This blanket...its full of warmth.
Astra thought that once Vance had finally stopped watching them sleep, and Astra had woken up again as Oz began to stir. However, at the moment Astra's mind was filled with his own power.
Psychometry. The ability to read and view the history of a an object or a person psychically. It was one of the powers that Astra held, and through the blanket he could see the truth. Vance was raised in a family that could be strict, but also was overwhelmingly kind. That he himself became more strict after becoming a police detective, and even moreso after an incident occured that resulted in the deaths of several people, including a young child.
Spanking was painful, and even witthout his brother's ability to see into the future, he could tell it probably wouldn't be their last time being punished, but it was honestly because he wanted them to learn how to behave, so that they would be able to hide better and remain safe from those after them.
The main issue was that Vance actually was not very good with kids, despite caring so much, so he would use such tactics casually because he didn't understand things that well.
As Astra saw Vance crying himself to sleep in the past, he suddenly got pulled into a warm embrace by his brother in the present.
"I dont trust this guy. I can see from this blanket, he is going to spank us a lot, cause us a lot of issues. Drag us into a lot of trouble. I cant get a clear image yet, the future is too much in flux, but he is definitely trouble. Lots of tears too. We should run away while we have the chance".
Astra however, shook his head as he hugged his brother back.
"I see warmth. The energy in this apartment. On the outside, he seemed so cold, callous. He is super strict..."
"You see warmth? I see tears and embarassment and stress and pain in our future".
"But is it worse then what we went through in the Institute?"
"...no, its significantly better than what we went through in the Institute. In the future, I can see that he punishes us, sets unreasonable rules and expectations at times. But our best odds to avoid The Institute is to stay with him".
"And I bet you see kindness too".
"I see us lounging around naked in the apartment a lot. He definently has to be a pervert. I dont see any way that would happen normally".
Oh niichan, you can be so difficult sometimes. Still, its not like I dont understand...
"See what I mean? You have your reservations too dont you?"
"...of course I do. I cant trust or be comfortable around any adult either. Not fully. I cant see the future like you can, and so far every adult has betrayed us".
The parents that abandoned them. The orphanage director that sold them for cash to the Institute, being in cahoots with them. And of course, the people at the Institute who didn't even see them as people.
Adults could not be trusted. And Astra knew, deep down as much as he wanted to trust Vance, that he couldn't. That was why, despite the fact that Vance had done so much for them, Astra was pushing his powers to the limits to use this blanket to learn more about Vance, no matter how personal it got.
Although he did have to zone out or skip ahead when it got to some of the more...adult content...that was in the history of this bed.
Oz, who was telepathically linked to his brother, frowned.
"Astra, please stop reading the bed. I have concerns about some of the expressions you made".
"...let me at least collect a few more embarassing secrets on him. Unfortunately, this blanket is only a few years old, so I cant read his childhood, but its old enough at least that he had it back when he was an exceptional police detective".
"...a police detective huh?"
"Also, niichan...no, Oz-niichan, you need to apologize tomorrow morning".
"But! That guy! I see so much embarassing things in our future! He tells someone some weird story about us being boys and often lounging around naked! Its definently because he makes us, cause he is a pervert!"
Niichan, I hate to break it to you, but after spending so much time as a lab rat in the Institute...well, lets just say our bodies got used to hell.
"I am not telling you to trust him, but he is different from those people in the Institute. So apologize properly".
"Fine...but lets sleep first, at least. If we run away, we need to be well rested".
Niichan, I know you do this because you are worried for me...but I am worried for you as well. And while I cant see the future, the sight of you finally expressing your emotions earlier is burned into my memories. Because on some level, you must have felt you could trust this man if you could open up like that on the first night we met him.
The only issue is that from what I can tell, he just doesn't understand how to be a father very well. Well, its not like I want him to be our dad either.
