[DREAM]
Valerie Elena Adler was about to tiptoe on the path of burning coals of what was going to be the most regretted decision of her life. The 14 year-old girl wanted a chance at being a superhero and being recognized by the public as a legend as memorable as Captain America or Black Widow.
Powers weren't required to be a superhero, but how could the young and naive girl learn what being a true hero meant when she was only at the beginning of the journey? Her dumb self was so prepared to dive into the world of being a superhero that she could never realize that she would drown in the overwhelms of the consequences that came with her irrational decision.
Teenagers, while having had assumptions give meaning to their entire existence, also had truths define them. More specifically, they were known to make rash decisions if their childhood lives weren't beautiful with normalcy and morals and love.
Nevertheless, Valerie was born with these powers, and for presumed reasons as well. Her father had powers as well, but she never knew who her dad was. All she knew was that she was nowhere near the ideal girl as strange occurrences followed her along wherever she went.
Since her body had to develop its different senses and parts, her powers had to do the same. For the first 5 years of her life, nothing too crazy happened around her. When she grew older, that was when the oddities started.
These continuous incidents allowed Valerie to notice a pattern, and one defining shock shook up her view of herself in a matter of minutes when she was 11 years old.
As of the matters at hand in the time of Spring in New York City, Valerie was at one of the highest vantage points: Oscorp. Quite ironic, as she hated the current CEO and his son of the company. She wore an eye-catching suit, the main colours consisting of white and violet.
To summarize the present extent of her powers, they could be categorized into two: Mind Control and the Light.
The Light allowed her to fly, create 6 cm daggers from her bare hands as if light was consistently rushing through her veins and shoot energy blasts.
The Mind Control allowed her, to well, control the minds of people. She also had the ability to witness their highest hopes and their darkest fears. These two abilities had their shortcomings, as all things should.
The Light, if used, required Valerie's energy. So, if she ran out of energy, the possibility of consuming her powers were diminished unless she gained some stamina.
Her Mind Control ability could only be used if she was allowed to touch the victim, and that wasn't usually plausible when she was fighting enemies from a long range and with a fast pace.
Either way, her powers weren't the only things giving her strength. From training with Clint Barton (her mother's old associate) and few short-lived courses including Ballet and self-defense, she could also knock out her enemies with melee attacks.
For a teenager as the creator of this suit, it was pretty spectacularly designed with meticulous details, as if it was Uncharted 4 or GTA V.
Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
The first noticeable colour was ice white, as that represented the Light. It showed that she was a symbol of hope even in the dead of the night.
The other colour was midnight violet, which represented the mysteriousness of her existence. No one knew if she was even human; some believed that she was an E.T and some believed that she was... anything but a human.
The only reason why she was able to make the suit so stunning was because she had to rob her mom of some of her wealth.
Although she wasn't victim to having doomed parents, she was never close to either of her family members and she probably would never be.
She heard sirens overpowering the other noises in the busy city, and she believed that this was her time to make her debut and build a persona which was nothing like her real identity so she could protect her imperfect life in case the destiny of her alias went south-
[END OF DREAM]
Almost falling off the stool in her Chemistry class, the dreaming darling named Valerie got pulled back into an unfortunate reality by her best and only friend, Peter Benjamin Parker. "Valerie, what is your addiction to dozing off in Chemistry class? It's not even that hard."
Offended and angered by the comment, she showed her emotions by squinting her eyes and chucking the pencil at Peter's face (directly at his forehead even though she was still struggling to adjust to the sunlight in her line of sight) and spoke, "Peter, my wonderful, Jesus-loving, perfect friend, not everyone is as smart as you. You have to be trash at one subject in order to be good at other ones. For me, it's be trash at all subjects while being good at one."
"Valerie, you just need to try. From what I know, you pretended to be dyslexic at one point because you didn't want to memorize the Periodic table and Pythagoras Theorem, and how did that work out? You were suspended for a week. I get good grades because I study and put in hard work," Peter threw shade at his friend in an attempt to make her understand that hard work always brought success.
After hearing that comment, she closed the notebook full of doodles and smacked Peter's arm with it as a response before rebutting, "Hard work, my ass! Once, you forgot to study for a Biology exam worth 50 percent of our grade and you got an A-. If anyone else did that, they would fail no matter what. Let's face the facts, country boy. You are verified in the eyes of God and you're perfect. I'm not, so my entire existence means nothing."
Just as he was about to refute, the bell rang and everyone pushed past each other to leave the class. The duo took their time and Peter gave his opinion, "Valerie, I love your self-hatred humor, but stop trying to flatter me and bring yourself down. I paid attention in class, that's why I managed to get a good grade."
"Peter, you're a literal prodigy. Your father was... a genius, and so are you. My dad is non-existent, and so am I. We've been friends since the third grade, but that doesn't mean that we're not two completely different people," Valerie stumbled into personal territory, as she wanted Peter not to be humble for once in his life instead of denying the truth.
He decided not to answer as he had nothing to refuse within that statement, and Valerie led them both on the path to the exit of the school. As they kept walking, Peter was looking anywhere but forward and he didn't realize that his friend was walking at a significantly faster pace than him.
In Valerie's perspective, she noticed her friend Karla at her own locker and she started walking towards her to converse with her as she hadn't talked to her in a while. When she caught up to her, she tapped her shoulder and greeted, "Karla! It's been a while, hasn't it? Why don't we catch up over a cup of coffee?"
Much to Valerie's shock, Karla wasn't really willing to speak to the person she was forced not to consider a friend anymore, so she only said 9 words, "Sorry, I won't be your friend anymore. Bye for now."
Fortunate for Peter, he was able to catch up to his now dumbfounded friend to hear the short conversation, but he felt bad when he saw Karla completely kill Valerie's mood and sashay away with no remorse.
"I'm sorry. Side note, I never really liked her, and you have me, so you'll be fine," Peter attempted to normalize the situation with a peppy tone, but Valerie traded her shock for another quip originated from her classic self-deprecating humor.
"Don't worry, country boy. I'm used to being shut out by literally everyone in my life, so Karla is just another one of those... shutters. Anyways, can I be lonely for the rest of the way?" she falsely cackled and asked the question as an excuse to adopt her alter ego for the day.
Being the oblivious lover he was, he let her have her somewhat unneeded space and she flew to the rooftop when no one was looking to change into her suit.
