Chapter 1

Demon Lord Kaiju sighed as he watched as the doors of his throne room blasted open again for the third time that day. He noted to himself to hire more competent minions the next time he traveled to the underworld. Kaiju then tiredly watched as a group of human teenagers, that looked no older than eighteen, storm in. A teenage male, who Kaiju assumed was their leader, clad in flashy armor strode to the front of the group.

"Surrender, vile demon! You have no possible chance of victory because we, the Holy Dragon Celestial Knights of Righteousness shall slay you!" He bellowed as his friends cheered.

The human took a deep breath before continuing.

"You have terrorized humanity for far too long! We..." He suddenly stopped his monologue as he turned to one of his friends.

"What was I supposed to say after that?" Kaiju heard him whisper. His friend shrugged.

"Ahem. As I was saying, prepare yourself, demon!"

If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

He turned back to face his group.

"Guys, we can do this! We have been dreaming about this day for far too long! Today is the day we change our futures!"

His friends started cheering even harder.

"We-"

"Fireball," Kaiju muttered as he lazily flicked a finger.

The entire group watched in shock as an enormous fireball spanning almost twenty feet crashed beside them, leaving behind a sizzling crater.

"Leave," Kaiju growled. "Or next time, I won't miss."

"V-very well, demon! W-we, the Holy Dragon Celestial Knights of Righteousness, will never forget your actions of today! Men, retreat!"

The group tripped over themselves trying scramble out of the room as Kaiju watched them. He didn't doubt that three thousand years ago, he would've completely massacred the group leaving behind no survivors. But now, it just all seemed so meaningless. He didn't know when it began, but he just didn't have the same passion for killing humans anymore.

Sighing, Kaiju stood up from his throne. He muttered something under his breath, and his appearance transformed into one of a scrawny looking human male with black hair and eyes. It was time to visit that human town again. The same town that he had traveled to every day for the past year.

He found watching the humans go about their daily lives strangely interesting. At the very least, it would help alleviate his boredom, even if by a little.
