Micheal and John were nearing their home village. The entire ride was silent. Nobody said anything.
“So how do you know your dad knows what these things are?” John asked.
“Well back when I was a kid he had a book, in this book it talked about these six demons. I always thought they were just fairy tales or just fictional things so I never fully read about them I just looked and kept on going” Micheal said.
“Do you think the demons at the capital are the demons in your dads book?” John said.
“I do, hopefully this book will have a way to defeat those monsters,” Micheal said.
“What if it doesn’t?” John asked.
“ Well then, we’ll have to get strong enough to kill them,” Micheal said.
“I hope we can do that. They were so powerful and destructive” John said.
“I know,” Micheal said. They finally arrived in front of their home village. While they were riding close to the gate there was a boy in a wooden tower. His hair was short and brown and his eyes were also brown. He sat up in his chair and pulled out his spyglass and looked at Michael and John riding close to the gate.
“Wait a minute is that, it is…IT IS” the boy exclaimed. He then rang a bell to notify the village that someone was coming. All the village people looked towards the watch tower as the boy yelled,
“HE'S BACK, IT'S MICHEAL HE'S BACK”. The townspeople began to run towards the gate waiting for Micheal and John's arrival.
“I can’t believe that boy is coming back” an old man said
“I wonder if he's with John,” another person said.
After a few minutes Micheal and John arrived at the gate. Hopping off the horse and grabbing the reins, he began to walk into the gate with his head down. The townspeople were quietly chattering as the boy from the watchtower came and greeted them.
“Micheal, John you're both back” the boy said.
“Hello Damian,” Micheal said to the boy.
“So how was it you've been gone for three years, we’ve missed you” Damian said, smiling.
Micheal looked up and saw how big Damian had become since he left home and his eyes began to build up tears. He kneeled and hugged Damian.
“You've gotten so big,” Micheal said as his tears began to fall.
“Well well look who decided to come back,” a deep voice said.
Micheal looked up and saw one of the village warriors. He had short black hair and yellow eyes. He was very muscular and wore a white headband, he also had on the village warrior uniform. It consisted of a black long sleeve shirt, black pants, sandals, and they had shield crests on their backs.
“Jabari,” Micheal said to the village warrior.
“HA HA HA, well it seems I was right I knew you couldn’t hang with the real swordsmen” Jabari said while laughing and slapping his knee.
“Jabari,” an old woman said while hitting him in the head with a broom.
“ Hey, what'd you do that for you old coot?" Jabari said while holding the back of his head.
“Hey don’t worry about him Micheal come on let's get you to your house” Damian said. Micheal's house was small and had a table in the middle and three chairs and wooden floors. There were also two sliding doors on the wall parallel to the front door leading to the backyard. There was one room on the right and another one down this hallway to the left. That was Micheal’s room. The three chairs in the living room were for John, Micheal and Micheal's father. Seeing this Micheal thought back to when they were kids, they would always run around the streets together, and since John was always at their house they got another chair for him. Micheal, John, and Damian sat in the three chairs. Micheal took his sword off of his hip and placed it on the ground.
“So what happened, I can tell that you've both been through a lot” Damian said.
“No offense Damian but you're still a kid there isn't much you can really do about this” Micheal said.
“Yeah I know that but I'm worried about you, you know. It's been three years since you left and you haven't written back once. I don't know if you forgot but you used to call me little brother all the time. So you owe me” Damian said.
“Wow you really have gotten mature haven't you Damian” John said with a slight smile.
“FIne I'll tell you,” MIcheal said, interlocking his fingers. “I did lose my first tournament, but that isn’t why I came back. Something happened” Micheal said, putting his head down.
“What was it?” Damian asked with worry on his face.
“Demons, they attacked the capital” Micheal said, shaking.
“They killed hundreds, all there was to see was blood, destruction and despair” John said.
“ Really?” Damian said.
“We barely made it out alive,” Micheal said.
“I'm so sorry I made you relive all of that” Damian said
“It's fine really, you didn't know,” Micheal said.
“So where's Mr.Joseph we need to ask him something” John said.
“Mr.Joseph, he went to the watering hole” Damian said.
“Good then that gives me time” Micheal said as he stood up.
“What are you going to do?” Damian said.
“My dad has a book. It might be able to help us get rid of the demons” Micheal said.
"Hey where is that book anyway Micheal?” John asked. There was a drawer with a lantern on top of it. Micheal moved the drawer out of the way and under it revealed a trap door. Micheal opened it and it revealed a basement. John and Damian went over to the door and looked down. There was a ladder leading to the bottom. The three of them climbed down this ladder into the basement. In the basement there was a desk and a single chair at that desk and a lantern. On the desk was a book titled “The Legend of Tobias”.
