Friends, I have missed updating on time. The promise I made to myself has shattered, and it is time to discuss why this happened and what that means for my update schedule.

In short, I have been slipping for a few weeks now. Chapters have been getting released closer and closer to deadline time and worked on less and less beforehand. This has resulted in a drop in quality that I'm no longer comfortable releasing.

However, while I could blame outside forces for these problems, it would be dishonest. I have plenty of time to write these chapters, but I have simply been procrastinating. I think that stems from a lack of enthusiasm for this project, which is... unacceptable. I will not tolerate myself not finishing this book. I have put far too much of my time and soul into crafting this story, and I want it to be the best I can possibly make it. That cannot happen if it is never finished.

However, it also cannot happen if whatever is causing this lack of enthusiasm continues impacting my work. So, I am going on hiatus. Sorry, guys. I don't know how long this hiatus will be; maybe a week, maybe a few months. But know this: I will return, refreshed and better than ever. Sorry for the disappointment, but please look forward to the pleasant surprise of an update down the road. Feel free to comment here with questions about whatever and I'll do my best to answer them.