----------------------------------------
The Institute. Vance had certainly heard of them, after all they were considered one of the top charities in the city, perhaps even the world. Not only that, but one could see their results first hand. They took in orphans, runaways, the children of the very poor, and had them live and be educated in their high class facilities. They provided people with a better chance, they were extremely kind and forgiving, they encouraged growth and used top of the line education programs. They had tons of resources, and many of those who graduated went to college, got well paying jobs, and often ended up donating right back to the Institute.
Of course, its not like they could make everyone stay, and people loved to gossip, but no evidence was ever found, and those who serious tried to smear them were found out to have just been trying to do a smear job for publicity, or from their rivals, or were actually just unstable. In fact, throughout the fourty years they have been operational, there has not been a single scandal within their walls.
Then again, if I wanted to avoid being caught and arrested, thats the cover I would want as well. And if they used orphans with no parents, from orphanages that show little interest or follow through, they are very likely to be able to get away with it if they are skilled enough. Which it sounds like they are.
Considering how advanced it had all been, Vance was certain that whoever was behind it was powerful. However, if what they were doing was a secret, then most likely, anyone who was chasing them were not told what was in the case. Which meant Oz and Astra were safe.
It was obvious they based it on their code names. Oz for Omega, Astra for Alpha. They panicked, and used what they were used to being called as a basis as they didn't want to give their original names, and risk being found faster, although I suppose they are different enough to be fairly decent.
Vance then looked back at the two keys. Each key was slightly different, other then the symbol on them, which was very different. One had the Alpha Symbol, the other had the Omega Symbol. They probably went with those chokers on their necks. He had wanted to remove them, but there was no sign of a release clamp or anything, and when he ran his fingers over it, even if he could get his fingers under it, he could tell that they were somehow connected to them. The two boys seemed to try and rip and tear it off themselves, but it didn't work at all.
He called them chokers, but in reality, they were collars. He wasn't sure why they both utilized an old style lock on the front, as padlocks were very out of date, but he suspected that the keys wouldn't take off the chokers.
In truth, Vance was very worried and antsy as he had been unable to check the skin under the collars for signs of issues. In fact, Oz passed out before he finished the medical exam, so he would need to finish up all the tests and what not, even if he had to spank them and then tie them up to finish them. Vance was very strict for sure, and he had an eye for detail. But although one might not guess from his large body or facial expressions being minimal, but he was actually a major worrywart.
He looked in on the two boys, and they seemed to be resting comfortably. At some point Oz had rolled onto his sides, and maybe woken up, because he had pulled Astra close into an embrace and now they were sleeping while he was hugging Astra.
He was worried Oz might really hate him forever because of the spankings, but Vance couldn't back down on that. In truth, it had been a long time since he was a kid himself, and ever since that insident so many years ago, he had become increasingly strict with kids, especially when it came to health and safety. If spanking them would help them understand that it was bad quickly, then he would do it.
When I get them clothes tomorrow, I should make sure there are plenty of tracking devices put in so that way if they got lost or kidnapped, I can find them. Ah, the kidnappers might strip them though, since its become common place, at least at my old job, to do that. So I should probably implant tracking devices in their bodies too, just to be safe.
Vance was currently single and he did not have any kids, but that was probably obvious to anyone who would have seen his thoughts right now and heard all of this. And his previous job wasn't exactly a great idea to use as a reference.
Eventually, after some research and more rest, the door from the stairs that went upstairs crept open as Vance was watching the news. Oz came out, wrapped in a blanket, but the door closed on it mid walk so it ended up pulled from him and he was naked again. He was quite embarassed.
"Relax, we are all guys here, and I am not a pervert".
"...you sure you didn't come into bed last night and violate us?"
"Where did you learn that language?"
"...a very unpleasant person".
Vance sat up for a moment and seriously looked at Oz. Oz tried to grab for a pillow, but Vance stopped him, and looked right at the area Oz wanted to cover. He did a very thorough examination, and then made Oz turn around and looked for other signs.
Oz quickly realized what he was looking for. "No! No no no! He never did it! I was never...oh gods, please stop thats unpleasant and embarassing!"
