When Zach woke up three days ago, everything was normal. When Zach woke up this morning, everything was most certainly NOT normal.

After all, Zach was smart. He knew that the purple window in front of his face was probably the reason his skin had started falling off of this morning. It was also probably related to the monsters running outside, as if they had always been terrorizing the neighborhood, the crowd of people outside the hospital, and why his doctor had ran away screaming. Either that, or he had finally snapped and was insane. Of course, there was the option of drugs as well(considering his situation), but he had only been giving a pain suppressant that shouldn’t affect his ability to think.
Laying down on the hospital bed, Zach had no idea what to do. The room was small, simply for examining patients, but it was in the secure part of the building where they kept the potentially deadly and contagious diseases contained. For a second, he considered calling his father, however they had stripped the young boy nude and thrown him in a hospital gown upon seeing him, taking all the items upon his person.
Zach could interact with the purple window seemingly taunting him, however he felt it was more appropriate to ignore the insanity-inducing screen until he could come up with a plan that didn’t involve getting eaten by the monsters below. Unfortunately, as all he had to work with was a weak gamer without any weapons whatsoever(or real experience on how to use any, even if there were) he came up blank.
“Shit. Shitttttttt. Why did they take my phone. Damn it. What do I do. Status window? No. I will NOT deal with that right now. Uh. Damn it. Least it doesn’t hurt anymore. They drugged me up good… Can’t feel my face falling off.” Glancing back at the floating window, the boy read it before looking away again. This time he noticed an alarming skill, aside from the mutation thing(which, frankly, scared the hell out of him).
“PAIN IMMUNITY! Come on. That can be the drugs right… A temporary thing… If I can’t feel pain I’m going to die so quickly… Gonna bleed to death after some fight.... Shit…”

As any 17 year old boy would do upon presented with a situation such as this, Zach was cussing quite a lot. It was a healthy way to relieve stress, as opposed to alcohol, cigarettes and drugs.None of which were an option, even if he was the type to use such things.
“Ah god damn it! They aren’t in the hospital yet… But I doubt the army is going to save us, not with the war against the African Empire still going on… “ A suffering sigh escaped his lips. ”Alright. You have this Zach, face or not. Sit down and look at the damn screen. Worst thing that happens, your soul is tormented in some abyss for eternity… Damn it.”
With the… motivational... speech, Zach forced himself to look at the screen. Denying reality for any longer, when everything seemed to be going poorly, was likely a bad idea.
“Let’s see. Well. Mutant. That is just great. Everything else seems normal… Constitution and strength are a bit low… Well, I was never a fighter. More of an academic. The wisdom has to be wrong. No way could I be over twice as wise than I am strong. I’m 17. My dexterity is amazing at least. Always did have good reflexes, it’s why I loved gaming. Jesus I am out of it. I’m talking to myself. Great.” A self-mocking laugh filled the room. “Maybe I really did lose it.”
Reaching out, Zach timidly tapped the screen, particularly on a skill.

“Huh. This seems...” A tired sigh escaped the boy’s mouth. “Well shit. Should I be thrilled or terrified? A bit of both? I have so many questions…” In a smaller voice Zach goes on, “Like why the hell I have a Status Screen and why my goddamn face is falling off.”
Closing his eyes, adrenaline rushed faster than ever throughout his body. Thinking to himself, the boy made a plan. ‘First, I need to get my phone and my clothes. My butt is showing off… Gross. Next… well, we’ll see the situation’
With a deep breath, he pulled open the door and darted into the hallway. Rather than stop and deal with the other terrified patients, he ran towards the front of the building. It was not the closest exit, so the boy avoided being swept into the crowd rushing outside. His currently terrifying appearance, of raw and shedding flesh, probably helped keep others away as well. When he arrived back towards the front of the building, he saw small dog-like creatures attempting to gain access through the emergency doors, his father using a cane to hold the door shut along with the electronic lock.
“Dad! I need my clothes. Also, do you have any clue what is going on? Cause I'm kinda freaking out. ” Tim Barber ignored Zach, his large, bear-like frame simply acknowledging the boy with a nodded head backwards towards an unconscious nurse, her average oval face and dark hair stained with vomit. Lying next to her petite frame was a plastic bag, hopefully the one containing his clothes.
Covering his mouth to avoid the smell of the vomit, Zach crossed over to the nurse, noting the composition of the room along the way. There were a few small rooms along the entryway, one office and another for greeting. The hallway was fairly narrow, leading back to where they had come, making a natural choke point where the door was located. Inside the office was a family of 4, all of them obese except for a young boy. Within the greeting room was a security guard, a female doctor, and 2 nurses. Rather than noting their particular features, Zach continued on.
One arriving at the unconscious nurse, Zach grabbed the bag, thankful it had avoided the vomit and promptly undressed, lacking the normal aversion to nudity present when around others. He heard a scream as one of the members of the family(an obese teenage girl) saw his manhood. The father’s eye twitched as he had his family face away. “Give us some warning next time, kid.” came the voice of the security guard, a tall mexican man with attractive olive eyes and the face of a playboy, as the doctor and nurses looked at his shedding body with fear.
“And stay over there if possible, we don’t know what you have but if it is contagious, we’d like to be as safe a possible. Wait, no, move away from Karen. Damn it, you might have already infected her! You were supposed to stay in your room!” demanded the doctor, her midnight-black complexion shaking with more anger than fear. She was rather tall, and held herself professionally.
Still slightly out of it and scared, Zach nodded and moved away from the group back into the hallway quickly dressing himself.
At this point the door to the family’s room was closed, the fact that Zach was possibly contagious likely causing them to fear.
As soon as Zach was dressed, a ding rang out in his head. He started scratching himself madly as the shedded skin began to fall off and his new skin grew in its place within seconds.
EVOLUTION COMPLETE:
Charisma +14
“...What the fuck is going on, you demon?” asked a nurse, venom in her voice.
"Well, I think I need a new set of clothes..."
