After Hazel turned around everyone around them quickly backed away yelling 'Monster Hunter' but three girls walked to face Hazel and the other three.

"Well, if it isn't Hazel Abernathy." one of the girls mocked.

"Oh, I like her." Isabella's voice said.

'Shut up.' Hazel thought.

"Hazel who are these girls?" Rachel asked whispering.

"Well girls why don't we introduce ourselves." A girl with white skin, blue eyes, and blonde hair said to the other two.

"Sure." A girl with brown skin, green eyes, and black hair said, "My name's Andrea."

"My name's Sophie." A girl with red hair, hazel eyes, and white skin said.

"And my name's Lilith." The girl with blonde hair said.

"The only one of these three that can't even dress properly." Hazel remarked seeing that she was the only one who wasn't wearing a scarf or long sleeves.

"Shut up." Lilith snapped.

"What do you three want?" Gabriel asked head lowered.

"How about you stop wearing those disgusting hoods and show your ugly faces." Sophie said.

"Don't tempt them Sophie, we might get a disease." Lilith said.

"If you wanted to see our faces you could've just asked." Ace said as he, Rachel, and Gabriel pulled their hoods down.

"Think you'd be popular if you had a pretty friends Orphan?" Andrea mocked.

"So, what is she's an orphan?" Gabriel asked walking to Hazel's side.

"You’re wasting your time defending her." Lilith said facing him, "Besides we're way prettier, you should hang out with us."

"I think I'll pass." Gabriel said as he grabbed Hazel's hand, "And I'd rather hang out with someone who doesn't want or needs popularity."

"Come on girls, we're wasting our time here." Lilith said as she and the others disappeared into the crowd.

"You okay Hazel?" A calm familiar voice said.

Hazel quickly let go of Gabriel's hand and quickly turned around and came face to face with a girl who had black hair, green eyes, and white skin.

"Eliza!" Hazel exclaimed hugging the girl, "I can't believe it's you!"

"Did you really think you could get rid of me that easily?" Eliza said hugging her.

"I never thought I'd see you again." Hazel said as they separated.

"Care to introduce us to your friend Hazel?" Rachel asked as Phoenix nuzzled Eliza's hand.

"Actually, this is my sister, Eliza Abernathy." Hazel said introducing them, "Older sister to be more precise."

"Sister!?" Gabriel and the twins exclaimed making the crowd back away even more.

"Eliza what did you do now!?" A hooded figure exclaimed emerging from the crowd.

"Nothing Carla, I swear." Eliza said as the figure reached them.

"Sure." The figure said sarcastically as they removed their hood revealing short blonde hair, white skin, and blue eyes, "So why did everyone started yelling?"

"That was us, actually." Rachel said.

"So, it seems like Lilith's information was correct." A familiar voice ringed in both Abernathys' ears.

"Hoods up." Eliza ordered.

"No need to cover your faces." The voice said as they pulled their hoods over their faces.

"No offense but we don't like showing our faces to people who sleep with people who want us dead." Hazel said turning to face her aunt.

"So, you're a Monster Hunter now just like your parents." Molly said looking at Hazel from head to toe before looking at Eliza, "And just like her."

"Guess it runs in the family." Hazel said smiling.

"We should go." Carla said.

Everyone nodded and quickly made their way back to the forest.

"A pitiful ambition." Molly said as the six Monster Hunters reached the forest's edge, "Monster hunting, all you get to do is kill and travel. What's there to gain?"

"You get to help people." Hazel said before turning around and disappearing into the forest followed by the others.

"Where are we going?" Eliza asked.

"The house." Gabriel replied.

"But we don't have a key." Carla said as they reached the house.

"Don't worry about that." Ace said as Hazel pulled her hair pin out.

"You never told me you could pick locks." Eliza said as Hazel started picking the lock.

"A lot has changed since your last visit Eli." Hazel said as they heard a small click.

"What?" Eliza asked as Hazel opened the door, "You being a Monster Hunter or Aunt Molly sleeping with Max Dark?"

"Both." Hazel said as they entered the house.

"You forgot saving nearly all the Monster Hunters in your first month." Gabriel said as Carla made her way to the kitchen, "Twice even."

And that was how they spent the next hour and a half talking while Carla made lunch.

"Did you really do that?" Eliza asked amazed as Carla set a plate of food in front of them.

(A/N: You can honestly pick what food their eating because I'm literally clueless right now.)

