“Why would I go somewhere private with a known legilimens?” Petunia didn’t snarl, not quite, but she was not friendly. “Not to mention a previous Death Eater?”
Lloyd, in the background, bristled at the words. Petunia held her hand to stop him –as she had seen his hand creeping closer to his wand.
“I wouldn’t give my boy to you if you were the last wizard on earth, Severus.”
“Oh?” Snape drawled, “Then who would you leave him with?”
Petunia’s smile was harsher this time, “Wouldn’t you like to know?”
Then, in a single fluid motion, brought her knee up and her hands down, snapping the thin piece of wood some would call a wand. She threw the two severed bits to the side.
“Well, now that that’s done —Lloyd?” Petunia looked to her friend, softening her smile, “Go ahead and call the Aurors. This man has threatened you, in a federal building, while being of an unknown Visa status.”
Lloyd cleared his throat and straightened his tie, “Yes, yes, of course. Incarcerious.”
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
Severus was watching the interaction with growing horror. It had taken him a moment to realize it, but Petunia had broken his wand. It took him another moment to realize his hands were bound. He sat there aghast,
“Severus –um, Pet?” Lloyd shot Petunia a questioning gaze.
“Snape.”
“Right-o, Severus Snape, you are to be held under the following laws: the Anti-Violence Act of 1945, Section D, Subsection 14a, the Order of Federal Protections of 1967, Section B, Subsection 2g, and the no-maj regulations of attempted aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. That’s a felony, by the way. As well as the International Accords between the ol’ mother country and MACUSA.” Lloyd rolled the charges off as easy as breathing, and Petunia beamed a smile at him. Lloyd whistled, and immediately Prim and Lyla opened the door, “Call the head of the Auror Department. We’ve got a criminal here.”
“Oh, dear, I’ll get Stevie on the line.” Lyla sighed.
Prim just huffed a laugh, came in, and grabbed Severus’ arm —effortlessly hoisting the gangly man up to his feet. Despite his smaller stature, Prim was quite capable.
“All right, we’ll take it from here.” He said, dragging a sputtering Severus off.
“Petunia,” Lloyd looked at her oddly, but Petunia didn’t mind, instead she went up to Lloyd and wrapped her arms around his neck.
“Brilliant, Lloyd,” she breathed into him and he swallowed, “Absolutely brilliant.”
“Pet, what—”
And then Petunia kissed him. For the first time, Lloyd felt real genuine hope that Petunia would reciprocate.
