In a frozen wasteland, a giant golden tree could be seen, it stood towering over the surrounding landscape, If a human somehow got past the vast mountains of shiny objects, which both consisted of artifacts and trash alike that surrounds the tree, he would notice that not only was the tree not golden but instead covered in markings that where glowing gold. not only would the human notice that but also that different-sized holes covered the tree at seemingly random locations. if the human somehow ignored the pure majesty that the tree projected, and went to look into one of the holes, the first thing he would see is a long circular tunnel leading deeper into the tree whose walls were inscribed in golden markings, the next thing the human would notice is that the tunnel spanned at least as long as the human eye could see. If the human went through the tunnel a sight unlike anything that could be witnessed in the world of Axia would meet his eyes. At the end of the tunnel lay a circular room that spanned dozens of kilometers, there was no sealing in the room but due to the sheer size of the tree, there was no light coming through the missing roof. Apart from the sheer size of the room the human would soon notice that the walls of the room were inscribed with runes faintly similar to those commonly associated with Norse mythology, the runes glowed an eerie dark silver and lit up the interior of the giant room. Apart from the runes, shiny artifacts with an almost palpable aura were set into the bark of the floor, in many worlds, it would have been unheard of walking on such valuables.
In the middle of the room, branches were sticking out of the floor, a great many crows of largely different sizes were using them as perches. If the human was an axian he would be astonished to notice that instead of "kraa" and "caw" he actually understood the crows!
if the man had been a axian aristocrat he would have been even more astonished to hear that they were mumbling about a gathering of the beast kings that was supposed to have happened a weak ago.
Then he would have promptly fainted because of the ear wrenchingly high "Kraa!" that came from somewhere above, what followed is something no ordinary man, aristocrat or king would have been able to witness, a giant Crow with a wingspan of at least 20 meters came swooping down in concert with its proclamation caw, the sheer majesty of the giant crow that came flying down from the top of the tree would have rendered many speechless. As the crow got closer it gradually shrank down to a normal-sized crow, perched itself on a branch, and ignored the gathering of the other crows... the crow then promptly began muttering to itself!
"Ha! to think those old idiots want to turn us into weapons and armor for the humans! kraa! They even want me to hand over the Runic language of the Mimameidr Crows! kraa! how dare they demand such a thing! at least I got one last trick in over their heads! hehehe kraa! I bet my feathers and shinies they won't expect what I got in store for them! kraa the nerve! me Dusk the Mimameidr crow of the solid illusions to become some parlor suit for a spoiled brat! ha! kraa! and they even dared to threaten me! the dragons burning down my tree! preposterous! kraa! I guess I will have to show them why am called the Mimameidr crow of the solid illusions again! kraaa! ha!"

One of the younger crows sitting on a small perch in the middle of two larger crows asked "what is he cawing about kraa! I don't understand! kraa" the big crow on his left ensured him with a steady voice "don't worry young crow all will be revealed in due time kraa!" the young crow bobbed its head in acknowledgment. suddenly Dusk the leader of the Mimameidr crows stopped mumbling and spoke up with a heavy caw "Caw! listen here, you lousy pickpockets! kraa! from today onward the Mimameidr crows will disband and nest independently! kraa!"
what followed was a cacophony of caw's and kraa's which only silenced when Dusk spoke again "silence! I was not done kraa! I Dusk crow of the solid illusion leader of the Mimameidr crows takes care of my own! kraa! you will each take 2 artifacts of the inner tree and 10 of the outer wall kraa!"
the young crow could not help but speak up and ask "but why leader Dusk kraa!"
Dusk swiveled its head on the young crow in a predatory manner but after he saw it was a young crow its eyes softened, he breathed a heavy sigh and answered "kraa! young one listen here a pact has been made by the beast kings! kraa! when a magic beast is old or can no longer advance in the art of the inner shell or outer shell they will forge a new body for their progression and soul thereby continuing to live but only as a tool for the human race kraa!"
the eyes of the crows at the gathering widened and a few flew into a raged swearing at the other races, Dusk eyes also tuned bloodshot and he continued in a roar "kraa! not only that! but they also demanded our runic knowledge so that the humans would have a chance of advancing in the art of the outer shell!! kraa!!" this proclamation turned all the crows into feral birds of prey! proclamation such as "how dare they! this is war! kraa!" "I curse them with stolen shinies and ruffled feathers for eternity! kraa!" mind you such things were the worst fear for any true crow, the proclamations continued until Dusk silenced them with a deafening "kraaa!" "listen young ones! I know that this is preposterous but we have to abide by the rules of the other beast king's we cannot afford to go to war we Raxians at our doorstep kraa!" murmurs of agreement was voices until Dusk cut them off "kraa! therefore I will take the tree of Mimameidr away and become an artifact of some kind kraa.." the crows stayed silent when they heart this until the young one let out a heartbroken caw, that seemed to be the trigger as thousands of crows cawed and cried together in sorrow for their majestic leader.
Dusk had a gratified look in his eyes when he saw this, a small smile even played across his beak for a moment he decided to caw one last time and tell them a little secret that unknown to him would be passed down from old crow to young crow generation after generation it would be known as the awakening of Mimameidr.