Vance stopped, and let out a sigh of relief.
"You at least seem decently healthy, although id say there are clear signs you were not treated like people properly. Malnourishment especially. Considering what else they might have done to you, and since we cant bring this to doctors, I will need to give you regular medical checkups. Actually, just to be safe, I should check you over again and make sure no symptoms from the drug induced sleep emerged while you slept".
"Nonono, we are good! Get away from us pervert! Its embarassing!"
"Listen okay, even if its embarrassing for you, how about you think of it like this. Would you ratther I miss something, that because I did, your brother ended up suffering from some terrible condition because of something they did to you, and possibly even dying or even just suffering a lot?"
Hearing that, Oz and Astra looked at each other. They made a grim face, as they remembered everything they went through.
"...I cant deny the possibility".
"I am worried about niichan".
"So, can you be good little boys and behave while I do my best to make sure you both dont have something akin to a ticking time bomb?"
"I am not little!" Oz shouted and lashed out. Another punishment later, and although red faced, he was keeping his feet together and standing at attention with Astra as Vance finished the medical examination.
There wasn't anything of major note, but Vance did notice a rather strange discoloration around a well hidden injection mark. It was only minor, but he had some worries about it. Oz however, had no idea what Vance was thinking.
Seriously. Its weird. Astra, how about you?
I cant read his mind either.
The two brothers, codenamed Omega and Alpha, who now went by the aliases Oz and Astra, had suffered at the hands of the Institute. But in exchange, they had developed several psionic abilities. That said, they both tended to have mostly diferent abilities. Both had the ability of telepathy and telekinesis, but Astra exclusively had the power of psychometry, which allowed him to read the history of an object or location. Oz meanwhile, could look forward. He had visions of the future sometimes, mainly about people or objects he touched, but sometimes they happened at random.
Astra could also teleport, but it was quite exhausting and difficult to pull off, and if he didn't do it carefully, anything from teleporting only yourself, without any clothes or anyone else, or teleporting yourself right into a tree and dying, was a possibility. Oz meanwhile, had some form of technopathy. However, while not as difficult as teleportation, it still had some difficulties. Cyborgs especially were basically impossible, since they used advanced interfacing and organic parts, was difficult. He couldn't just combine it with telepathy for that, that wasn't really feesible.
Once the exam was finally done, Vance told them to set the table while he made them some breakfast.
"Hold on, cant we get some clothes first?"
"If two naked children walk into a clothes store, there will be a big fuss, and the people from The Institute will find out who you are".
"Then cant you go now, alone?"
"You saying you two want me to leave you here alone, when there could still be people potentially after us? What if they tailed us and are waiting for me to leave? Listen, I got your measurements when I examined you..."
"Wait, when? You never used a measuring tape or any measuring program! Did you...do it while we were sleeping?!"
Once again, he gave Oz another round of punishments, and Astra tried to help Oz, so he also got another round of punishments.
Unauthorized reproduction: this story has been taken without approval. Report sightings.
Vance was pretty sure Astra was only doing that because he didn't want Oz to feel singled out and be the only one punished, especially since Oz was likely mainly getting angry for Astra's sake.
"Thats a bit much isn't it?"
"Well, you keep doing the same annoying thing, and accusing me of some pretty disgusting things, and it kind of hurts my feelings".
"What, a big, thick, musclebound brute like you has feelings that sensit....OW! Astra?!"
Astra pushed his brother so he fell over a couch armrest, and proceeded to spank his brother.
"Astra?!" Oz said while crying.
"I more or less shared your concerns with the other stuff, niichan, but that was a bit uncalled for".
And after that, Vance punished both of them, Oz for being insanely rude, and Astra for trying to steal his role.
At this point, Oz and Astra seemed to calm down, and they properly did as Vance asked and set the table. That said, they set the coffee table by the couch.
"...do I need to punish you guys again?"
"We are not tall enough to eat at the other table, and you really think we can sit down right now?!"
