Chapter 16

Etia woke up in Alan's embrace. She didn't remember what happened last night until she saw empty bottles of wine—a few of them. That sight enlightened her about yesterday's happenings.

— Good morning. — Alan opened his eyes and spoke. He always woke up before, or not long after, Etia. — Did you sleep well?

— Yes. — Etia's hair was messy after her and Alan's celebration.

— I have some work to do. — Alan got up and dressed. — We'll meet later.

He ran out of the room and left Etia alone.

— Why can't he stay longer? — She was regretful that he had to leave, but understood that they could live in this house because of his job. — Let's get up.

Etia was hired as a teacher. Mayor Ux needed someone to teach his twins, but didn't want to send them to a school. Etia insisted she didn't even finish the first year of university, but Jaon wanted her as a teacher, nonetheless.

This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.

Etia stood up and made the bed. After getting together with Alan, she took care of the house much more than before their fated encounter.

— So, I have to teach them how math? That's going to be easy. — Etia was surprised that this was all she had to do.

— Yes. You're very talented, and I know it. There are many teachers, but none are as smart as you. — Eura Ux was positive she would be the best person for the job. — Other than that, you're the cheapest option we have.

The mayor was already providing them with a house and all necessities, so Etia and Alan could be paid less than ordinary workers. They couldn't complain because it was a fair trade.

— If that's all, then I don't have a problem. — Etia reached an agreement with the mayor's wife. She was offered a job after expressing her will to help Alan.

— So, these are the children you will be teaching. — Eura showed Etia a picture of two children. They looked about eight years old.

Etia had no idea what she agreed on.
