Chapter 2 [Shane's True Identity]

"Hello, Uhm... I am your new neighbor. My name is Shane Arcea, would you like to be friends? " A little girl with purple hair and bright purple eyes suddenly talked to me, she was cute, base on what I can see, her family must've moved here and is new to this place.

Our mom is talking to each other, and she is extending her hand to me. She probably doesn't have many friends cause she just moved.

"Sure. Let's be friends. " I grabbed her hands and pulled her

"Come with me! I'll take you somewhere fun! " I told her while running

"Eh!? " Surprised by the thing I just said she questioned me

"Where are we going? " She asked

"Somewhere fun, I promised! Trust me it is fun. " I said with confidence

After I said those words, she just silently followed me and after running for a few minutes we reached our destination, This place is my secret base.

"What is this place? " She asked

"This is my secret base, this is where I do experiments with my friends. " I said

"Are you there!? Rose! " I called their name

"Really? Who is she? She's a cute girl, Lite. " Rose suddenly showed up hiding behind the bushes

"Why were you in the bushes? " I asked

"She was trying to see if we could use the sun to tell which direction is North using her new wristwatch. " Bren suddenly showed up too

"Well, whatever, this is Shane our new neighbor. " I introduced her to them

"By the war Shane, I forgot to introduce myself my name is Lite, this is Bren, and she is Rose. " I introduced them to her

"Nice to meet you. " Shane replied

"What is this secret base about? And the thing you guys just said, using your wristwatch to tell which is North, how does that work? " she asked

"Well, this is my secret base. We mostly do our experiment here. " I said

"Experiment? " she asked with a curious face

"Science experiment and stuff, the thing about telling the North using the wristwatch, it will be easier if your watch has an hour hand, now you point the hour hand of your watch directly to the sun, and by doing so clockwise make an angle from the hour hand to the number 12, it has to be clockwise and by cutting the angle in half which means the middle of the hour hand and the number 12 that would be where the south is, then the opposite would be the North, that's how it is. " Bren is the one who explained

"Wow... Are you guys... Geniuses? How do you know this? " She asked with sparkling eyes

"Ah... eh... We're not geniuses hehe, I just saw this on a book about tips for surviving in the wilderness, so I wanted to try it hehe. " Rose is blushing, she must've liked being called genius

"But still! Most adults probably don't know about this! " Her eyes are sparkling more

"Hehe~ really? " Rose really like being complimented

"Well that mostly what we do, we mostly play with what we learn in school, books, or anything that is interesting. so what do you think? " I asked her

"You guys are cool! What else do you do I want to see something cool, " she said so we showed her something that mom showed us

We first get a plate, then we put a candle in the middle of the plate making sure that it was standing, then put we put water, then we lit the candle and cover it with glass. The water slowly rises up inside the glass, as if the glass is sucking it. When I look in her face, I was surprised by what I saw, her smile that I could never forget.

"Wow! This is amazing, how does it work? " she asked us but I was too focused on her smile

"If I remember Lite's mom told us, that fire doesn't burn because it's hot, it burns because there is something to burn, and there are small things called oxygen in the air that the fire needs to burn, by covering the candle the oxygen inside gets burned creating low-pressure inside when there is a now pressure it sucks things to fill the low-pressure area and so the water got sucked because the inside is low-pressure or something like that, I don't understand though. " Bren is the one who answered

"Amazing. You guys must be a genius, then what about you Lite? Do you have something amazing to show me? I mean I learned about using the watch to tell where is North from Rose, and I learned things about low-pressure area sucking things to fill it from Bren, but you haven't thought me any yet. Show me something, please! " her eyes are sparkling beautifully, with a smile on her face, I was astounded by how pretty she is.

"Uhm... " I started to think of something to show her so she could smile longer, my heart started beating fast, my brain suddenly processed all the information that I know, and something special, so that she would be more interested in science and join us so that I can see her smile more... But, I couldn't think of anything... So I ask for her preference so I could more specifically.

