CHAPTER FOUR: ESCAPE.

Groux walked outside, not sure how he did what he did back in the room, he walked past an oscillating fan and realized he felt the wind in a strange place, he was naked. He quickly ran into a corner, and looked for anything he could use to cover himself, but there was nothing, he saw a group of people panicking, with the alarm still going off. They started coming his way, he had to hide, and quick, he quickly opened a nearby door and dashed into the room. He was very happy to see that it was a small room and no human was there, it was a closet, he saw a doctor's uniform with a coat and he wore it. He wore the sneakers he met there and walked out.

He saw the blue arrows Steven was talking about and followed it , he got to a junction in the hallway and saw that the arrows divided into the three hallways.

"What the..." Groux muttered. "Are there three exits in this house."

He continued walking straight and kept hiding from people passing by , until he finally got to an elevator , he was confused on what to do, he knew it was a door but he didn't know what he had to do to open it. He decided to open it the traditional way, he pulled and pulled but the door barely moved, he pulled again and he pulled so hard he slipped on the tiles and by mistake, he hit the button and heard a ding. Then he realized, it's the button he had to press.

Steven and a group of staff were watching Groux on the security cameras.

"That's it.....enter the elevator" Steven muttered maliciously. A man was inside the elevator shaft , with a saw, getting ready to cut the cable holding the elevator.

The elevator door opened and Groux entered. The door closed, and Groux entered, but the elevator didn't move, he hadn't press the button to the floor he wants to go, Groux stood there, wondering what was going to happen, ignorant of what to do.

"Switch of the elevator brakes" Steven said and a staff flicked a switch. "Cut of the elevator power" A staff flicked another switch. The man in the elevator shaft began cutting the cable, with all his efforts.

"Unh ?" Groux muttered , hearing the noise"The thing must be broken" He checked the row of buttons and saw one similar to the one he pressed by mistake, he pressed it, but it didn't work, he press it again and then multiple times, but nothing worked.

"Oh , no , something is wrong with this technology, and I can't shout for help" Groux said in fear.

The man finally cut the cable completely, and suddenly the elevator began to drop with speed, Steven celebrated. Groux has never used an elevator, neither does he know what they do, but he knew this isn't normal. He scrambled round the elevator, not knowing what to do, the elevator moved faster and faster, then......'baammm' it hit the ground floor. Steven hopped and danced, echoing noises of celebration.

Groux immediately went unconscious, people on the ground floor heard the crash and went to check it out , engineers immediately came and forced the door open, the elevator was below the ground floor , and it had a trap door at the top. As the engineers were about to open it, Steven swooped in and shouted.

"Don't open it" Everyone was confused. "It contains chemical fumes , me and the boys back there just wanted to check something, a little ummm......science experiment, to ummm..... check something, we cut the cables intentionally, you can go now". Everyone was about to leave, but they were stopped by the shimmering noise in the elevator, soon flares of light could be seen, emitting from it.

"Umm...sir I think your chemicals are doing something" said a young woman.

"What ? " Steven exclaimed.

The trap door burst opened, with Groux crawling out angrily like a monster in a horror movie, his claws were out, and they were steaming red, they scratched horridly on the marble floor. Everyone immediately got scared and started running helter skelter.

"Oh no!!!" Steven exclaimed again.

Groux grabbed Stevens neck and squeezed really tight, preventing Steven from breathing, the engineers came and slammed a hammer on Groux's back, but the hammer bounced back, as though Groux's skin was a hard trampoline and they immediately ran away.

"Wait , wait , please....." Steven forced out.

"Why should I hesitate to kilL you after you tried to kill me multiple times " Groux said, as his hands clamped tighter on Steven's neck.

"I can help you get back to your planet" Groux immediately stopped squeezing Steven's neck as he heard what he said.

"How ?" Groux said , while still holding Steven.

"My team have been studying the place you said you came to earth and the pulsar fields around the palace is getting stronger, we think there's going to be a Portal tonight." Steven said in between heavy breaths

"What are you talking, there was a portal yesterday, there can't be another portal today again"

"You don't understand, you've been here for nine days"

Those words slapped Groux hard in the face.

"Nine days ?" Groux said in confusion. He got angry, how could Steven keep him for nine days , away from his family, even though there was no way back to his family. His claws found their way into Steven's abdomen, slicing it wide open. Steven fell to the ground, as blood poured out from his mouth and his eyes slowly closed, and he went pale.

Groux hadn't figured out all the powers he had yet, all he knows is that he could shoot lasers , get incredibly strong and glow up.