"...ah, yeah fair enough" he said.
In the end, they ended up eating breakfast at the coffee table, with Oz and Astra sitting on their knees rather then their rears. Once they finished, Vance had them clear the table as he started the dishes.
"Now, would you mind telling me about those chokers with the padlock like objects around your necks? I assume they are related to these keys".
Vance held up two keys in front of them, each with a symbol matching their own. Oz immediately grabbed them and tried to use them, but once he pressed the mechanism, the key pricked his finger, and then both the key and the choker delivered a painful shock to him, causing him to fall on his still tender rear and wince in pain.
"Well I guess thats what happens when someone else tries to use the key. They did take a sample of my blood before they extended, so I guess its something like that. Unless it was that severe because you tried to use your own key".
"Get these things off of us!"
"I dont know if the keys actually do that, but lets see what happens".
Vance put the key into the lock, and turned it so it would open. Tthe padlock didn't come off though, but Oz felt quite different.
"...I feel, kinda strong and powerful right now. A bit electrified".
"By any chance, are tthose chokers attached to your nervous system?"
"I think that was said, yeah, or something like that anyways".
"It doesn't look like it did anything. Can you not make a fuss and raise your arms?"
Oz did so instantly.
"Hmmm, it doesn't look like it does any damage if you can react that quickly. You mentioned you had psychic powers, but you still never told me what they were".
"I have telepathy, telekinesis, future sight, and technopathy. My brother has telepathy, telekinesis, psychometry, and teleportation. The last one for each of us is the hardest".
The moment he finished answering, Oz covered his mouth.
"Hmmm...Astra, tell your brother to let me spank him again".
"Brother, let him spank you again".
"No way!"
"I see, so it seems it only makes you obedient to me. Probably because I am registered to the key, but how does it tell that? Interesting...but, do you mind putting everything down carefully?"
As Oz looked around, he saw that there were various objects floating around him.
"What, I wasn't even trying..."
"It looks like the keys make your powers stronger, but it also makes you more obedient. Interesting, but annoying".
Oz quickly put everything down carefully. Vance used the key again when it was done, and the lock clicked again. Suddenly, Oz felt like he was no longer stimulated. He also didn't feel compelled to follow Vance's orders, at least anywhere near as strongly as before.
"I am a bit surprised you didn't keep brother obedient".
"Hmmf. I will have him adhere to me of his own will, by learning it himself. Spanking him whenever he does something wrong is far better then brainwashing him".
Once again, Astra confirmed that while Vance was right, he had incredibly poor understanding of how to actually deal with or raise kids. Typically, one doesn't spank kids unless they were their own. And certainly not as many times as he did.
Although, Oz was not helping by constantly arguing. In the end, Astra realized they were both stubborn. Without realizing that he himself was the same.
Incidentally, they tried with Astra too, and the effect was the same. Although, when it was over, Astra accidentally called him both papa and master, as did Oz. It was...a weird side effect.
"...cant you be a little nicer?"
"Just because I am strict doesn't mean I am not nice. This is me being nice".
"it is?!"
"You are a lot nicer then the people at the Institute. They never gave us blankets or ordered us clothes".
"...never?"
"They never thought of us as people, only lab rats. They said lab rats dont need clothes or blankets when the lab is perfectly maintained to be the ideal temperature for the human body".
"By any chance, were some of the doctors a bit deranged, and that is where Oz learned all those bad sayings?"
Astra nodded, and Vance had a rough idea of what lab life was like for them. Although, he might argue that calling it life was a gross oversstatement.
"Alright, so the deliveries should get here tomorrow, but today, lets get you both into a bath".
Vance picked both of them up, and proceeded to head towards the bath. It was a fairly large bath and bathroom, could probably accomodate a small family. They were already undressed of course, they never had clothes or even underwear to begin with. But then Vance started to get undressed too.
"Wait, what are you doing?! We can bathe ourselves!"