“Who’s Tobias?” John asked.
“I don't know, I never actually read this thing I would just look at all the pictures” Micheal said as he opened the book. He flipped to the pages till he got to the page that talked about demons.
“So these are their names, well what they are” Micheal said. The page showed the six demons as black silhouettes they had on their cloaks as well.
“ The blood demon, the wind demon, the chain demon. The fire demon, the stone demon, and the diamond demon” Micheal said.
This text was taken from Royal Road. Help the author by reading the original version there.
“It doesn't have any actual names for them” Damian said
“That makes sense, their names probably weren't all that important to whoever wrote this” John said.
“It says here that the demons were extremely powerful, and were starting to quickly overthrow the human race… and that they didn't have a single weakness” Micheal said as he clenched his fist.
“No it can't be let me see” John said as he picked up the book. He turned the pages and he couldn’t find anything that gave him any information about the demon’s weaknesses. “It's true, there's nothing:” John exclaimed.
“I could have told you that” a voice said behind them. They all turned around to see that it was Micheal's dad, Joseph. He had a white beard with short white hair and blue eyes. He wore the village warrior gourmets, except his uniform was white. He also had a symbol on the right side of his chest. The symbol was a simple black star.
“Dad,” Micheal said.
“My son,” Joseph said. Micheal quickly hugged his father tightly. Joseph hugged him back
“I'm glad to see you too son” Joseph said. Micheal got off his dad and smiled.
“Wow it's really been three years and you still look good for your age dad” MIcheal said.
“Well when you’re the captain of the village warriors, you better be able to fight at fifty” Joseph said laughing.
“Mr. Jospeh” John said as he hugged Joseph.
“John my boy,” Joseph said as he hugged John.
“It's so nice to see you,” John said to Joseph as he let go of him.
“I could say the same. Well looking at things you aren't supposed to again,” Joseph said looking at Micheal.
“Uhh again um, what do you mean this is my first time seeing this place hehe” Micheal said.
“Micheal, I know you used to sneak down here as a kid” Joseph said, putting his hand on Micheal's shoulder.
“Wait really?” Micheal said.
“Yes I did, I've seen you move that drawer back multiple times” Joseph said laughing.
“Oh wow, well dad we need your help” Micheal stopped smiling as he said this.
“Hmm that so, well seeing that you came all the way here why not, what do you need son” Joseph said stroking his beard.
“Dad, the capital was attacked by demons,” Micheal said seriously.
“So that's why the sky turned dark yesterday, Dang it i knew this was gonna happen” Joseph said.
“What do you mean dad” Micheal asked.
“I really hoped that the book was just a fable but it seems that it was real” Joseph said.
“Well I know that you’ve read this book over and over again, so have you found anything that could kill these things” Micheal said.
“No, no there isn't, you just have to be strong enough” Joseph said.
‘Well who is Tobias? What did he do” Micheal said.
“You really haven't read this book have you son” Joseph said laughing. “Tobias was the first Strike Force user,” Joseph said.
“So he discovered it huh” John said.
“Yes the demons attacked two thousand years ago and he used his power to scare them off, when he did so they vowed to come back in a thousand years” Joseph said.
“So what are we supposed to do now?” Damian said.
“Well there was a reason I have this book, you see Tobias warned his people of this threat so he trained an army to be able to use Strike Force and he trained his children. But as time went on and on, there was no sign of the demons ever coming back. After that thousand year mark and no demons attacked. People then started to lose their belief in the fact that there were demons that attacked in the first place. Being that we wanted everyone to have their own free will, we didn’t force anyone to learn to use Strike Force, which led to the armies of Strike Force to die out because no one was willing to do that hard of work for fairy tales. Eventually people forgot about them all together. But you see I had the book because it was my job to find a way to prove that these demons were real. I always hoped that they weren’t” Joseph said.
“So, now what do we do, because they’re here now and there is no more avoiding them. Soon enough they’ll be literally knocking at our door” Micheal said.
“What I should've done a long time ago, we are gonna train,” Joseph said as he looked at the three of them.
“Right of course,” MIcheal said.
“Well good luck MIcheal I know you can do thi-” John was cut off by Joseph
“Actually you are gonna train too and you as well Damian” Joseph said.
“Wha- with all do respect sir i'm not much of a fighter” John said
“Sure you are John you just have to believe in yourself” Joseph said.
“But I don’t even know the first thing about sword fighting” John said
“I don't either, Mr. Joseph” Damian said.
