Third person pov
Andre took his shield and uppercut the goblin, sending it flying across the room. His friend Sophia was healing Andre so that the one or two spears that actually hit him didn't leave lasting wounds.
Andre has already killed about 50 of the goblins, when suddenly a deep growl echoed throughout the room. Sophia started to back up, but Andre said, "Don't worry, it probably just a hobgoblin. They're just larger, slower, uglier goblins."
But unfortunately for Andre, he was incorrect. Just as he finished speaking, a massive beast broke through the wall. It was green and had an oversized nose like a goblin, but instead of a human shaped body it had ape like features with massive tusks.
"A troll? Those only can evolve in the Great dungeon of the west. What's one doing this far northward." Andre muttered but he already realized his mistake. Trolls may be smaller than hobgoblins, but they are way faster than even normal goblins. There is no way he can make is to the end. Sophia on the other hand...
He dropped his shield and short sword and tackled the troll. It's long claws shredded through his metal plate armour. He yelled," Get out of here!" Before preceding to try and choke out the troll while the remaining goblins stabbed him. Those are the last words he ever spoke.
Sophia didn't think twice. She booked it to the stairs leading up, to the previous floors. There was screaming for about an hour and then the it all stopped. Sophia slowly walked towards the room where the troll was. It was all empty beside about 70 goblins and a man, who was ripped in half(horizontally) with a troll tusk in his hands. She immediately went to grab his soul and send it to the Ether. But then she got an idea. It was strictly forbidden and if she was caught, she would be charged with treason. But Andre was the admiral, second in command in the royal army.

She grabbed his soul and she paled. His soul was weak and almost at the Void. She wouldn't have time to find him a suitably strong body. Even a weak one will be a risk. But she has already decided to go along with this plan. She grabbed his gilded shortsword and soul and barged into the next room. But in this room, there was nothing other than barrels. But then she caught a glimpse of movement in the corner of her eye. She whips around just to see a thin pitch black bony body with no face but glowing white eyes. She gasped. A mimic without a host? It was a perfect target but...
Even though mimics were beings of pure evil, he was almost dead. With reluctance, she grabbed the frail creature by the arm and sstabbed it in the chest. As it was about to die, she took its soul and cast it into the Void. She then took Andre and shoved him in the empty husk. As soon as he was in there, she healed the body. As he awoke, she quickly said, "Before you get up, let me tell you what happend. You died and your soul was quickly faiding, so I had to put you in a body before it was to late and..."
His bright white eyes widened as he realized the punishment of what she said. He went to say something, but he couldn't open his mouth. He reached his hand up to feel his head. He didn't feel ears, a nose, or a mouth. But more importantly, he did feel razor sharp claws. He looked at his hand and saw a bony, scrawny Hand. That was black. So he was one of two things. A wendigo, which can be evolved only in the great dungeon of the south, but they had a mouth so that only left one thing.
"A mimic was the only thing I could find in time. I'm so sorry," Sophia said. But just then, a crashing noise came from the next room over. Andre looked at her and made a shooing motion towards the exit. She nodded and said, "I'll come back," but Andre shook his head.
She was confused, but the noise was getting closer so reluctantly, she left.
