Modern Family: The Dream
What's going on??

What's going on??

[Alarm sound]

The loud, intrusive sound of the alarms reverberated through the room, instantly jolting Jackson from his slumber. With a groggy expression, he fumbled around, trying to locate the source of the noise, only to realize that his phone had been in his pocket all along.

"Why is there an alarm? I never use alarms," he grumbled, puzzled by the unexpected disturbance. His eyes scanned the unfamiliar room, and a sense of confusion washed over him.

"where did the alarm come from, I don't have an alarm?" he questioned, glancing towards the table near the bed. The realization dawned on him—this was certainly not his room.

"And I certainly don't live in a big house like this," he muttered, his anxiety growing as he looked out of the window to the vast yard beyond.

Without wasting a moment, he rushed outside, only to be greeted by a grand hallway leading to multiple rooms and a descending staircase.

"I never had stairs this big. Where the heck am I?" he wondered aloud, his heart pounding in his chest.

Before he could fully comprehend his situation, a voice rang out, "Good morning, young master Jackson." Startled, he turned to see a butler approaching him.

"Who are you?" Jackson asked, his confusion growing.

"It's me, Reginald, young master. Your butler. What happened? Are you perhaps ill?" Reginald inquired with genuine concern, stepping closer to inspect Jackson.

"No, I'm fine. I just had this terrible headache. I'll just need some time to myself," Jackson replied, attempting to mask his disorientation.

As he tried to leave the house, he was suddenly overcome by a searing pain in his head, causing him to clutch his temples in agony.

"YOUNG MASTER, ARE YOU ALRIGHT?" Reginald rushed to his side, offering support as Jackson endured the excruciating pain.

"Fuck, my head hurts so bad, Reginald," he said, gritting his teeth, the intensity of the pain almost unbearable.

"Don't worry, young master. I'll bring you back to your bedroom and get you some medicine right away," Reginald reassured him, guiding Jackson carefully to his room.

Once inside, Jackson was placed gently on the bed, but the pain only intensified, threatening to engulf him. He muttered, "Reginald, I don't feel so good. It's like I'm passing out."

Alarmed, Reginald hurriedly tried to fetch the medicine, but before he could step out, he heard Jackson's voice weaken and then a soft thud as he lost consciousness.

"YOUNG MASTER!" Reginald rushed back to Jackson's side, checking his pulse anxiously. Relieved to find him stable, he quickly left to retrieve the medicine, making sure to return as swiftly as possible.

(Jackson's POV)

Darkness surrounded me, but it was strangely calm, devoid of any eerie feelings. Suddenly, a voice called out my name, echoing through the void. I tried to find its source, but the darkness offered no clues.

"Don't bother trying to find me. This is a pre-recorded message meant for you after you've reached the world," the voice explained.

I was confused. A pre-recorded message? reach the world? What's he talking about?

"I know you're confused, and that's the reason I left you this message. First, let me talk about where you currently are. You're in another world, or, to be more specific, the Modern Family world."

In a state of utter bewilderment, I stood there, intently listening to the voice that disclosed the unthinkable truth: I had tragically died in a harrowing accident while cycling desperately to the hospital to find my girlfriend, Jen. My heart sank as I learned that her claims of being there were nothing but elaborate lies; instead, she was reveling in a wild party with her friends, shamelessly accompanied by another man as her date.

If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

The emotional maelstrom within me left me momentarily speechless, my heart torn apart by a bewildering blend of profound hurt and betrayal.

I must be a fucking idiot to have not noticed the changes she has made in the past few weeks.

Now that I'm dead, I think it's better this way. But what did the voice say about me going to the Modern Family world? Is it like transmigration? or perhaps reborn?

"No, you were transmigrated; reborn is when you are born again but in a different world. Same concept, but a big difference."

But why a modern family? I only saw a few episodes of that show. And isn't it supposed to be like, I choose which world I will go to? and that I get some perks.

"Your karma had been relatively scarce, leaving you with limited eligibility for reincarnation. I had trouble deciding which world would be most suitable for you. After much contemplation, I spun the wheel of destinies, each segment representing a different world."

