CHAPTER 487
They would have been terrified if it had been before, but today, they were not the slightest bit afraid. After all, teasing the newlyweds was tradition, so Sebastian could not do anything to them, regardless of his capabilities.
Subsequently, the group happily began throwing out ideas of games and challenges for the newlyweds to play. Soon, the ideas included cherry-picking from Madeline's neckline with Sebastian's mouth, removing straws from a bottle with their lips, and having the bride lie beneath the groom when he was doing pushups. All those ideas were affectionate, making Madeline blush while she listened to them.
After an hour of lively discussions, Lucas felt it was about time they concluded, so he ended the discussion. "I'm hungry. Everyone, why don't we head out for some food? It's on me, and we'll drink until we pass out!" Content is property © .
The group agreed with his suggestion before making Sebastian and Madeline drink a glass with their arms linked.
Once they were all gone, the room instantly descended into silence.
Madeline stood motionlessly, feeling a sense of loss. Though she had been living in this room for some time, she was feeling inexplicably uneasy today.
"You must be tired." Sebastian hugged her shoulders before massaging them. "You should take a bath."
"Alright." Madeline thought it was a great idea.
After she entered the bathroom, she heaved a sigh of relief and patted her cheeks before taking a bath. After that, she changed into her pajamas and exited the bathroom when she accidentally bumped into Sebastian, who was entering the room.
There was only one bathroom in the bedroom, so he would always let her use it while occupying the one in the guest room for himself.
Feeling restless, she did not know where to look but pretended as if nothing was wrong as she hung her head low while sitting at the foot of the bed. "Ouch!" She instantly sprang to her feet when she sat on something hard.
"Be careful!" With a smile, Sebastian walked over and removed a horseshoe from under the satin bedsheets.
Madeline was speechless when she saw that.
"A lucky horseshoe!" Sebastian laughed before he said, "It's a fertility charm, but it's kind of late."
We already have two sons.
He paused for a moment before continuing, "But it's alright. Maybe we'll get lucky again."
Madeline was rendered speechless again.
While raising his hand to touch her face, Sebastian asked, "Are you tired?"
She shook her head and answered, "No, I'm not."
Had it been other ordinary women, they would have felt exhausted at this point. However, since Madeline came from a martial arts background, her good stamina sustained her well throughout the day.
"Even if you're not, you should still sleep early." Sebastian looked at her with smiling eyes. "One of the four happiest moments in life is the night of your wedding. Since there are only four and we're so lucky to have met one of them, we should make the most out of tonight!"
Madeline was taken aback for a moment before replying, "Sure…"
Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh.
Although it was not their first intimate exchange, tonight felt as different as it was for Sebastian too.
It feels more… ceremonious. As if after tonight, we will truly be husband and wife.
With Madeline in his arms, he lay down in bed and kissed the spot beside her ear. "Honey…" His low voice was gentle and sounded pleasantly magnetic as if it possessed magical powers that could make her ears turn red and her heart pound wildly.
In response, her body froze, and she was afraid to budge.
His laughter rang out in the room, followed by his baritone voice. "Communication is a two-way street. So, honey, what should you call me?"
Madeline was at a loss for words. Then, she tried addressing him, "Honey?"
"Good girl!" Sebastian kissed her again. "That sounds very nice, but it still needs some work. Say it again."
Feeling her cheeks turn warm, Madeline did as she was told. "Honey!"
"Wonderful." He touched her cheeks and praised her. "Just like Quincy and Joel."
For the fourth time tonight, she was at a loss for words. This isn't the first time Sebastian has praised me like that. It seems like his mind is always filled with his sons and he can't even forget about them for a moment.
"You must address me like that in the future, okay?" Sebastian smiled while planting kisses next to her ear and cheek. "It's a title that only belongs to you."
"Hm…" Madeline could feel her cheeks and chest warming up.
A title that only I can use… He's also the man who solely belongs to me. He's my husband!
"Honey." She could not help hugging and kissing him.
"Good girl." His voice was filled with happiness and satisfaction. "Keep calling me that in the future. You must remember that I'm your husband, a man who belongs to you, and no matter your problems, you can always come to me. I'll unconditionally help, protect, and support you…"
He held her hand and interlaced their fingers together, adding in a gentle but firm tone, "From now on,
we'll forever be one. We'll go through it together for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health."
"Hmm." Madeline tightly held his hand and promised, "I promise to do the same too."
"Even if you're not, you should still sleep early." Sebastian looked at her with smiling eyes. "One of the four happiest moments in life is the night of your wedding. Since there are only four and we're so lucky to have met one of them, we should make the most out of tonight!" Besides the two children, he is the person who treats me best. He's such an excellent person and no one can surpass him. He could've had better options, but his eyes have been glued to me and only me ever since we met. No matter the occasion, he would always make it clear that he is a married man with a wife and kids. Not only that, he respects his wife and loves his children dearly. He would never give others a chance. It seems like morale is etched deeply into his bones. The Hart Family, known as the most prominent family in Dusktown, has raised an excellent successor who is noble but not promiscuous. He doesn't play around with women, despite his excellent background. Also, he said he would give me a sense of security, which he did. Now, I'm willing to trust everything about him with all of my heart. Being able to have such a feeling is the best!
She innately hugged him tighter and dug her cheeks into the crook of his neck. His chest was sturdy and broad, which gave her a sense of security. Indeed, he was someone whom she could fully rely on.
Today's wedding ceremony was grand as the Wendels and Harts had invited all their friends, family, and business partners.
After tonight, Madeline would officially become the young mistress of the Hart Family. No one would have the right to judge her or her sons' identity.
She was grateful and touched, for she had never dreamed of retaining what she had now until tonight. Yet, all of this was realized because of the man hugging her presently.
To her, this unrivaled handsome man, who was absolutely perfect without any flaws, was as capable as a God.
Soon, the lights were switched off, and the chemistry that saturated the air also differed from before. It seemed like their hearts were even closer together now as if they had fused and bonded into one being…
When they woke up from their dreams the following day, the couple opened their eyes to see each other lying by their side. Exchanging sweet gazes with each other, they found themselves in the most loving disposition with happiness filling the brims of their hearts, just like ever before.
After washing up and changing their clothes, they arrived downstairs together.
Before they even descended the end of the stairs, Joel spotted them with his keen eyesight and jumped up in joy while yelling, "Daddy, Mommy!"
His tiny feet thumped against the floor as he ran up the stairs and threw himself into his parents' embrace before tugging at them. "Daddy, Mommy, I missed you so much!"
Since he went to bed with his brother and grandpa last night, he did not get to see his parents before falling asleep, so it felt oddly strange for a kid like him.
