Chapter 1- The "Angel"

“Congratulations! Another successful show again Angel. When you walked down that runway, you just brought life in to it!”
Huh, the same words again. I have heard these words more than a thousand times. I’m so used to it that I don’t mind it anymore. I just keep on smiling at these people who I don’t even know.
“Angel! You’re here. Come with me. I’ll introduce you to someone”. My manager appeared out of nowhere. Maybe she’ll introduce me to some big shots again. I just hope it is not some dirty old man who thinks that I’ll want him for his money. I’m so not in the mood to deal with this type of people.
“Who is it this time Manager Ang? I am tired and I just want to have a proper sleep. I hope it’s not a dirty old man again”, I asked her. She’s walking very fast while holding me. “Slow down. I am wearing a 10-inch heels.”
“Sorry, I am just very excited. I want to introduce you to this very special person. Him being here is our fortune. He can make you famous just being seen with him.” Manager Ang looks very excited. I frowned. Who could be this person?

We went to the second floor where all the VIP guests stay. Its very different from the noisy party downstairs. This place is elegant and clearly very expensive. The lights are low and someone is playing a piano in the center. I couldn’t see the people’s faces.
“Where exactly are we going?” I asked her again. We just pass by the center and are entering a narrow, black door. “What is this place?” It’s very dark and I couldn’t hear a thing. There are no lights.
“Just keep moving forward,” she answered me. Her hold on me tightens.
“What exactly is happening here Manager Ang?”. I am getting scared, who likes to be brought in a dark narrow space? Only one person can fit, one at a time. I am walking behind her. If only she is not my manager for ten years, I wouldn’t trust her. The industry I’m working in is very dirty.
“I don’t like this at all!” I snap at her.
“Be patient Angel. I’m doing this for you.” She answered me seriously.
“I see a light!” I exclaimed happily. As we reached the area, I can see a group of doors. Five of them.
“Let’s go in!”, she told me. “Where are we going?”, now I am very curious. I think that the doors are inlaid with diamonds? I blink my eyes.
“Oh! It’s real diamonds!”, I can’t help but touch the diamonds. I can say that I am an expert in these things. I have received countless diamonds since my modelling career. I am getting more curious. Who in their right mind would put diamonds in their door? It is just wasting money. Jeez!
“Who are this people Manager Ang? To display such extravagance? I think the Master of the Lao Family cannot do this kind of thing.” The Lao family is the richest and most powerful family in country O. The yare known for their mining business.
“You are in for a surprise!”, she grins at me while slowly twisting the knob of the door in the center.
