Ethan Everett, also known as the Emerald Enforcer, watched the scene with disgust beneath his helmet. He had received a call notifying him of a new villain going by The Rat King making his debut by calling the police to the scene of his crime, where he rescued some civilians from human traffickers by overly excessive means that he was sure were meant to get rid of the gang more than the rescue itself.
His boot stepped on a dead rat as he got distracted by the sheer amount of blood across the room, it was disgusting to his very core. Whoever was this psycho he had to be brought to justice, but given that he had good intentions he could let him be reformed after maybe five to ten years in prison.
“Sir,the others are this way” an officer approached him and showed him where two other local heroes were looking at the scene. Lou Luck and Sparkler were both looking at the main room of the building as a cleanup team was taking as much evidence as they could
“Any news?” Ethan asked his teammates as he almost slipped on a piece of gore “This is a fucking disaster”
“Yeah, this dude is a savage by how the bodies were left. There were even some rats still eating the corpses” Lou spoke as he towered over everyone present. “This is the worst awakener i have seen ever since i became a hero”
Ethan could only nod, and Sparkler did the same before asking something that didn't fit with the image of a magical girl that she was going for
“But there is no trace of him being here tough, i hoped we could have a trace to get his ass”

“Language, and that is true. The only thing that connects this guy to this attack is that call he made to the police, but the power fits with what some sewer workers and pest exterminators reported as of late” Ethan told his teammates as he looked at the door that led to the room where the girls had been captive earlier “organized rats, but they had reported a lower level of aggression and that rats avoided people. Something that didn't happen here”
The heroes looked at each other before walking outside, where the perimeter was surrounded by news reporters desperate to get a headline out of one of the worst parahuman brawl of the year, maybe the decade.
The attempts of the reporters to get one of the three main heroes of the city went unheard as they entered the PMA truck where they were investigating the camera feed of the area. A small guy was working on a bunch of screens and going from one computer to the other, he looked like a squirrel on caffeine but that was the usual when working with thinkers.
“This guy was careful, i have to admit that it's impressive” the local thinker told them, and flinched back when the heroes glared at him “Im just saying, the way that he wasn't near any camera, the phone call was from a burner phone and it seems it has no fingerprints.”
Lou groaned at that information “goddammit, it's a paranoid villain. Those are always a pain in the ass, and this one has a strong power”
The thinker nodded as his chair bobbed up and down “Yess, I agree with you mister Lou. Specially since this seems to have been planned very throughly”
Ethan could only take off his helmet and rub his forehead as he sat down on one of the truck’s seats
“I can hope that this isn't the start of a new chapter of gruesome villainy for our city”
Everyone on the truck nodded to the words of their commrade, as they all shared the sentiment.