"With how bratty you act, I cant be sure of that at all" Vance pointed out, as he picked both of them up once he was completely naked, and brought them inside. Due to his large body, and their small bodies, once he sat down at the rinsing station, he was able to place both of them on his lap inbetween his knees, keeping them steady and contained.
Oz didn't have an immediate comeback to that one, his face was just red. It seemed even he was aware he had been acting like a brat.
However, Oz and Astra were more obedient this time because now that he had undressed, he saw his arm. Vance had a robotic arm, as well as various cybernetic implants. He was still mostly flesh and blood, but clearly something had happened that caused this. It was a lot to take in, especially given the scarring around each.
"...so you are aware of it then. You would think you would try to curb that behavior if you understood that much, instead of letting yourself get spanked so much. And Astra, even if you didn't hurt me, you shouldn't be so quick to resort to fists just because your brother is getting spanked...especially if its just so that he doesn't experience it alone".
"Astra, really. You dont need to..."
"No, niichan will learn better, and I dont want him to be alone".
"...well, you yourself do enough to need it as well, so I guess I will leave it at that".
"How about finding better methods! Not to mention, taking a bath with us so forcibly like this? Absolutely a pervert!"
Oz bickered with Vance as Vance proceeded to wash their bodies. When he started to go low, Oz and Astra both complained vehemontly, but that just led to Vance giving them both a fresh rear reddening. It was only then they noticed that Vance was always careful to use his non robotic arm every time he did so. Had he used the metal one, they thought they might have broken butts.
That made the rest of the rinsing sting a bit more. However, from this, Vance began to understand something else. Every time he went to touch them, even though in the end they couldn't escape and submitted, they still seemed to instinctively recoil at the touch. They were okay with each other, but not with him.
No, he understood it wasn't so specific.
So when they got into the bath finally, Vance started to understand something.
"...I see now. I was wondering why you got so embarassed when it was just us guys. You guys...you dont trust adults do you? Perhaps even some sort of adultphobia?"
Oz and Astra did not answer, but their expressions gave them away. That said, perhaps soaking in the bath together was helping,
The TV screen in the bathroom turned on as Vance told it to, and a news broadcast was up. Apparently, the fighting yesterday got blamed on a gang skirmish, and no mention of Vance or the case was in it. Obviously the boys were not in it either.
However, right about five minutes before the hour mark, a new message came in. A voice one, from the client.
"I see you had to open the package and secure the contents. The window for getting them out of the city is closed now, but dont worry. You may have zero experience as a parent and very low observed parenting skill, but I think you represent the best chance at making sure they remain safe. So have fun with your new family, papa. Oh yeah, I sent a care package, it should be there any moment. Everything is specially designed, so it should work well".
"...why are they using a voice changer?"
"This client seems to be very careful and shy. And just secretive".
"I wanted to know more about the one who hired you to save us".
"For the record, neither of us will call you papa".
"Yes, I understand that".
Once the bath was over, and they were out, Oz and Astra ended up laying on the sofa on their bellies watching TV. It was still kind of embarrassing, but at this point it was the first time they had actually been able to just lay down and watch TV, so it was kind of nice. Especially since they had not been able to watch TV in a long time.
Even Oz thought maybe it wasn't so bad, lounging around in the nude watching TV after a nice bath.
However, his face immediately reddened when the door unlocked suddenly, and a man from the outside came in.
"Yo, Vance, you here?!"
"Yeah. Hold on, I just took a bath, let me finish getting dressed".
"Alright!" the man said as he looked over at the couch, and saw the two boys laying on the couch nude. He eyed their bottoms, which were still a bit red, and justt gave a wry smile. Oz immediately wanted to call the pervert police, but Vance came down first and drew his gaze. "Yo, Vance. When did you get two adorable kids?"
"Ah, well various things happened, and I adopted them Sebastian".
"Can someone as strict as you even be a father?"
"Yeah. Dont mind their state right now. We just took a bath, and you know how kids are, especially after a bath. They are in that phase where they just enjoy lounging around the house naked".