"Then, how about you tell me what you like? " I asked her

"I like magnets, they are so interesting, even if blocked the magnet they still attract metals, but sometimes they don't attract other magnets! Show me something about magnets, please! " she told me as soon as she said magnets, one thing comes to mind, that thing I saw in a book, the thing about creating your own magnet.

"So why don't we create a magnet? " I said

"Create a magnet you say. can you really do that Lite? " Bren asked

"True, I have never seen you create one before. " Rose agreed with Lite

Shane became sad after hearing those words, she probably thinks I lied, even though I can actually make one. Well, they did say that support your argument with proof, not facts so I will show them.

"Then let me show you, I remember you need an iron rod, battery, and some copper wires, we have those in the garage let's go. " We rushed to the garage and searched for steel rod and copper wire, we found them after searching for a while.

"It's simple to create a magnet you need to wrap the iron rod in the middle of copper wire make sure that the two ends of the copper wire are long enough to put the battery, the magnet's strength will be dependant on how many times you the iron rod using the copper wire, but the farther the wire is from the rod the weaker gets too, so just 3 wraps should be enough for a fairly good magnet, then a battery, we need to look for a battery to use. " I said while still searching for batteries.

"Here Lite, use this battery and let me see what you'll do. " A familiar voice that I have rarely heard because he always has something to do, it was dad. I rarely see him, but when we did, we always get along and he always shows me amazing stuff.

"Thanks, Dad, now after wrapping the iron rod using the copper wire, we connect the battery at both ends of the wire to magnetized the rod using the electricity of the battery, this rod is small so we only use a battery but with this." I put coin at the rod and showed it to everyone that it was getting attracted by the rod which means we created a magnet

*smirk* Dad just smiled while looking at me, he must've thought that I was amazing

"You're pretty good Lite, where did you learn this? Did your mom teach you? " Dad asked with a smile

"She didn't, I saw it once from a book, I remember the title was about magnets. " I said

"Hmm... Only once eh... Is this book perhaps magnetic attraction and all about physics? Is what the book is called? " Dad asked with a smile

"Yes, I remember that it was one of the books that mom is sorting. Is there a problem? "I answered

"Eh? What did you just say, Lite? " Mom came and asked with a dumbfounded face

"I saw it from one of the books you're sorting mom? "I replied

"Are you telling the truth? "She asked, I felt like I did something bad the others are getting worried too.

"Where else do you think Lite could learn this? They don't have books like that at their school's library and they don't teach kids at the age of 5 those things. " Dad replied to mom's question

"But still, I remember that when I was sorting books the other day, Lite only turned a page or 2 then I took the book from him, after that he left to play outside, he shouldn't have the time to even read a word let alone a whole page. " Mom answered, I don't understand what's going on

"Lite, tell me something, how many elements are there in a periodic table? " Dad asked, but this is my first time hearing the word periodic table...

"What is a periodic table? " I asked

"It's the thing that has a lot of squares with letters written on it, so tell me, how many are the squares that have a letter written to it? " Dad said while mom suddenly said

"He's just a kid how would he know about all these? " Mom said while being confused

"Darling... I know you heard our conversation right? When I asked Lite if you taught him the thing he just did, do you remember what he said? " Dad asked Mom

"What he said? I think it was... Ah! He said that he saw it from a book! Don't tell me that... " Mom's face suddenly became amazed

"Yes, that's what I also think, so answer me Lite, how many elements are there in a periodic table? " Dad asked the same question again

"I remember that I saw something like that from a book, squares that have a lot of letters written... I think there are 118 in total." I said

"Wow... This is amazing. "Mom said

"Why is that amazing? " Rose asked

"Because Lite, just memorize a whole page of a book by a single look without even reading it, even with the help of all scientific device a perfect memory or photographic memory hasn't been proven yet, so we're amazed to Lite. "Mom answered

"Is that really amazing? I can do it too. " Shane said

"Yeah, me too. " Bren said the same thing

"Then let's test it. " Dad stand up and took a book I have never seen before.