"Given the amount of karma you possessed, the options on the wheel were restricted to humanity-centric worlds. These worlds, though lacking in the supernatural aspect, hold their own charm and offer a myriad of opportunities for growth, exploration, and connection. While they may appear ordinary at first glance, it's often the subtleties and complexities of such worlds that allow for profound experiences and meaningful journeys."

Oh wow, so much information to take in, but do I get per-

"And about your perks, because of your limited amount of karma, the only perks you got were Peak human endurance and musical genius."

Okay, that's cool. With peak human endurance, I can achieve some things with that. But what about the music genius?

"You'll understand it after you wake up." Okay, now I'm starting to get the feeling that these messages are not pre-recorded anymore. It's like answering my question like it's listening.

"Well, that's because I'm God and I've already seen the future, so I knew you would be asking me questions like that."

Oh, that makes more sense now with how you answer my questions, like it's not pre-recorded at all.

"That would be all. When you wake up, your memory of this conversation will be wiped clean. Instead, you'll only retain the knowledge of your transmigration into this new world, along with your inherent perks and the memories of the body you now inhabit. Embrace this chance at a fresh start and cherish your second life. In this journey, I ask for one favor: seize the opportunity to pursue your dreams this time and also honor the aspirations and wishes of the body you now occupy, as a gesture of gratitude for this unique opportunity."

Then, all of a sudden, I woke up and was met with a glaring light. As I looked around my surroundings, I found a glass of water near the table.

I took it, drank all of its content, and took in the moment to contemplate all the things I'd learned.

First, I have transmigrated to The Modern Family world in this 12-year-old body. And my current name is Jackson Woods, with no parents, as they apparently died in an accident together with my sister, leaving me alone.

But it's a good thing I still have a butler and money. Apparently, my dad is a famous Movie director, and my mother was the owner of a quite famous Sports company.

With such an inheritance, I pretty much won't have any problem living a carefree life.

"Young master, I'm glad you're awake. I have here your medicine. Please take it." As he gave it to me, I tossed it into my mouth and drank water to swallow it.

Then I slowly stood up and walked towards the bathroom and heard Reginald say, "Young master, are you sure you can walk properly?" as he asked with concern.

"I'm okay, Reginald. I think I just needed that sleep. You may leave the room." As Reginald went and picked up the glass of wine, he said,

"Certainly, young master, call me if you need help," he said as he did a quick bow and left the room.

Then I went ahead and went inside the bathroom and found the mirror by the sink. I took a quick look at myself, but then I was very surprised.

"What the heck, why do I look like Onoda Sakamichi!?" as I take a look at my skinny body with those nerdy glasses.

Don't get me wrong; I like his skills as a cyclist, but his body and looks aren't exactly what I would want in a body.

"Well, it's not like he's the real Onoda; he just looks like Onoda, and this body isn't even interested in cycling but in music to begin with," I think to myself as I realize why I have a Music Genius perk. Originally, this body was gifted with music. And it was only after I took over his body that it reached genius status.

I walked outside the bathroom towards the window and took a look outside. as I gaze out at the surrounding houses that are visible from my window.

"Why does this neighborhood seem familiar to me?" as I took my time to observe and find out why it's familiar to me.

Then it occurred to me, "That's where the Dunphy's live as well; wow, to think they live in Cheviot Hills and we are even in the same neighborhood."

Then I remembered about my other perk, Peak Human Endurance. From the information in my head, imagine having a human being who's endurance has reached the peak of what a human is capable of genetically.

So, basically, I have the best endurance. Heck, I might even have more endurance than David Goggins, the man recognized as the hardest motherfucker in the world. I chuckle at myself for thinking such nonsense.

As I watched the kids outside ride bikes, it made me nostalgic "to think that even after getting transmigrated to another world, that desire I buried deep inside me would still be there, trying to break free" as I thought about my dream in my past life.

To be the greatest cyclist

"Well, with such talent, how could I possibly waste such a chance? Heck, I even looked like the MC of an anime about cycling, so I guess I have no choice," I said as I chuckled, closed the windows, and went outside the room.