Oz remembered this part from his visions, but he didn't say anything despite being kind of ticked off from that.
Astra just giggled a bit.
Oz-niichan doesn't want to admit that because of the Institute, we are actually a bit used to being naked so this is a bit comfortable for us.
"Ah, that makes sense. Especially since its so warm here all the time, my kids relax and play around the house all the time naked".
So it is normal for kids?
Having spent an extended period of time as a human test subject imprisoned in a secret facility, Oz was not fully aware of what was normal for kids his age. Thanks to his and Astra's abilities, they had the capacity to act and work well beyond their ages after all.
"That said, maybe they wanted to get dressed in these new clothes the moment they arrived? You have a box from a clothing store here after all".
As he said that, Oz and Astra's embarassment washed away as they raced over to the box. The box was big enough to go up to Oz's shoulders, and Astra could just barely see the top. Both of them had stopped caring about the stranger there looking at them, this was the first time they had recieved any present, even clothes, in over a year.
They were quick to rip it open, and surely enough there were clothes in there. Vance was a bit surprised.
I placed that order this morning. It shouldn't have arrived this soon. I wonder...could the client have sent them?
First things first, Oz and Astra put on boxers. The first underwear they wore in over a year. Then they put on some T shirts they found, and then some shorts. There were socks in there too, and shoes. And some short scarves that for some reason drew them in. They put those on too.
They even took some stuff off to try new stuff again, and at one point they both got undressed compeltely and then put on what each other was wearing. They were similar in size, and it seemed they had been purchased with future growth in mind, so anything they had could fit either one of them, although some of the stuff that Oz had to grow into was a bit big for Astra.
While this happened, Vance looked over at Sebastian.
"So, what is the issue? You came all the way without checking first, so it must be urgent".
"About that, Vance. I know your not in the business anymore, but...please! I need your help!"
"...what happened".
"A nanny was murdered, and a kid is missing. Its from a well off family with connections to the mayor, so I was given permission by Chief to bring in consultants and ask for your help before even showing up. Please, we both know the odds...well, you know".
Sebastian didn't want to say it in front of the kids.
"Ah...its okay, they have heard worse. However, we are not really in a place where I can just leave them home alone right now. I want to help you, but..."
As Vance said this, suddenly Oz and Astra each took one of his hands into their own.
"Its okay, we have seen and heard worse".
"Lets go to the crime scene!"
"...you sure?"
Vance was a bit surprised by their eagerness. However, thinking about it, a crime scene full of police would be even more secure, so rather then leaving them home at risk, or letting that kid get kidnapped, this was the best option for everyone.
And the two nodded yes to the question.
"Very well".
"Wait, you are taking the kids?!"
"Considering everything, I am sure they wont mind. I am not sure if I will be good enough to help you, but I will do my best. But this is the best option for everyone".
"Well, I guess in that case, if you say so, it will be fine. Besides, I cant wait to see their surprised looks when they see you walk in with two kids. Everyone might go crazy from this".
"Heh. Probably".
"By the way, those are some interesting neckwear. Its cute how you both match, I wasn't aware such things were back in style".
Internally, Oz and Astra were stunned.
Collars with padlocks were once in style at all?!?!?!
----------------------------------------
The crime scene was in the penthouse of an apartment complex. It was one of the nice ones too, in a good part of town. Vance ended up holding their hands the whole way there, which was kind of embarassing. However, there was a point in that. In truth, Oz and Astra had been telepathically influencing everyone to focus more on the larger, scary faced Vance, then either of them.
It wasn't something they really specialized in, but since it was only a minor attention diverting effect with a very eye catching distraction, it wasn't too difficult.
As they greeted everyone, everyone there remarked on how cute they were once the officers saw they were with Vance. It seemed like a lot of them knew him, and Oz could sense some sympathetic looks and some concerns. Astra meanwhile, was planting in subliminal messaging in their heads to avoid looking at or noticing the collars, and focus more on their faces and other features.
