Chapter 1:

I just died from a from a truck hitting me and met the mischievous god Loki who reincarnated me for his entertainment purposes. He said he will leave "gifts" for me. I was Max Smith, I had average grades, was average at athletics and average looks. I was 18 years old and was in my last year of high school, I liked anime, light novels and manga, which I talked about with my friends.

Now I'm a dungeon crystal/core. I'm speechless and I seriously don't know what to do. I was thinking about some light novels where the protagonist reincarnates into a dungeon when I see a white light appear in front of me. It then spoke saying " I was sent here by Lord Loki to be your partner and teach you the ways of dungeons." It then shapes itself into a female with long blonde hair, blue eyes, porcelain-clay skin with a figure, models will be jealous of.

I asked it " What are you?"

It answered " I'm a Spectral, dungeons normally have a spectral which briefly explain to them about the way of dungeons before leaving. Loki let me be your partner for your whole life as one of your 'gifts'. Spectrals can be incorporeal but can also manifest as a solid body. We can also fight which I say I'm pretty good at. " She says with a angry voice.

"Hey I didn't tell him to send you and stay permanently here, don't be angry at me. I'm Max what's your name?"

She glares at me before sighing and saying " I'm Lucy nice to meet you."

I then get on to the real business " So what do I do as a dungeon?"

She replies saying" Ok I'll start at the basics, most dungeons have souls in them, some newborn souls others old. Only a few rare souls still have memories of their previous life like you. This means there are good dungeons and bad dungeons. Then there are the corrupt dungeons, these are the dungeons with no souls that only want to eat. These dungeons don't need a spectral to explain to them as their instincts guide them."

I process the information before thinking about the word 'eat'. I ask her " What do you mean by eat?"

She looks at me and says " Dungeons absorb mana which makes them stronger. Most of the monsters they have are created by their mana and have no souls. Wild monsters and animals can join the dungeon as one of the 2 things, dungeon soul monsters or inhabitants. Dungeon soul monster are pretty much the same as the monsters you create with mana, they never truly die they just come back, but they have souls and have a re-spawn time for when they die. They can also procreate creating for monsters for you. Inhabitants live in the dungeon and use your presence to get stronger in exchange for it fighting for you. They can leave at anytime and can die. As for how you eat, it is when a living thing other than your monsters die. You eat/absorb their essence which you use to evolve and upgrade."

Hearing this makes me as excited as a child. " So how to I evolve or upgrade?"

Lucy answers by saying "Just check your status screen."

I got so excited I would have jumped crazily if I had a body. I then ask "How do open the screen and check skills."

She replies " Say open screen and for skills say show and the skill name."

I say " Open Screen."

I look at my status screen and feel amazed. I thought I much better mana and health than dungeons until Lucy interrupted that thought by saying " All dungeons start off with 1000 health and 10000 mana."

Disappointed, I say in a dejected tone " Lucy I have 4 skills, create/shape/destroy dungeon, create monster, create traps level 1 and dungeon shop."

She replies " Check your skills except dungeon shop, leave that for later."

I say " Show Create/Shape/Destroy Dungeon, Show Create Monster and finally Show Create Traps Level."

Create/Shape/Destroy DungeonThis skill allows to create rooms,passages,halls,dungeon levels and etc. It lets you shape to however you like and however big.

Create MonsterYou use mana to create monsters. The amount of mana depends on what monster your creating and the amount. You can only create monsters you started off with and bought from the dungeon shop. Dungeon soul monsters use your mana to re-spawn. After buying the next monster evolution you can choose to create the evolved form of the monster for more mana. Creating the dungeon floor boss cost more mana and will only be the evolved from of the monsters you have on the floor.

Create Traps Level 1You can only create traps of the same level as your skill. Higher level traps have to be bought from the store. The only current trap is the Pitfall Trap. Some traps might be unlocked by getting monsters.

I learned a lot about the skills. "Lucy what is the dungeon shop skill."

"The dungeon shop skill is where you get upgrades like evolve monsters/traps. You can also buy new traps from the shop. It also allows you to buy more monsters. It also has other features but you don't have to worry about the dungeon shop now. Let's get focused on creating your dungeon. I'll send you the monster list which you will choose your starting monster from."

After viewing my choices I was dumbfounded. I didn't know what to pick. So I asked Lucy." I wouldn't choose goblins, zombies, demons they both have set different paths to take with defined evolutions. But people hate goblins because they rape, and they aren't that smart so people will try to destroy you. Demons and zombies will get the holy churches attention, and even though they are strong the church will stop at nothing to destroy you. Slimes and spiders have set different paths and undefined evolution. Slimes are stupid and slow while spiders are smart but too weak. Wolfs are smart with set different paths and defined evolutions. They are also strong. Lastly the monsters that are hardly ever chosen, larvae and tadpoles. They are weak with undefined paths and evolutions. They are extremely weak and need to be evolved to get stronger. They have the most potential. To even it out your mana lets them evolve to a certain degree in which they can go kill by themselves. If you're going to choose one of them choose larva because tadpoles need water which makes dungeon shaping harder."

I thought about it for a while before saying "I think I will choose wolf."

"Good, that's what most people choose." Lucy looks around "Also lets building your dungeon."

I say "I choose Wolf."

Choose your second starting monster

Surprised I asked Lucy " Lucy, am I supposed to have a second starting monster."

Her expression changes to a surprised expression before exclaiming " No, all dungeons start with one, it's not supposed to be possible! Unless...." She ponders about something before telling me " I think I know what's happening, this is probably one of Loki's' "gifts" to you. Choose your second monster."

Listening to what she said, I think about what my second monster should be. "I think my second monster should be Larvae. What do you think?"

She quickly replies " That is a good decision, the wolves are strong and can defend you well while the larvae can grow in safety."

I say "I choose Larvae." after listening to her advice.

You have choosen both Wolf and Larva as your starting monsters

From now on you can create level 1 wolves for 20 mana

From now on you can create level 1 larvae for 1 mana

A myriad of notifications pop up. I then try creating a wolf and a larva. I felt something draining from me which I'm guessing is my mana and I see a wolf and a larva pop up in front of me.

I feel happy because I created my first monsters. Lucy says " Lets begin the dungeon creating process."
