Izuki Ren PoV's:

"We finally did it..."

Sakura and I could be seen completely exhausted, layed on the ground watching the sky while Shun and Kaede cleaned the few remaining enemies. Watching both of them easily beat them up I asked.

"What is your stats guys? Compared to us you're totally overwhelmed them without problems."

Shun who was slowly coming near him asked while rubbing his head.

"Hum... How do you see them?"

"You only need to say or think in your mind 'Open Status'."

Hearing me, they all said together 'Open Status'. The first one to talk was Shun.

"My job's Knight. main stats luck what about you girls?"

Since I already said my job earlier he asked.

"My job's Warrior and my main stats is strength as expect."

Kaede said while trying to understand the concept of the game, she asked.

"Yui what's your job?"

"My job's Priest main stat wisdom..."

As if she was trying to say something, she then stopped talking. Sakura must be worried because she didn't do anything in the last fight. 'Gentle as always' I thought.

"You're job is perfect Yui! We somehow have a balanced team."

Shun already know about party system in role playing game, so he knows how important a priest's needed. But we can't see each other's stats, this gonna be troublesome later on. We need to find a village near there to gather some information. After a long pause Shun asked me.

"Ren what do you think we should do first?"

"You know how every RPG starts don't you? Let's head to the first village, we'll ask travelers for the direction."

Before Ren and the others could started departing, the bird finished the last enemy, right after it died, a message popped up inside his mind.

Everyone nodded, Shun was the first one to talk.

"I have leveled up to level 2 same for my passive skills."

"Yeah, same for me. I also have leveled up to level 2. This system is giving me a headache."

Kaede answered while sighing, 'she seems already bored with this popping message system' I thought.

"What about you Sakura-san?" I asked.

"Me too..." mumbled Sakura.

I see, you only gain Skills exps only when you used at least once or more your skill. Passive skills automatically gain depending the passive skill. But we don't know each others stats neither skills and It's better to check it in a town, It's more safer.

"We should started departing. Let's take everything they got with us, maybe we can sell them later."

A long and narrow tunnel, moving deep into the mountain. The cold and damp walls were definitely man made. The floor had bones of human and demon beast scattered everywhere. From the looks of it, one can deduce that a fight between them happened there and the humans retreated deep into this mountain.

After following the long tunnel several thousands of meters deep underground the exit entrance slowly appeared in front of us. Finally getting out of the tunnel, the scene in front of them widened. An incomparably vast desert appeared.

"This is... A desert." Ren said, his heart was shaking.

"So what?" Shun became a little curious. For something to make Ren shaken, this desert is definitely not something small. He knows nothing about RPG games except most basics knowledge compared to Ren who mastered every fantasy games.

"We are short in water and foods, this desert is the only way, we can't return to the mountains. We can last in this desert for only few days. The only hope is that a village is living near the desert."

Shun wondered what kind of difficulty this death game was to even make Ren rubbing his head saying 'This is way too hard!'. However, what he can be certain of is that this desert's very vast.

Looking far away, he saw that the ground is filled with cracks. In every crack, the flow of blazing magma with white smoke was coming out from time to time. The whole world was filled with the smell of sulfur.

After looking around again with Ren's bird, in a vague light, a city stood, majestically 200 meters away from them. Finally a town!

Suddenly, when Ren walked forward, a chirping sound was heard coming from the surrounding area. Black figures appeared in their sight. Their bodies are dark purple in color, with sharp ears were peeking at Ren from far away, looking at him eagerly.

It's the Dark Elves!

Suddenly, three dark Elves unsheathed their swords and advanced slowly towards Ren. They probably felt that he was the leader which is why they took action. One of the three dark Elves asked them.

"Kids, what do you want from us and why were you coming from the Valley of Death?"

Ren slowly advancing toward them said while holding up both his hands.

"We appeared in the mountains. We killed the tribute living there and we want to visit the city."

Another dark Elves approached him and checked all his equipment, bag and weapons stolen from the uncivilized tribute. Once finished his task, he whispered to one of them that seems to be the leader, then spoke.

"I'm the captain's guard of the city, once you pay 10 Silver coins as entrance fee per person, then you can freely enter in the city. I recommend you to buy an identification card since It's needed in this world, I welcomed you in our Kaos City. God's childs."

"Unfortunately we don't have any money with us right now, it is possible to sell these masks and used spears?" Ren said, then opened his bag and showed them the masks and spears.

"Uhm... I think you can sell this for 1 silver coin the mask and 5 coppers coin the spear." He called the one who was checking Ren few seconds ago then said.

"You go sell these items and come back." Instantly after he ordered so, the dark elf ran as fast as he could to the city. 

Few minutes later the dark elf came back with a bag with coins shaking within the bag, he gave him the bag then said.

"There are 60 silvers coin and 80 coppers coin, please verify the content."

Once he finished talking, Ren counted all the pieces then nodded. He gave 40 silver coins to the captain's guard and with his group headed in the big city in front of them.

Kaos City

Situated in the Northeast of Kaon's country, the city wall is vast and grand, stretching to few dozen miles. It's made from huge white rocks stacked together, issuing a chilling aura.

Ren and his group entered the Kaon City and inquired around. This city is the first one they could visit until now. They were speechless, all kinds of races gathered together and are under the City's Lord protection. Among them, there are many races that escaped to here from the vast desert and monsters living around there. The human popularity here is about only 20% of the population.

In a tattered inn, Ren and company was eating like demon beast devouring his prey. It has been 5 hours that they've been roaming in the desert. When they finished eating, he realised that something need to be done, then spoke to the group.

"Let's go register to the Adventurer Guild."
