Injung was a planned addition to Rylan's team. They were not supposed to be the main character, but damn the dice those rats rolled well and Rylan's only attack roll was a natural 1. Injung is a little different as she's not a generated character. Instead she's a main character from her own series that was never written. Not only will I give her back story, but also her origin story as a character.
Injung was originally conceived as a character for her own book, Jak Injung. She was kidnapped from her home in an absolute shit hole of a country and sold to slavers. A fellow slave told her they'd make a distinction for her when she went up for bidding. She was told to run to the foreign trade docks and to beg for work on the first ship she could find with a fire emblem on its flag. She did this, and found herself among a Fire Islander trade ship. She would spend the next two years at sea with a drastically different culture. The book would have mostly been a fantasy retelling of 'Two Years Before the Mast' and I quickly lost interest. The planned sequel, 'Merc Injung', would have been more original and followed Injung as she navigated the life of an adventure on land in a country that mistook her for a tiefling.
Injung was brought back from the dead corners of books I’ll never write to feature in the opening scene for a D&D campaign that never started. In this version she was part of a slave ship, and by that I mean she wasn't technically with the crew, but neither was she a slave. She could easily be convinced to free the players so they could take the ship. If she survived, the PCs would have an NPC capable of sailing.

Injung's backstory for this game. Injung was kidnapped from a semi large city near the Anorian coastline and sold to slavers running trade to foreign countries. In an incident of mistaken identity, the slave ship was captured by pirates. The slaves were “Freed” for the time that they were at sea, where Injung took to learning how to sail. Once at Port, the formerly freed slaves were rounded up, and sold. Except Injung who at that point had already been inducted as a Jak, a low ranking sailor. Injung would be treated fairly well over the next year or so until the ship was captured by pirate hunters. Due to testimonials from the now executed crew, Injung avoided being hanged.
Unwelcome in a strange land, Injung stayed with the ship until it was sold at auction to a group of state approved slave traders. Injung came with the ship as "part of the rigging". She wasn't particularly well treated by this crew over the year and a half she sailed with them, though her lot was better than that of the slaves. Ever increasing threats of physical and sexual abuse would lead her to freeing a particularly capable bunch. She was then dropped off on the Sawtooth Islands with a small sack of all her worldly possessions, some basic instructions, and a note.
Injung is an established character so I'm going to move whatever stats she gets into Attributes that make sense. Dump Stat will be Charisma as she is not fluent in the language.
STR 11
DEX 17
CON 17
INT 14
WIS 18
CHA 8
There is the generated stats with race bonus added to DEX. She happens to be a Commoner level 2, so a roll of 2 will give her 14 HP. Rylan had 9 for comparison. She will have Profession sailor and a full 5 silver. So not broke like Ryland was.
