Sighing once more. I close my eyes. But before I surrender to the sleep. I hear a soft giggle from afar...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Two weeks passes by.
I finished reading ‘Magic for novices and intermediates’. ‘Kingdoom of Thklet’. ‘Training book with sword masteries’. Though I did try to read the '???' book but it didn't open. 'Seems likely that it needs a key to open or
it has some kind of requirement to be fullfiled to be opened.
Anyway, I gained 3 levels killing some rabbits and deer here and there. Gained stats points training with the guidance of the Training book. Some Skill leveled up a few levels. And gained addicional skills, skills of Sword Art. And gained skills related to magic while training magic too combined with the sword. I did quite the intense training. I don't want to die because of being careless or weak. So I mentally trained too. But this
just the begining. There are still more things to learn. I won't grow complacent.
Here is my current status and skills.
Though only if the level of the skill is higher than the item.
I discovered that leveling up doesn't do anything to the stats. Maybe its a way to measure someones power.
Well, while training with the sword and magic.'I can do some basic things, though I tried some other metods I read about in my world. They come more effective than the normal one, like throwing some fireball(too common). And Identification skill I obtained it through giving HARD looks to some objects.'
Like I said before, training do improve your stats points. It takes time and effort.
I did encounter some Bears in the forest that I gained 14 lvls later on when I was bored of the minor stuff. Though they didn't put a fight because I backstab+stealth them right in the neck. Dealing massive Critical damage+paralisis poison( I ideantified some plants, and found some endible and poisonous ones). Then I hit vital points in the body of the bears with a sword.
Like the eyes, the joints, and more hits to the head than the body.
There were those suspicious *rumbles* from before, and the frightening girly giggles in my back.
The *rumbles* comes from time to time. I doesn't move from his spot. But still it gives me some curiosity as
to what it was. I decided to go in there to investigate at the end of the second week. Abandoning my made up shelter. Made of wood and leaves. it has stone floor. And a improvised bed of fur, of the bears. I made some clothes with the bears fur too. And burned the ravaged clothes. The swords were deteriorating so I started to think that maybe I need to train Hand-to-Hand combat skill too. What would happen if a lose my
Swords, and Mana depleted.
The giggles comes when I do some stupid things, and my misfortunes.
Like the first time I encountered a bear, I acted rashly and without thinking attacked it head on.
I nearly died, leving me with only 50 healt points, but it was not that, that I nearly died. When it was going
to die He called for his friends with a *roar*.
I nearly pissed in my pants that time, a group of 20 bears is no joke matter while being low lvl. They probably where lvl 10~15.
They chased me whole hour before giving up when I got the brilliant idea of jumping in the air and made Mana shield with plataform forms. Jumping from block to block of mana shields. I got that idea from books.
Though in life and death times, you will overcome the difficulties with whatever comes to mind first.
Later I got my revenge with the bears, as you now know, how I kill them.
Well back to the giggles. I tried searching the source of it. But ended it with no results. I triend talking to it,
but it seems i doesn't want to come out no matter what I did.
This narrative has been purloined without the author's approval. Report any appearances on Amazon.
So I ended up talking more with Rocky who don't go away when I talk to him. The giggles intensifies when I do that. 'I chalked it up as my Insanity, probably some more weeks and I'll gain a skill of it'.
I tried fighting with the sword and magic at the same time, it puts me some mental burden, while concentrating where to attack, evade, deflect, defend, cast magic. It needs more training for me become more profficient in it. I didn't oneshot everything for the sake of battle experience. Only if needed.
Casting magic is somehow overpowered, I can oneshot kill with the current level of my skills but the lvl of the mobs I killed where low, I wondered how it will be with higher level. Though I triend condensing the mana in one point,the tip of my finger, while pointing at my target, the head of a bear. I shot a beam like magic condenced, and the bear dropped dead the next second my magic hit the target. Hit points green colored didn't appear because it died to fast!.
I tried casting magic in different ways, like making a orb of mana shield inside of the bear before expanding it, the bear didn't stand a chance, while his inside where crushed by it, and the skin of the bear expanding like a ball. Doing the same but the location in the head, you can guess how gruesome it was.
There were infinite ways of using magic! I felt like flying with that discovery.
But like I said before, I triend no oneshoting my opponents for battle experience.
Though I experimented every time I got the chance.
Body enhancement through magic turned out to be a success. You can guess what the uses where no?
You don't? Well I'll tell you, enhancing my whole body and the sword (infusing everything with mana), increases my strenght, agility, speed, damage, and body defense or in other words resilence. It made the sword more durable. That why it didn't break.