Groux started to think of all possible things that could have happened to his father , could his father have forgotten about him, has his father mated again, did hid father kill himself. These thoughts ran through his mind like cars on the highway , his mind immediately became fuzzy and he fell to the ground, trying to get back to reality, he forced himself to believe that his father was fine and okay and he will see him soon.

Groux stood up, looking for a way out, his hands are stained with blood, but no one will probably notice since his hands are red, but he was careful not to touch the coat with it, his head turned left and right has he walked down the hallway, and he finally made it to the reception.

"Aaahhhhhhhh...." Groux heard a woman scream back from where he was coming from. "DOCTOR STEVEN, DOCTOR STEVEN.......Aaaaa....."

He didn't care, he just wanted to get back home, he saw the glass door that led outside and he could see the bright park, or forest, as he calls it, not far from the laboratory.

He picked up speed and ran out of the lab, and the sun light shines upon him, he screamed loudly as he fell to the ground , covering himself with his hands, fearing the pain of the harsh sunlight. But he didn't fell anything, only the little Stings of the heat of the sun.

He stood up and hundreds of laser points shinned at him, he looked up and saw soldiers and armed vehicles surrounding him all pointing weapons at him. Groux looked at the sky and saw the sun's position, but he couldn't tell if it was rising or setting. A man came forward with a mega phone.

"We don't mean any harm dear being , this could go the easy way, or the hard way, come with us or we'll take you by force"

"And why should I follow you" Groux said angrily.

"The hard way it is..... fire " All soldiers started shooting and firing and at Groux , some bullets flew past him and struck the building. The bullets that hit Groux bounced off with a noise.

"Keep shooting" The man said.

Magazines were being replaced, guns were being fired, but none of them affected Groux, his eyes glowed brighter and brighter.

"Get down , get down" A man shouted. Groux eyes shot out a strong beam of laser , cutting through the vehicles and a few men.

The man with the megaphone, flat on the floor, pulled out his walkie talkie and spoke into it.

"Lock down the city , no one comes out of their house, guard the portal position and bring reinforcements, do you copy."

"Copy"

In another part of the city , not far from the chaos, in a school named 'Kings Bell Secondary School' Three young kids who were in Junior Secondary School three, stayed in school late for extra lessons from their math teacher. They were already done and Mr. Akin had just gone to his office to grab a text book.

"I hate math" Stacey said in a sleepy manner.

" Seriously ? Maths is literally the foundation and structure of the universe" Dave said.

"You know what I just heard ?" Said Stacey.

"What ? " Dave asked

" nonsense nonsense nonsense, nerdy nerdy nerdy and some other jargons" Stacey said and Dave laughed sarcastically.

Meanwhile, Benedict was busy making a paper airplane, and it was finally ready for flight .

"Three..... two....." Ben called as he prepared the plane. "One" He threw it and it swooped around the class, it moved to the door and hit the math teacher, who was about to enter in the face. The children exclaimed.

"Instead of you to revise what I thought you, you're making airplanes that you will never enter. You students are so stupid, you can never achieve anything in life, you are so dumb that I'm giving you extra lessons, for free, which is sooo out of my paycheck. I'll report you to your parents and reduce your CA by 20 marks." Mr. Akin said angrily.

"SIR" The children exclaimed.

"If you want it back , behave well and study hard, extra homework for you" The children stared at their teacher with pure anger. "Dave is receiving less homework cuz he's smarter than all you" Dave looked at Stacey and Benedict with pride. "And Dave , don't let them turn your brain into mush. Page two thirteen to two twenty, all the exercises, Dave , you stop at two seventeen. Now leave my presence"

The children walked out of the school, thinking about how they couldn't attack their teacher with nails and hammers.

"That's the stupidest teacher in the world" Stacey said, throwing her hair to her back.

"You can't blame him" said Dave. "He's a math teacher, all math teachers are like that, they spent years in university, studying engineering and computer science, only to end up as teachers. Shame "

"That doesn't give him an excuse to ruin his students lives" said Stacey.

"C'mon guys" said Ben, as they mount their bicycles outside the school gate. "We would be late"

"Late to where" said Dave.

"Didn't I tell you, I overheard my mom talking about an alien they found last week, we are going to see"

"We could get in trouble" said Dave

" My mom works there" Ben said. They ride down the streets and a group of soldiers stopped them.

"The city is on lockdown, please go back to your houses" said a soldier.

"Why" ? Asked Ben.

"There's an alien on the loose" The children exclaimed.

"It's true" said Stacey.

"Come on , I know a place we can pass, where no one can see us.

They rode their bikes of road, in a tight corner of the city, until they got to the laboratory.
