Kai was now humongous. He had a size similar to that of a high-rise building; roughly 50 meters in length and 20 in diameter. However, his main consciousness still resided in a small, albeit larger, blob in the middle of a Rainbow spiderweb-like object. The cause of this is simply because he'd sent out the parts of his body he deemed unnecessary, and was currently controlling his limit of 64 split consciousness at once.
It was a little mundane but overall, Kai enjoyed it. The feeling of gaining power was really intoxicating.
Kai's main focus right now, however, was instead on something different. He was carefully scouting the surface for any threats and, hopefully, any treasures. This time, he'd allocated more than twelve wires to explore with each being separated by equal distances, looking very similar to a clock - missing the needle, of course.
The long tendrils sped through the giant-sized forest, leaving thin pieces of string behind them to remain connected to the main body. Next, Kai had spent time investigating the caves he'd been siphoning materials from the duration he'd been there.
It didn't take long for Kai to realize that the quantity of Mana Water in the caves had little to nothing to do with the amount of crystals. He'd spotted caves with tiny cracks, thus allowing little Mana Water to reach the cave, which had a similar number of crystals as the majority of the other caves.
Kai was quite ecstatic, realizing that the number of caves wasn't limited to the amount he'd found, which was decreasing at a rapid pace as the cracks all eventually led to dead ends.
However, Kai decided against sending batches of wires into the earth to dig out the locations of the caves; deterred by the thought that it may have a chance of causing everything to collapse. Now that I think about it... The fact that the Lake wasn't collapsing in on itself was quite odd, there was a large chunk of earth that was missing below it and yet the earth showed no signs of collapse. In fact, it was extremely rigid and tough to penetrate; even with his body.

Chalking it up to Magic, Kai focused on other things. Actually, just one specifically; Magic. This had been on his mind ever since he decided to call the weird energy Mana, however, he was worried that there may be consequences to it. Considering it's not the first time he'd read stories where magic was give and take; still under the influence of The Law of Equivalent Exchange.
Thus he had been holding off the thought of trying, that is until now. Kai was confident that he had grown strong enough to at least attempt it, however, he was still cautious and was ready to move to another piece of his body if need be.
Temporarily halting his current tasks, he could feel his body parts fall to the ground lifelessly. (not that he had one). Momentarily gathering his thoughts, he could feel all 64 parts of his mind 'coming' together. It felt like his mind was a jigsaw puzzle, with one much larger piece and 63 smaller parts. He could feel his thoughts becoming clearer, his mind becoming nearly twice as fast.
First I'll try this... Kai thought as he raised his blob-like hand. FIRE. Kai shouted in his head. there seemed to be a reaction, he could feel something begin to circulate throughout his body. Then, as quickly as it began, it stopped abruptly.
...
...
Wait I'm still in water. Kai thought as he smacked his head with his palm in his mind.
Rising out of the water, the metallic blob looked like a deity. Its lustrous colors shine onto the ground below, causing the lush plant life to seemingly glow in a rainbow-colored hue. It was riding a similarly shining metal pillar-shaped object, albeit not nearly as breathtaking as a metallic blob.
Needless to say, it was Kai. Rolling onto the ground, Kai took a second to upright himself before taking note of his surroundings. Of course, he'd seen this sight dozens of times through his Scouts above ground, but being here in person gave it a whole different feel; like going to a lifelike replica of a place in VR compared to in real life.
Taking a moment to concentrate (not that it did anything for him), Kai once again retried it. FIRE. This time, there seemed to be a reaction, the energy - which he had identified as Mana - circulated throughout his body. It felt unnaturally natural; if that made sense. As though he'd regained a missing limb.
Mana gathered quickly and circulated through his through his body, converging together at a single point on his body. Then, once it reached the climax, it was ejected out of his body in the form of a small floating fireball.
