Prologue

Everdawn.

It was a game that was released to the public in 2025. What made it a hit was that it was the first-ever V.R.M.M.O.R.P.G released to the public. In no time it became the best game in the world.

Soon people started to create things called "guilds". These guilds were like the teams in E-Sports. However, if I was being honest they were more like companies. This was thanks to the game's "money" feature where you could trade in-game money for IRL cash.

I was also a part of one of these guilds. In fact I was an elite member.

The key word here is "was"

Looking at the piece of paper in front of me I clenched my teeth.

"As you can see here," the man pointed at a certain section of the contract "you've violated this agreement thus allowing us to terminate you immediately,"

I wanted to deny the scene in front of me however, I knew this wasn't a dream or anything of the like.

Bullshit.

That's what this was.

This was complete and utter bullshit.

I looked at the signature that was obviously mine however, I knew what exactly was going on. The man sitting in front of me was the leader of our guild. From what I could recall he started off with ruff with his company until he played Everdawn and created the Valhalla guild.

If it wasn't for me this bastard wouldn't be able to drive his fancy sports cars!

"Also as a consequence, we're taking your account,"

Hearing this I slammed the table "Don't fuck with me!"

A smile appeared on his face "I suggest you calm down,"

I clenched my fists as I looked at the papers that were tossed toward me.

"Sign these,"

Entering my large mansion I slammed the door behind me.

"Those fuckers! I swear I'll fucking kill them," Cursing up a storm I started to throw the things around my house until I had destroyed everything…well almost everything.

Looking up I saw a picture of a man and woman who had 2 kids standing in front of them my anger had subsided a little which gave way to regret.

5 years ago my father died from lung cancer. This wasn't a surprise as the old man smoked like crazy however, I didn't attend his funeral. That was because we had gotten into a major fight and we both said some terrible things a few years earlier.

Some might say that we were both at fault.

If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.

However, as I stared at the young girl next to the younger me I knew that in fact I was the one who was in the wrong.

The simple reason for our fight was that I was stupid and thought I could do anything.

It wasn't until I was kicked out of university that my world really started to crumble. But it was also thanks to that I was able to play Everdawn.

"Damn it," Getting up I walked toward the VR room I had.

As the game became more successful the company behind it made a VR pod which was way better than the helmets they had made. But the VR Pod was expensive as hell.

Entering my pod I passed all of my scans and logged into the world of Everdawn.

As I tried to enter my information I was denied access.

"Shit!"

I quickly blazed through the character creation after creating a new account.

Opening my eyes again I looked around to see the familiar houses that I had seen a long-time ago…in the starter towns.

"No," I quickly opened my status window.

"FUCK!" I tossed the beginner staff in my hands on the ground.

All that hard work is gone.

My sleepless nights of grinding!

My unique spells!

My Equipment!

All just…gone.

However, as the despair was setting in I received a notification.

[You've been sent a gift]

"A gift?"

Opening up the gift my eyes widened as a small status window appeared in my hand.

Item: Chronos' Feather

Type: Accessory (Necklace)

Tier: Rare

Description: A single, pure white feather believed to have belonged to Chronos, the angelic guardian of time. Though unassuming, it holds a faint warmth and a sense of serenity.

"That son of a bitch!"

This item was something I had received from a quest from the church. However, this item had nothing special about it and I couldn't even sell it.

I knew what this was.

It was a taunt.

Checking the player who sent it I instantly became even more pissed.

"That's it! I'm gonna destroy that guild!" I vowed and ignored the people around me who were looking at me weirdly.

In front of a bar, a man was kicked out.

"Damn you too you son of a bitch!" Getting up from the ground I stumbled as I tried to find a way home.

It was hopeless.

Everdawn was a game that had been released for many years now. This meant many quests and items were already taken this also included the EXP grinding spots.

The spots were monopolized by the guilds and if anyone tried to go in them without permission then they'd be killed.

While there was a rule in place it still didn't help me.

I was only able to get up to level 8 in 4 hours of killing monsters compared to the rest who probably took 2 to 1 hour to level up to level 10.

Now I could probably join another guild however, that bastard had set a term that if I joined another guild I'd get sued for everything I had.

"Just give me a chance…" I muttered as I looked into the sky

Just one more chance that's all I needed.

I then looked at the necklace that was around my neck. This was a replica of the Chronos' Feather that I had. It was something I made when the money started to come in.

However, just as I was about to walk away it started to rain.

"Of all the times," But just as I was cursing a bright flash hit me before my vision turned black.

RING

RING

My eyes twitched as I heard the alarm rang.

'What the hell is going on?'

Moving my arm to the right I tapped the alarm clock to shut it off.

'Finally some piece'

But suddenly my eyes opened and I immediately got up. Looking around the room a sense of familiarity filled me.

"This…place,"

This place was my dorm room for my university days.

But…that was almost 14 years ago.

"What the hell is going on?"
