Maddie was simply sat outside, on the backsteps of her parent’s house. She could’ve sat on the top step, which had the lip of the house, which would’ve covered her from the rain. But she didn’t care, really. She sat there, drenched and looking up at the sky.
Upon hearing the door open, she turned her head towards what was Jackie. Standing there with a blank look on her face, hand against the frame of it.

Jackie continued to not say a word and just walked forward, joining the girl on the step. Sitting there along with her.
Maddie was glad that it was raining. It helped hide the tears.
