1-Nightmares
Their we are...alone together.
The dream always start this way. It always start out so pleasant at first.
We are lying alone together. We're wrapped in the finest of silk sheets, of my four poster bed, the duvet and pillows long ago tossed aside in our previous night of passion. The bed we are sharing is more them big enough for the two of us to spread out, but to spite that fact we are curled up together in a tight ball in the middle. Cuddling closely. She is the big spoon, encircling me and protecting me with the warmth of her tone muscular body.
Up to that moment we had spent almost every day together for the last seven years. She had been a fixture in my life since she had been assigned to me. Her standing a constant vigil over me everyday, as a quiet sort of strength propping me up and pushing me forward. Offering kind word and stoic smiles.
I can recollect the gentile creaking of the open balcony window. It shifted in the light summer wind. The early morning sun shinning in, just beginning to warm the cool tiles of the room. I know that I should have shut the window behind her last night, but after she crawled into the room, we had been too districted to take care of such a minor thing.
Oh! How foolish of me to think no one would notice or catch on. It was a matter of time.
The fresh sweet smell of the apricots fruits blown in on the mild morning breeze, tickling my nose. They we a luxury, one of the only plants to have survived the harsh journey from the dark universe that had abandoned to the flickering darkness. I would often enjoy them with cream for breakfast when I was a child.
Oh! How I missed their taste, but now they are hundreds of light years away, from my self imposed exile.
Her arms, strong and meaty, pulling me tightly into her body as she dozed. Her breaths tickling the fine hairs on the nape of my neck, and then in a flash it all ended.
Screaming and yelling announce the approach. It was so so sudden. Knights of House Urkanlan rushed down the opulent halls. The plates of there armor rattling and making a clamor as they approach my private suite. The scene shifts suddenly and we are torn from each other. Ripped away with no though or mercy. I am surrounded by hand maids and armored figures. Their presents surrounding me like Corey's had, but instead of the warmth and light of a summer love, it is a suffocating mass that bares down on me. Stifling my breath and dulling my reactions. The room is made darker by the towering shadows of the interlopers, as they wash over my small form. My eyes are red and bleary from the combination of tears and having just been roused from my comfort by the unwelcomed intruders of my house's knights.
I am hyperventilating in shock as I take in the scene. I am know outside myself for some reason. This is it this is the moment of control where I am aware that I am having a vivid dream. The moment that I could change things if not for my train to just observe. To look for the signs. To see beyond the all to familiar nightmare.
The scene resumes, and I see myself standing in the chill of the room wrapped in the bed sheets, while she, my everything has been cast down to the floor. Stepped on. Naked and being held down by a half dozen of my father's men. Man handled until she can no long resist.
She looks up into my face and mouths a few words, but the message blurs for a second and I only catch a brief amount of words. They appear to be.
"Endure.....Death.....Safe.....Wreckage."
Her screams of rage ring out a new, as she resumes her attempts to struggle free. She is roaring in impudent rage, but the sound more like that of the screech of an alarm. and that is when I awake for the second time.
---
The cabin is small and I fall out of bed bashing my head, as I roll from my single sized bed. I was greeted by my spartan room abord the Brunnhilde. The lights were red, something had triggered the sensor array, but what I did not know.
I knew the dream that I just had was important, but for the moment I didn't know how, so I filed it away as I head up to the bridge in my skives to check the readings.
The whole ship shook as I was thrown into the bulkhead.
Okay, so either something struck the ship or vis versa. In either case it was loud a the sound of something scrapping against the hull joined the ringing of the alarm. My head pounding from the prophecy of my dream combined with the sounds was like I was living in the world of a hundred hang overs. My head throbbed and I lost my momentum as I began to climb the latter to the bridge.
Upon entering the bridge I struck the big red shut off button to end the screeching, but the nails on the chalk board sound of the hull being scrapped continued.
Sitting at the controls, I move the stick and righted the vessel in its flight steering the ship away from some huge whitish obstacle that filled the viewing screens. While it had been a horrific sound the hull seemed to have only taken minor damage. Starting up the long range sensors I decided to try to find out what I had hit.
I had been following an uncharted path between the settlement of Unna and Kara in the Hollows Crossing Sector.
The readings were strange and as I looked out I was viewing a huge curved that was was the white of bones, and pot marked with impact craters from where meteors had struck the structure.
I was looking out on what must have been the rib of some colossal creature the likes of which I had never seen or read about. Back when I had been chained to my house I had always stuck to proper manors, but now that I was out here in space, all on my own, nothing held back my tong.
"DAMN!" was all I could say.