"Alright, kids, I'll the page quickly and you to tell me the contents of a single page that you saw. " Dad said to us

"Yes. " Everyone said at the same time

"Okay here goes. " Dad flipped the pages quickly while mom is watching. Dad flipped all the pages of the book and started talking

"Okay, tell me what you saw if the page that you saw was already said you can't say it again and I'll ask you one by one, starting with Shane the new neighbor. " Dad said

"I think I saw something about Mathematics, something about 3.1415926535 8979323846 2643383279 5028841971 6939937510 5820974944 5923078164 0628620899 8628034825 3421170679 are the first 100 digits of pi. " Shane said

"Your right, then what about you Rose? " This time Dad asked Rose

"It was something about energy Kinetic and stuff, that every action has an equal and equivalent reaction. " Rose said

"Then what about you Bren?" It was Bren this time, I guess I'll be the last obviously

"I saw something about Nachbin's theorem, it is mostly used to show growth rate using summation notation and other formulas. " Bren said

"Good work, now then, how about you, Lite? What did you see? " Dad finally asked me

"Makina... " I said

"Makina? What do you mean? " Mom suddenly asked me

"Minima Makina, I saw it in that book, it is an incomplete program that supposed to control human evolution but because there is no current evidence of a device that hasten evolution, Minima Makina is put on hold, because it not that useful. " I said

"So you guys are telling the truth, you can really learn things by just a look, then how about this, at the right time you guys should come together and help each other, that right time will be the beginning of it all, all the data that you will need, all the information that you want, it can be found in my office, I have already worked with Shay to create a program that will make other unable to look at the data but that doesn't mean it is secure, but with this we can lessen the amount of hacker because there are only a small amount of people who can hack the program created by Shay, with this we can locate them, until that certain time happens, just wait and ready yourselves. This is just a feeling but I know something bad will happen" Dad stated

"What do you mean Dad? " I asked

"Don't worry... You'll understand soon enough. Just look under the drawer and you'll see. " He said

Ah. I doze off...

I have to open the door

"What? Why is it lock... " I murmured

"I have a key here, Aunt Anne gave it to us before. " Nice save Bren

We opened the door various documents in the desk, I first opened the drawer but Bren and the others started looking for the hidden we found that day when we were playing.

After opening the drawer I am surprised by what I found, it was a prototype suit that mom and dad created, it was inside a box enough for the 3 of us, but for some reason, there is 1 more extra, while wandering in thoughts.

*ring* *ring*

The telecom suddenly rang, I first took a look about who it is, after seeing that there where no contact info about the contactor it automatically say please leave a message or something, and the caller said

"I know you're in there, hey contact me again, it's me Lite. I'm back already, I just did some business somewhere but I'll visit you guys now. "I heard a familiar female voice, it was Shane, the girl I've been in love with after seeing her beautiful smile.

She said to contact her so I pick up the phone and dialed her number

"Hello. Lite, it's been a while, I knew you'd be there. " She said

"I am close by, I'll ring the doorbell after 5mins, I missed you, Lite, I wonder if you have more amazing things to show me, it has been 2yrs since I left to study abroad but now I am living alone, see you later. " She said

"Yeah, 2yrs is pretty long, I missed you too, see you later, Shane. " I said with a smile

I see, so the 4rth one is for Shane, did Dad predicted all of this to happen, this can't be all coincidence if he did predict it all, why didn't he prevent this from happening, or maybe he can't.

"Lite! Found it! Its here, Minima Makina and Minima Exélixi! " Bren said

"Was that Shane just now? " Rose asked of curiosity

"Yes, it was. Nice work everyone let's see what does it say. " As I was talking the doorbell rang

It must be Shane, so we all hurried to the door and when we opened it, we were surprised

"Dad... What are you..." I saw Dad covered in wounds with Shane who has a truck with her, they must've ridden that.

But that's not what surprised us, what surprised us is the thing tied behind the truck. What is that?
