the moon watched as the sun aged on. He watched her beauty and brightness start to dim. Over millennia he had his vision blocked by garbage from the creatures of the earth and from the artificial light they worked so hard to recreate. The light from which the sun had. The sun had so many things to keep in line but none knew her like him. Most people squinted up at her in distain, but he saw her in the darkness of the deep. He saw her caring for her little planets, he saw her fight storms and battles, he saw her outbursts. Now the false lights from earth has grown. The sun was barely visible at times. He dreaded lunar eclipses and mourned for solar. He knew the creatures of earth had a plan, a plan to visit the sun. Oh how much he would give to be the one to go. To finally meet his love, his star. Slowly little by little he was pulling away from earth. His face which the creatures pondered turned stressed and his hate for the earth grew. So what if he helped them with ocean waves and to tell time. The moon inched away from his relationship with earth. Earth was toxic and ruined and there wasn’t anything he could do about it. The creatures found out about his pull away but that wouldn’t stop him from going. He dreamed of what it would be like to meet her. Her life, her light until finally earth let go. He was free from their grasp and he was barreling towards his love. It was like those videos of people meeting for the first time in a long time. The passion in his heart fuelled him as he went. There was no need for rest or stopping because the mere thought of the sun being so close powered him.

The sun opened her arms for him. Welcoming him into her world of light. They spent the rest of her life together. When she was on her last years they knew it was coming. When she went out nothing would last without her. The creatures of earth had left long ago. The only ones left were the moon and his sun. The last of her flame went out. He held her tight as she tore this solar system apart. Together for forever. In life and in death.