"So what do you guys wanna do?" Hazel asked as they finished eating, "I've got an itching feeling that the Grinch will be coming on midnight."

Gabriel and the twins looked at each other before exclaiming, "Spar!"

Hazel rolled her eyes smiling before they all grabbed their weapons and headed outside.

After thirty minutes the Oliviero twins were pinned back-to-back by the Abernathys.

"Come on guys, just surrender." Eliza said smiling.

Rachel and Ace glanced at the two sisters’ beads of sweat littering their foreheads before the blades on their swords glowed and a second blade appeared on the bottom of the grip as the pommel disappeared.

"Woah." The twins, Gabriel, and Hazel awed.

Five minutes later the Abernathys were pinned by the twins.

"Okay, you win!" Eliza exclaimed.

The twins smiled as their swords turned back to normal and the Abernathys stood up.

"That was so cool!" Hazel exclaimed as Carla and Gabriel walked up to them.

"I might have some idea, but it's pretty far-fetched." Eliza said before the sun started to set.

And about two hours later the six hunters were in the living room preparing their weapons after they just finished their dinner.

"Alright Hazel." Gabriel said looking at the girl, "That's the seventh time you looked at me, what's up?"

"Feels like the Dreadpod Attack all over again." Hazel said as she finished sharpening her dagger.

"It actually does." Gabriel said placing his bow beside the wall.

"And when we were always at each other's throats?" Hazel said sheeting her dagger and placing it on the table.

"Shut up." Gabriel said grinning at the twins propped their swords on the wall beside them.

"How are you two not dating?" Rachel teased.

"Shut up!" Gabriel and Hazel exclaimed both of them blushing furiously.

Carla and Eliza exchanged amused looks before grinning at each other.

Four hours later all six hunters were sleeping peacefully.

"I'm coming for you." A high-pitched voice echoed in both the Abernathys ears.

Both Hazel and Eliza's eyes snapped open as they bolted up right in their seats.

"Gab wake up!" Hazel said shaking Gabriel awake as Eliza picked up her scythe.

"The Grinch is already here?" Rachel asked as she and her brother woke up.

"Come on, we have to get to the village now." Carla said as she and the twins got their weapons.

"Let's go then." Gabriel said as he and Hazel got their weapons.

"You guys ready?" Hazel asked as she and the others arrived at the village border.

"Yep." Ace said.

"Alright, stay in the shadows and don't attack until you see it." Eliza said as they crept behind a nearby house.

"Eliza, Carla you two take the left, Rachel and Ace will take the right." Hazel said, "Gab with me."

"I'm coming to get you." The high-pitched voice said as they split up.

"If we're going to send him back to his dimension, we're going to have to do this now." Carla said.

Everyone nodded and one by one the Monster Hunters hid behind a house surrounding the Grinch.

"My God, he looks terrifying." Gabriel whispered looking at the Grinch's green fur, yellow cat like eyes and long fingers, "Let's get him."

"Wait." Hazel said stopping him before he could show himself, "We need the Northern Star first."

Gabriel glanced at the cloudy sky, "Come on."

After about ten minutes the clouds parted revealing the Northern Star and a red and gold portal appeared near the forest.

"Now!" Carla yelled as all six hunters bounded forward.

"I'm not going back to that place." The Grinch said as he dodged all their attacks.

"Any other bright ideas!?" Gabriel exclaimed as the Grinch dodged his arrows.

"Survive." Eliza said dodging the Grinch's attacks.

"You alright Eliza?" Carla asked as her whip wrapped itself around the Grinch's waist.

"Around and around, you go." Rachel said as Carla spun the Grinch around and released him, unfortunately he recovered before he could get through the portal.

In a flash the Grinch grabbed Hazel and directed Hazel's dagger to her throat causing Phoenix to growl.

"Let her go." Eliza said pointing her scythe at him.

'Come on, Gab think.' Gabriel thought to himself before an idea came to his head.

"Deadbeat." Hazel snapped before the Grinch brought the dagger closer to her throat.

"This is what you want, isn't it?" Gabriel said laying his bow down.

"Finally, a Monster Hunter that has some sense." The Grinch said dropping Hazel's dagger.

In seconds Gabriel threw a smoke bomb at his face which made him let go of Hazel and dropping her dagger, giving her time to throw him through the portal.

"Come on." Hazel muttered before the Northern Star disappeared in a blink of an eye.