“Listen boys, we need all the help we can get okay. This isn’t about ourselves anymore this is about getting rid of these demons so that the human race can live on” Joseph said. John and Damian accepted the fact that they had to fight.
“But dad, you taught me everything you know already, what more is there?” Micheal said.
“HA! Boy do you really think I taught you everything that I know” Joseph said laughing as he unsheathed his sword. A blue aura started to emit from his sword. It was Strike Force.
“Dad, you know how to use Strike Force,” Micheal asked.
“Yup I do, I didn’t teach you because I didn’t think you needed it just yet but then you-”Joseph said before catching himself.
“So just how strong are you Mr. Joseph” John asked.
“I can’t disclose that information but, just know that I haven’t shown anything here in this village” Joseph said, putting his sword back in his scabbard.
“Alright let’s get you two something to eat first you’ve had a long day. Lucky for you two I had the marketplace get together for a village feast and I had Ms. Zarina make some of her pies.” Joseph said.
“REALLY!” both Micheal and John exclaimed.
“Yup” Joseph said.
“Alright let's go!” Micheal said. A few hours later they were having the feast with the village. People danced in the streets as music played, children ran around the streets playing with balls and kites and other things. There were tables in the center of the streets with food all around it. Men were drinking beer and loudly cheering and so was Joseph.
“TO MY SON FOR RETURNING HOME” Joseph said, raising his cup. A loud holla followed after this, Micheal, Damian and John were all enjoying their food.
“Wow this is just as great as it was when I left,” MIcheal said after he took a bite.
“Yeah it’s been been so long since I had home cooked meals” John said
“Ah so you haven’t grown into that fancy capital food huh, our poor village food is still good for you!” a drunken Jabari said before taking another drink.
“Of course not nothing beats a good homestyle meal” Micheal said smiling.
“Ahh but I hear they have the best food in the capital, all the most flavorful and everything” Jabari said.
“Oh yeah it's real goo-”MIcheal said before Jabari cut him off.
“Too bad you couldn't win the tournament huh” Jabari said, getting in Micheal’s face.
“I’d appreciate it if you'd let me have some space Jabari,” Micheal said.
“Ah come on, have a little fun here, drink up” Jabari said, putting his cup full of beer in Micheal's face.
“Uh thanks Jabari but I'm okay” Micheal said. A few hours later everything was over and everyone was heading home.
“So what are you going to do John your mom and dad doesn't seem to be here” Micheal asked John
Yeah I know, I’ll still go home though hopefully they’ll be back by tomorrow i’ll see you tomorrow” John said before he walked away waving and smiling.
Micheal went back home and found his dad sitting at the table reading his book.
“Hey dad what are you doing” Micheal.
“I Just wanted to check and make sure one last time and… there’s nothing of course there isn’t ugh” Joseph said closing the book.
“That sucks well whenever we start training, hopefully we can get strong enough to beat em” Micheal said.
“Yeah why don't you go to sleep, today’s been a real roller coaster for you” Joseph said.
Micheal then went to his room and went to bed. The next morning Joseph woke Micheal up pretty early.
“Alright kid lets go” Joseph said. He had on his village warrior uniform and didn’t seem to have a hangover. Micheal sighed as he knew how hard his dad’s training was. As they approached the training grounds Micheal saw that all the villagers were in a crowd waiting for Joseph. There was a platform where Joseph would stand and give speeches.
“Come with me on the platform” Joseph told Micheal they both went up to the platform and Micheal stood to Joseph's right behind him. Joseph then cleared his throat and said.
“ALL RIGHT!! Today I regret to inform you that we are in a crisis! My son returned from the capital, and not because he lost, but because demons attacked! I know it does not sound believable but it very well is, in this book it tells of the very demons that my son told me attacked the capital! With that being said we must train and train hard to kill said demons! Which means we have to learn to use Strike Force which I already do,”Joseph said. Joseph pulled his sword and pointed it to the sky and used his Strike Force to emit an aura. Looking at the crowd he then said. “LETS GET STRONG AND ERASE THE DEMONS FROM OUR WORLD!!” Joseph yelled. The village warriors let out battle cries and pointed their swords to the sky. They were now ready and determined to get started training. However, back in the capital of Lezotus, demons completely took over. The demon in pink stood on the top of the tallest building looking in the distance. The demon in blue then flew up to the demon in pink..
“We have rounded up all of the remaining humans and have them all in the coliseum” The demon in blue said.
“Good, then we can get started with the next phase of my plan.. I need an army” the demon in pink said.
