Hello dear reader,

I would like to thank you for visiting this writathon project.

The primary aim of this story is to meet the criteria of the writathon: 55,555 written in 5 weeks. While I will be writing extremely quickly, I want to produce the highest quality fiction I can at this breakneck speed. This gives me only one or two editing passes on any given chapter before posting. If you see any errors in spelling, grammar, or phrasing, please let me know in the comments. I will try to fix them as soon as I can. Similarly, at this speed, I will mostly create internal errors, such as inconsistencies of place and character. If those are made, I ask for your forgiveness.

As a writer of post-apocalyptic fiction, I have been influenced by a number of artistic works, including the Fallout series of video games, the Metro 2033 book series, and the Mad Max films. Other influential works include A Canticle for Leibowitz by Walter Miller Jr., and On the Beach by Nevil Shute.

While I pull from numerous source materials, I will try to create a unique world where our protagonist will struggle to survive the harsh realities of the post-apocalypse.