And in a few seconds the portal disappeared.

"That was close." Eliza panted as they all stared transfixed at where the portal used to be a few seconds ago.

Gabriel nodded before picking Hazel's dagger up, "I believe this belongs to you."

Hazel stared at her dagger before looking Gabriel in the eye and hugging him.

"It's alright Hazel, I got you." Gabriel whispered in her ear as he hugged her back.

"Are you okay?" Eliza asked as her sister and Gabriel separated.

"Just a little shaken, but I'll be okay." Hazel said wiping away a stray tear as she got her dagger back.

"That was an impressive move you did back there." Carla commented smiling at Gabriel.

The twins smiled at the sight before Rachel shivered, "Is it just me or is it getting colder?"

"Blizzard!" Gabriel exclaimed shivering.

"Come on!" Hazel exclaimed before they started running for the house with Phoenix leading the way.

Ten minutes later the six hunters were in the living room with a roaring fire in the fireplace.

"Hey Gab, didn't you and Hazel told us there was a blizzard coming?" Rachel said as Luna and Josh flew in.

"Yes, but that would mean." Gabriel said before the three of them looked at Hazel.

"It's my birthday today." Hazel said quietly sitting down.

"Happy birthday Ms. Abernathy." Luna said.

"You okay Hazel?" Rachel asked.

"I'm fine actually." Hazel said smiling at them.

"So you don't hate your birthday?" Ace asked slowly.

"No." Hazel said still smiling.

"Happy Birthday Hazel!" The twins exclaimed grinning.

Eliza chuckled before giving Hazel a white box.

"What's in it?" Hazel asked.

"Your cake." Carla said as Hazel opened it.

"Thanks." Hazel replied placing it on the table.

"Make a wish Hazel." Eliza said lighting the candle.

Hazel sat down in front of the cake and looked at her sister and friends smiling.

"A year ago, if you asked me what I would've wanted I would've said adventure, mystery, true friends but looking at all of you I realized that every wish came true." Hazel said before shrugging, "I got everything I ever wanted."

Hazel bowed her head before blowing the candle out.

The other hunters even Eliza stared surprised at Hazel before they all hugged her.

"I love you sis." Eliza said as they separated.

"You guys think it's time?" Ace asked.

"Definitely." Gabriel and Rachel replied.

"What are you guys talking about?" Hazel asked.

"You'll see." The twins said as Gabriel took the box out of his bag.

"Just close your eyes." Gabriel said.

"Fine." Hazel said unsure as she closed her eyes.

"You're going to love it." Gabriel said handing the box over to Hazel.

"You can open your eyes now." Ace said.

"What's so-" Hazel began before opening her eyes and saw the box.

"Happy Birthday Hazel!" Gabriel and the twins exclaimed.

"Where did you get this?" Hazel asked staring at the box in disbelief.

"Chancellor Nevermore gave it to me." Gabriel said smiling.

"But what exactly is it?" Rachel asked as Hazel placed the box on the table.

"It's the music box I asked them to make when I was little." Hazel said lifting the lid and a soft melody played as a purple dragon slowly rose.

"What's that?" Gabriel asked pointing at something in front of the dragon.

"Looks like an egg." Ace said as he stepped closer for a better look.

"Is it just me or those it looks like a button." Hazel said.

"Push it." Everyone urged.

"Okay then." Hazel said before pushing the button.

After Hazel pressed the button the dragon's eyes gave a faint blue glow.

"Your name please." A voice said.

"Where did that come from?" Carla asked looking around.

"The dragon." The Abernathy sisters replied.

"Hazel Abernathy." Hazel said turning to the dragon.

"Your full name please." The dragon said.

"I never use my full name." Hazel said before pushing the button again and again.

"Your full name please." The dragon repeated.

"If any of you tell this to anyone, I will kill you." Hazel said turning to her friends.

"Okay." Gabriel said arms up in surrender.

"Hazel Amore Abernathy." Hazel said looking at the dragon.

"Access granted." The dragon said.

After Hazel heard this, she quickly looked at her friends and saw the twins were fighting back fits of laughter.

"T-that's your name?" Ace asked biting back a smile.

"Leave her alone guys." Gabriel said sternly folding his arms.

"And this is why I don't use my full name." Hazel said glaring at the twins.

At that very moment the soft glow that emanated from the dragon's eyes started glowing brighter and brighter until all six Monster Hunters had to cover their eyes.
