas really did just talk to everyone like they were his friends.
Time went by and the sun kept on following him
“Silaaasssss,” said someone behind him in a whining tone
“Please just help me with this one Spanish assignment I swear that's it after this one”
It was homeroom, the teacher wasn't there so it was just a self-study period. Of course, no one actually studied but whatever it didn’t matter Silas like when he didn’t need to think.
“You want me to help you with Spanish because I'm Mexican?”
“yes”
“that’s racist I'm reporting you for harassment”

suddenly the girl with big hoop earrings and blond hair face drooped down
“WHAT?? WHERE BOTH HISPANIC??”
“then figure it out yourself”
as she walks disheartened back to her chair
Silas heard a whisper
“why couldn’t he just help me ugh”
it wasn’t strong enough to be someone around him, everyone that surrounded his table where on their phone or asleep but Ashlee dumb ass was already turned around
“What did you say?”
Ashlee whips around
“Nun ya”
“Nun ya what?”
“Nun ya biz-“
SMASH!
“oh shit the fuck was that”
Ashlee couldn’t finish her remark because of the loud crash outside
“it was probably the groundskeeper dropping a vase from the art department again”
Silas reasoned with Ashlee
“ya think?”
“most likely, that’s like his 3rd vase this week and it’s only Tuesday”
Groundskeeper Brown was known to be a clutz, despite the warning from the students the art teacher still had him pick up the sculptures and such to move into the storage room across campus.
“Hey Silas, you think Baekhyun is into art, that's why he came to our school?”
“Maybe but super smart so it's probably just a culture thing for him, I mean he pretty much sleeps through all his classes besides Spanish and aces any test”
“He's so lucky I wish I was smart like him too”
Cho Baekhyun is a student from Korea. He came to experience the wonders of American high school wow! And wishes to learn another language while visiting.
He's not frail but built wouldn't be the right word. He has muscle but that didn't matter, he knows some crazy ass kung fu shit and can easily stop anyone from our school. By the end of his first week, no one could mess with him without getting beaten and suspended. The school just liked him more than the other students, and Silas didn't mind.
POP.. CRACK
“Okay what is that Mr. knowitall”
Silas was already about to stand up before he heard another whisper, but louder this time. It was coming from Baekhyun who was still half asleep. He had suddenly jumped up from his chair probably from the loud noises outside.
"I thought the demon Onnas killed me. Did I regress to the past?"
“What”
Before Silas could understand what he just heard right now screams echoed from outside the window, looking into the courtyard.
“HOLY SHIT SILAS WHAT IS THAT”
Blue mist covered the floor, it towered just a little over the size of the 2 story building, its blue circular shape expanding slowly into the sky.
A gate has opened connecting the worlds with another. No one could stop the massacre that would ensue.
A tall skeleton, its bones weathered and worn, emerges from the gate, clutching a rustic blade in its bony hand. As it steps into the open, shrouded by blue swirling mist, its gaze sweeps across its surroundings with eerie intent. What strikes Silas the most is the peculiar mark on its skull, a deep, diagonal slash where its nose would have been, a gash reeks of violence and precision. Unlike the typical cold, empty stare of a skeleton, its eye sockets seem to gleam with a perverse kind of anticipation, sending shivers down Silas's spine
A student who was walking to class is now frozen in front of the massive ocean-blue gate and falls down crumbling at the sight. The skellington locks eyes, swings its blade, and slices the student's face, it drags the blade down her chest until it reaches the top of her left knee.
“Oh my god.”
Time was frozen in that classroom, there was no teacher and a monster was here. There was no one to help them besides themself at that moment.
“AAAHH”
As if her death was the drums of war, more and more skeletons throw themself out of the gate and start running around, finding any students and slashing them down.
Ashlee was in shock, everyone was. But Silas could only help but look at Baekhyun who didn't have the same face of horror as everyone else. It's as if he didn't even have a face. It was stone cold. His eyes didn't speak for nor his cheeks or lips. His nose didn't flare and his forehead didn’t shrink.
Silas heart heart pounded in his chest, his breaths shallow and rapid. He couldn't tear his gaze away from the monstrous figure that had emerged from the gate. It seemed surreal, like a scene from a game he would enjoy any other day.
“SILAS, SILAS CAN YOU EVEN HEAR ME? WE HAVE TO RUN”
Ashlee was yanking his arm
“What the FUCK was that, is this a movie set-”
“God please tell me-
“WHY IS THIS DOOR LOCKED-”
As if all at once, the whispers Silas had heard earlier transformed into urgent screams, urging to move, to run, to escape.
“SILAS WE HAVE TO GO BEFORE THOSE THINGS-” Ashlee's voice trailed off as Silas remained rooted to the spot, his eyes fixed on the unfolding nightmare before him.
Silas hadn't moved yet, he stood in the exact place the whole time and simply observed his classmates, most of them ran already. It was now only Silas, Ashlee, Baekhyun, and some students on the floor sobbing or passed out from the scene in front of them.
Ashlee fell to the floor as tears rolled down her face staring at the door
The monsters were here and it was more fearsome than Silas could ever imagine
The thing you never expect about skeletons is their smell. The odor of decay hung heavy in the air, assaulting Silas's senses, a grim reminder that the nightmare unfolding before him was all too real.