I tried enhancing the clothes I made but it only gives them more resilence or temporary increased defense.
I wanted them to be permanent but it just didn't work, I thought there was something missing.
Like in some games I played where item enhancement needed some kind of magical stones or something to store mana inside or maybe the material must be of higher quality?, meh.
Thats what I had gone through these two weeks. Now the present.
Its the begining of the next week.
I woke up like I normaly do, some hard training at dawn, leaving me sweeting, then took a bath, ate something. Then meditate and do magical practice. Though today I cut it short, today I was supposed to go and sate my curiosity, investigating what the *rumbles* were.
I stored everything in my inventory including the shelter, a mobile shelter how convenient. I can store almost anything. I say almost because I still didn't use it with living things or other things. A thought ocurred to me that if it is able to absorbe magical attacks and store them in the void, and like that pull it off and summon it into reality throwing back the magic. But there is no way to use it because it needs to be experimented with a partner. The partner casting spells at me then suck them up into the inventory or void.
It was an interesting thought. But for now, I start to walk straight to the stranges *rumbles*. When I reach the entrance to the forest, I use stealth, then I made my way through the forest.
Avoiding unnecessary trouble.
I never ventured to deep. In the entrance where deers and rabbits, 10 minutes walk inside, where bear. And now I walked like 1 hour and encountered other type of animals/beasts/monsters(whatever). They where Satyres, with calf like legs with fur in the lower body, nude from the waist to the neck, furred head(brown color of the fur), with protunding horns from the sides of his head, with ugly face.
I enhanced my eyes with mana and applied the skill indentification too (don't ask me, no idea how to explain it). Then get to see their description and level of the individual I was observing.
Satyr lvl 27
Satyres, they live in the forest Tryaj.
They live in groups of 5~10. Be aware the they use stealth,
to stalk and kill their prey. They are weak alone, but their number makes it up.
The HP doesn't display because there are mutiple variables and I cannot be certain of how it really works.
The bears don't die right way because they have powerfull will power(persistence). So only if I shot their head off they'll instantly. Maybe the number colored damage is just a joke or an error somehow.
I observed my sorroundings, spotting here and there where the satyres were, and planing on how to kill them. Silently; Stalking them and dealing backstab very quickly then going stealth again. Fast; One shooting
with magic. Or go straight and attack them head on, taunting them to gain combat exp.
While pondering about what to do, I spotted a strange satyre, with red colored fur, with some clothes over his right shoulder ending in the left of his waist, and a cane/staff with a black crystal at the top, and demonic eyes. He was walking to a group of satyres, the spoked some ordes to them. Those satyres stood in attention until he arrived and talked, then the rushed to the complete those orders.
'Well minus 3 satyres, 6 remaining satyres plus one strange satyr. I think I'll kill him first...'
I silently approached the red one with stealth, while readying my magic in case things where to go to shit.
When I'm at his back pulling my sword near his neck, He faces me jumping backwards as if it felt my presences or some of my killing intent slipped away.
While momentarily stunned at his reaction, I come back to my senses ringing warning belts in my head, telling me to kill it fast or I will be having an unwanted party.
I swing my sword at his neck while shooting a beam of condenced mana at his heart. But it was too late. It cried/shouted, and it was all it took to warn all the satyrs of my presence.
I killed the bastard, and faced the impending group of satyres.
They sorrounded me right away. I willed myself to not kill them with condenced mana, because it took a large amount of mana. 175 mana points. I don't have enough to kill them all but a number of them.
Though in case something unexpected happened, having reserves of mana to run away will be plan B.
'Then for now fighting them with body enhancement and relying on my swords skills'.
......
...
.
Ten minutes later, some scraches here and there, 6 satyres plus red colored satyr later.
I collect the cane/staff of the red satyr. And inspect it.
Tjidd black Cane. Magical.
A cane Infused with dark magic, and souls of the dead.
Story
???(not that you care about it, chalk it up as made by a unknown dude :D).
Benefits:
+25 Int.
+20% mana recovery.
+20% speed casting.
Storing it away, I began walking away from there. I didn't inspect the red one because I can guess as He was a general or elder with some weird name that I don't need to know.( tell you what, I'm lazy )
Still going to investigate the unknown source of noises, encountering groups of satyres left and right, killing
them all. Gaining exp, and some common, uncommon, magical items that where useless for me. Like more staff of unknown dude.
2 hours later while eating some snaks. I reached my destination. A cave...
