"Who are you" Were the words that came out of my mouth as i looked at the face of the friend that betrayed me without batting an eyelid.
I had known her for countless years ever since she decided to visit me one day, i accepted her with open arms as i had gotten truly bored having to do nothing but just stare at the stars. She seemed a bit shy like it was her first time leaving her own universe but making out her courage she decided to speak up and told me she wanted to exchange information about discoveries we had made, Of course just because we are loved by the universe it does not mean we know everything about it atleast i don't. Although she was a bit too straightforward i did not mind it too much but instead i was ashamed to tell her that all i had been doing was looking at stars so i decided to give some information related to some other Monarchs that had visited me.
Unlike the other Monarchs that tried to hold as much informationt to themselves she taught me many things about the features that the Universe holds. Atleast they were enough to keep me happy and not bored all the time, She taught me how to spectate worlds and mess with them how i liked, which made me trust her as a reliable Friend that helped me out when i was in need.
But one day everything changed that would turn my fate upside down forever.
"Umm.. Do you want to make bet?" She said to me while looking at me with a weird light in her eyes.
"What kind of bet?" And me being the dense idiot i am i agreed to her. After all the trust i held on her was too great.
"Yay!!.. Let's see let's see. Oh i got it, how about we pick a star and guess how much longer they will live for?"
"Sure im okay with that" I wouldn't have agreed so easily if i did not believe on my skills, after all i had been looking at stars and waching them blow up for countless years and my opponent was someone who had never taken that big of an interest in observing stars so to me this seemed like a piece of cake.
The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
"Hehe you're the best!!. Which star should we pick, I will let you choose" Again she looked at me with those weird eyes but i did not mind i just thought she was excited for this.
"Okay i will take you upon that offer" I said as i was laughing in my mind feeling super confident with myself
"How about that giant red one?" After i spent sometime looking i decided to find one that would blow up soon in a couple billion years.
"Sure that one looks pretty, but how about we make it that the loser has to obey one wish of the winner? After all without a punishment bets are no fun"
"About that.. I guess im okay with it" I agreed to her although my instincts were going on an alarm i decided to ignore them, after all there was no way i would lose in my own universe and it even was a bet in the topic i was most talented on.
"Okay the person who is the closest to the right answer wins, who should go first?"
"I will go first, you let me pick the star so i will guess first" I started observing the star with all of my focus, I started measuring the width and feeling the heat that came of it. I did that until i came up with a number that i was confident in.
"Im guessing 3.4 Billion" That was the number i was confident on, i thought there was no way that she could even get close to that estimate unless she decided to copy me, and like i had thought she copied me.
"Wow we really think the same don't we, I was thinking 3.3 Billion" Although she copied me, I just could not get mad at her lovely face when she smiled. At the same time i was confident that i would definitely win this bet, until the day the star exploded came.
"Thi.. THIS CAN'T BE!!" I stared wide eyed at that beautiful explosion but i did not have time to admire the view as the person that made me shout like this sudennly appeared behind me.
"Yayyy!! It looks like i won this bet my friend, as for the punishment i will be nice to you and give you a light punishment by turning you into a mortal" Now i finally saw her true face, that bright smile of hers had turned into an evil grin, Her eyes had turned cold, colder than anything around me. When i looked at her only one sentence came to mind.
"Who are you?"
