Chapter 2
It’s been a couple days since Jasmine has been teaching me to hunt. In the mornings, Jasmine would wake me up, and we would go to a nearby stream to drink. Afterwards, she would take me to a field full of bunnies, if you can even call those things bunnies. The virus had turned them into four foot tall fuzzballs of death, and their claws were sharp enough to cut through tree trunks in a single swipe. I had no doubts that I would die as soon as it touched me. Jasmine had forbade any use of weapons, saying that tools were for humans.
We are beasts, powerful creatures. We do not rely on tools to fight for us.
Thinking about it now, I really doubt that a makeshift spear could pierce through the bunnies thick hide.
I have to go for its soft spots. Throat, belly, nose, eyes.
Jasmine had left me to fight for myself against one rabbit, while she took care of the rest.
The rabbit’s fur was pure white, while its eyes were a frightening bright red. According to Jasmine, it had become more of an omnivore now.
I slowly circled around the beast, looking for an opportunity to strike. Seeing that I wasn’t going to strike first, the rabbit took the initiative. It instantly dashed towards me at astonishing speed. I didn’t doubt for a second that it could outrun a car.
I instantly rolled to my left, and spun around to face the rabbit. It had already corrected itself after it’s charge, and was facing me again. It snarled, showing off its sharp teeth.
Oh, fuck, that’s scary
Focus, it’s you or him. Only one will survive. This is a fight for survival. This is life.
Damn, I should really train myself not to broadcast my thoughts.
It charged at me again, only for me to roll to the right.
Stop dodging! Face the beast if you wish to live!
Easier said than done, that thing is a fucking monster!
So are you. Use your claws, your fur, your teeth if you have to. There are no rules here. This is a fight to the death.
Right, I’m a monster, I’m a monster, I’m a monster. If I wish to live, I have to become one of them. Being human is the quickest way to die. To survive, I had to become more. Stronger, faster, smarter, better, greater.
The rabbit charges again, but this time, I’m ready. I also dash towards the rabbit, surprising it.
As soon as it comes within distance, I raise my claws, and everything slows down to a halt.
I absorb every detail of my surroundings. The morning dew on the grass around us, the look of fear on the rabbit’s face, and my reflection in its eyes. Is that... me?
I was smiling viciously, my previous one inch claws had somehow extended to three inches.
Focus! I told myself
Reality began to catch up once again, and time began to speed up from a stop to a crawl.
I moved my claws slowly, as I changed my position. The longer I waited, the faster time sped up. pretty soon, we were diving at each other from a snail's pace, to the speed of a balloon falling.
I was running out of time.
Throat, belly, nose, eyes.
Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
Throat, belly, nose, eyes.
I began to chant this like a mantra.
The throat is too close to its razor sharp teeth, and so is the nose. I might be able to go for the eyes, but I wanted to finish this quickly.
The belly it is.
The bunny seemed to be in mid-leap, floating in the air.
I dropped to the ground, sliding towards its soft underbelly. As I was passing by the front claws, the rabbit tried to swipe at me, but it had no leverage, and no force behind it. I was easily able to dodge one of the swipes, and parry the other with claws of my own.
As soon as I was in position, my left hand shot towards its belly, piercing it and letting my claws shoot to the other side of the rabbit, only to be stopped by the rabbit’s hide.
Time immediately resumed. I was panting, and a massive headache coursed through me.
The rabbit wasn’t dead yet, and it tried to claw me, but all of my vital organs were too far away, as I still held the rabbit up from its stomach.
The rabbit’s short claws were only able to reach my wrist, and it didn’t really have enough leverage or intent to destroy my arm, although I did receive quite a few deep scratches.
After twenty seconds, the rabbit finally succumbed to its wounds, collapsing.
I dropped my arm onto the ground next to me, panting from exertion,as my headache continued to drill through my skull.
Fuck! this hurts so much!
It's the side effect.
What?
I’ll admit, I didn’t expect that you’d develop an alpha skill, but yours seems to be an extremely useful one.
This doesn’t make any sense, what’s this headache? What’s going on?
Before I could ask any more questions, I fell unconscious.
I didn’t expect this human to become so powerful... maybe it’s a mistake to accept her help, perhaps I should just kill her now. Now... she won’t betray me, she is too trusting. Besides, Bobo is a bigger threat than she is, and she is only just budding to her power. She won’t threaten me for years to come, she could barely even kill a rabbit. I am in no danger. But, if she does threaten me... I can finish her off easily enough while she’s sleeping. This cub won’t be a problem. Although... just in case, I will finish her off once we’ve taken care of Bobo. I can’t have her taking my rightful place as Queen of the Monsters.

Hey guys! Fairsky here! I'm not so great at combat scenes, but i'm trying my best.
Hope everybody liked the story. I'm trying to write for longer, but for some reason, at 1000 words, the chapter just seems to naturally conclude... I dunno.
Anyways, If you are a fan of my series GD, http://www.royalroadl.com/fiction/2834
then you should know that I'm still gonna continue it, I'm just varying up my chapters between series a bit.
May psyfish be with you!