It didn't work too well, but he hadn't expected it to. Either way, they soon entered the actual crime scene. A few officers looked concerned about bringing them in there, but Sebastian just waved it off.
Eh? Thats a dead body? Its...really clean.
Its quite undisturbed. Did she really die from just that much?
They were used to seeing corpses that died from experimentation, so by comparison, the nanny was in a significantly better condition. To the point the brothers wouldn't be surprised if it got up and revealed she wasn't dead.
There was also a murder weapon nearby. When Vance came in, everyone flocked to him, so tthe brothers used this time to break away and look at the room.
Niichan, what are you thinking?
Lets solve this case! We need to hone and refine our investigative techniques! If we find out who the murderer is, and work on finding evidence, then we will eventually be able to take down The Institute once and for all!
This might be a bad idea, but I am all for it!
While everyone was distracted, Astra went over to the murder weapon. It was already in an evidence bag, but Astra touched it through the bag. There was no response, so he opened it up quickly and put the back of his hand against the blade. This time, he got a reaction, and focused his Psychometry power. To him, the room seemed to rebuild itself into a scene from a few hours ago. Although it was just in his mind, everything returned to what happened at the time of the murder.
Through their telepathic link, Oz was able to see this as well. The attacker was wearing a black mask, black long sleeve sweatshirt with a blue raindrop on it, and a sailboat on the back, as well as blue jeans and sturdy boots. It looked like he and the nanny talked for a bit, and then he pulled out that knife and stabbed her repeatedly. And yet, while the attack was efficient, it seemed there was some reservation.
They knew each other.
Yeah, I agree. Now, we need a location if we want to save that boy. We cant rule out the possibility The Institute gets people from kidnapping also, so we will need to save that boy as soon as possible to be safe. its possible he is psychically sensitive, so they decided to kidnap him as useful material.
Oz then touched the knife with the back of his hand. and they both saw the future. The energy was faint, perhaps because someone else's blood was on it. But they could make out a warehouse with a cartoon fish on it, holding a trident. It looked old, but it was well maintained. Furthermore, it could be seen from the street, and a good amount of road traffic passed it. It wasn't used, but it was maintained so its not abandoned. However, there is something else that Oz saw on the knife.
He saw it plunge right into the boy's chest.
He planned to use the knife to kill the boy, but not immediately!
At that point, one of the officers let out a voice of shock.
"We got a ransom call!"
Niichan, that call...
Yeah, its a fake! He plans to kill the kid anyways, this is just to make them suffer and drag it out!
The clock was on. He wasn't sure about the specific time in his vision, but it was probably in the next hour or two. He would kill the boy soon, if they didn't hurry.
Realizing this, they went back over to Vance.
"Vance, we have a big issue".
"You mean like you playing witth evidence? Yes, I noticed. It seems I will need to punish you later when we get home, more then normal".
Both of them gulped a bit, but stayed strong.
"Thats not the point, we got a psychic reading! Whoever it was, knew the nanny! The nanny knew them too! It wasn't random, the guy probably knows the family!" Astra explained in a hushed voice.
"And I got a psychic reading off of it too. That knife contains murderous intent towards the boy. I also saw a location, a warehouse with a fish and a trident on it. He plans to kill the boy in the next hour or two, and then escape!"
Vance grabbed both of them by the ears, and tthen dragged them over tto the corner.
"You sure on these readings?"
"Yeah. Without a doubt".
"Hmmm...I thought so. The way the knife wounds were, it seemed strange, like someone was familiar with her and didn't quite want to harm the nanny. But the way they spoke, they said they would kill the boy at the slightest issue, so right now the parents are going crazy to do what they can to get their son back. And so, they probably are storing away someplace nearby, but not oftten used. A warehouse that isn't abandoned, but is out of use, would be perfect. Since they can appear like normal warehouses, and police are more likely to check abandoned warehouses first, rather then just ones not in use".
It seems that Vance had already figured out a good piece, although Oz and Astra had helped give him a better idea on everything.
