“Wh… at…?”
What is this? No, what happened? I was sure that I had no legs for two years and yet, here they are. I softly stroked the skin and my sense of touch could be felt with the legs.
I could sense the touch from my hands to my legs, clearly stating that the nerves were connected. Wasn’t technology not that advanced to have the medication to regrow torn body parts? I can confidently say this because my legs that were amputated were in a terrible shape and if it was possible to reattach, along with the nerves, then I could walk after hospitalization, which is of course impossible.
I tried moving the two regrown legs to see if I could move them freely. Sad to say, it was very hard. I could move the thighs no problem, but the lower parts where it were amputated were very hard to move. Was it because I hadn’t had legs for the two years?
Wait… What the heck am I saying…?
“WHY THE HELL DO I HAVE LEGS!!!”
My shout echoed throughout the house, causing a chain reaction where my sister would, anytime now, barge in here and give me a scolding, and I was right. She kicked the door open, literally, and glared at me.
“WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU SHOUTING FOR BROTHER!? EHHH!??”
When she glared at me like I was an insect, she noticed my two regrown legs and stood stupefied and shocked. By the way, our mother is working abroad to afford our school and daily life finances.
“Wha—WHY THE HELL DO YOU HAVE LEGS!?”
Are you seriously shouting at me for having legs? A typical loudmouth sister for you, but still…
“WHAT ARE YOU SHOUTING AT ME FOR!?”
I’m not calm. This situation is far from normal, so of course I’m nervous and anxious, as well as a little bit joyful for having legs again.
After shouting at each other, the both of us calmed down. It took about 10 more exchange of yells and shouts, which then caused our neighbor to shout at us to be quiet at the dead of night.
“Bert, I’m sorry for earlier, but can you explain?”
Bea looked me in the eyes with all of her seriousness. Seeing that she was very serious unlike the other times when she was just a happy-go lucky person, she really wanted to know the cause.
“I don’t know, but when I realized that I had my legs back, a game-like message appeared in front of me saying that I became a participant of something.”
Bea had question marks over her head. Even though she appears to be a happy-go lucky person, she is actually very sharp in times of need and other destructive situations.
“Game-like? Is it like the novels where the MC gets a floating message in front of them and receives cheat-power?”
“Something like that…”
I was not surprised about the calmness of Bea and mine. We knew each other since birth and shared the same womb at the same time so for us it’s like communicating with complete understanding with one another.
“Mu… Nevermind that, for now, can you walk?”
If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
“Not yet. Can’t even move my legs properly.”
Once that she ascertained that there is no use in further pursuing the thing about the game-like message, the first thing that she asked me was about whether I can use my legs to walk or not. She looked at me with anticipation, but then became disappointed.
“Don’t worry, after a few days or weeks, I can probably walk again because I know that these legs are connected to my spine.”
“Yeah… Right, but let me call a doctor first.”
“Only Dr. Tsukasa. I don’t trust the other doctors.”
Dr. Tsukasa is a doctor from Japan who moved into our neighborhood and did his job at a well-known hospital an hour drive from here. He was the only one who had friendly chats with me while the other doctors and nurses looked at me with pity.
“Sure thing. I wonder what his reaction will be like when he sees your two legs?”
Just like that, Bea walked out of the room and began calling Dr. Tsukasa to come over. Thankfully, he has the day off and can quickly come over to our house.
[Congratulations!!! You have been selected as a participant of the “World Reformation” Event!!!]
I wonder what this means…?

A few minutes later, Dr. Tsukasa came over with his casual clothes on. He was a man in his prime who loved talking with other people and had a kind personality.
“Excuse me for intruding, Coli Bea.”
“Please don’t be so formal Dr. Tsukasa. Come in please.”
Dr. Tsukasa came inside our house after taking of his shoes and leaving it on the doorstep. It looks like his Japanese culture of leaving shoes outside still lingers.
“Good evening Bert. I heard that something unbelievable happen, but first, may I sit down?”
“Feel free.”
“Thank you.”
Dr. Tsukasa laid his bottom on the couch and stared directly into my direction, mostly, into my legs.
“Bert, how did your legs grow back? As far as I’m concerned, humans don’t have the anatomy to regrow lost limbs like lizards.”
Putting his hand on his chin and stroking his beard, his eyes behind his glasses tried to look deep inside my heart.
“Old man, your habits are showing up.”
“Oops, please forgive this old man.”
He stifled up a chuckle while apologizing in a sarcastic manner. On the surface he seems to be a kind uncle, but on the inside, he is a researcher in the strictest of ways. His kind and talkative behavior is just a front to gather data from the patients, including me, but that’s what makes him trustworthy.
“Anyways, I don’t know how this happened. I only found out when I just woke up after fainting.”
“Oh my? Are you alright?”
“Do I look like I have any problems?”
The exchange of sarcastic and toxic remarks came and went at the blink of an eye. This is our usual behavior when communicating when the two of us are alone. Bea is the only person who knows about our interactions with each other.
“But something tells me that there is something yet to be told from you. Are you hiding something?”
The gaze that looks like it can go deep into your core and reveal all of your secrets pierce through me.
“You are an unlikable old man.”
“Why thank you.”
Once again, he stifled up a chuckle. Bea wasn’t listening to our conversation as she was preparing dinner for me and the guest.
“Moving on, do you know a phenomenon where a message appears in front of your eyes like a game?”
“Hmm…?”
Dr. Tsukasa made a curious face as he stared directly into my eyes.
“A game-like message… Do you mean a Dialogue Box like in RPG games?”
“Yes, that’s the one.”
“As far as I know, none. Did the light refract, or did you just see a hallucination?”
If another person heard what I said to Dr. Tsukasa and Bea, they would label me as a crazy person no doubt.
Just as we were getting into the main point, the light went dark.
“Well damn… Another black out, this neighborhood really is special.”
“Oh shut up. Go back to Japan if this’ inconvenience you that much.”
The usual toxic remarks were exchanged within the dark while Bea was busy cooking with a flashlight in hand.
Bam Bam Bam
Suddenly, the earth shook.
“Earthquake!? It’s strong!”
“Idiot kid, this isn’t an earthquake!”
“Kyaaa!!!”
A shout resounded within the kitchen while both of us were occupied with the shock the tremor. Dr. Tsukasa quickly went behind me and pushed the wheelchair towards the kitchen where the faint light from the flashlight showed a figure of a small green child holding a wooden spear piercing the leg of Bea.
Blood oozed out from where the spear pierced and Bea held a pained expression while holding down her voice.
What… WHAT ARE YOU…
“WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING TO MY SISTER!!!”
