The goblins stopped just shy of the carriage. Horses neighed and stopped.
I causally walked out of the carriages to greet our king goblin friends. “Out for revenge?” I said.
“You,” one of them attempted.
Goblins couldn’t talk. No, they couldn’t talk in human tongue. I probably couldn’t either. But as I absorbed people, I also absorbed their language abilities. I suppose absorbing one human a day was the way to go after all.
Still, I’d come a long way. In about a week, the awkward feeling would leave and I’d be able to fully access all information again!
The other goblin sat down. Crossed legged. Seeing his partner sit, this one also sat. None of the girls got out. Too scared, I guess? No wait, Sen did come out.
Both king goblins stood at least twice my height, even after sitting down. I was in my female body, sure. But I was still close to 1.7 Meters! It was actually on the taller side for this world.
“We not come for revenge,” the left king goblin said. Both looked the same to me.
“Then?”
“We… want help.”
“Help?”
“Yes, help.”
“Help, how?”
“Make… home.”
“Home?”
“Yes. Make…. Home.”
“No, I got that part. How would I make your home? Actually, why should I make your home?”
“You… dungeon master.”
“Yeah, I ate your dungeon master.”
“No. You. Dungeon master.”
“Me?”
“You.”
Felt like I was having a conversation with a five-year-old. No even those conversations are more sophisticated.
“I’m going on a journey. Even if let’s say, I made you a home, I can’t be here and it’ll all go to shit. I don’t have nearly enough MP to-”
The right king goblin dropped a chest. A treasure chest. I had no idea where he even produced it from but he just dropped the damn thing here like a boss. I hadn’t seen a single one in this world so far. I’d seen a lot of treasures, but not chests.
If you encounter this narrative on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
The chest dropped with a clang and I could have sworn there was plenty of stuff inside. It had the typical red and gold pattern and my gamer brain really wanted to open it right now!
“Take gem. Make home!”
“I almost feel bad for them,” Sen said.
“You understand goblins?” I said.
“Well, I am one of them.”
“You’re a goblin?”
Had this weird conversation rotted her brain?
“What, no!” she rolled her eyes. “I’m a ‘demi’ human. Part human, part wolf. But it is believed my wolf side was a monster race and that’s why I can understand them.”
“I don’t understand that one bit and I don’t really care either.”
“Hmph,” she frowned. “Are you going to help them or what?”
“Can’t have kings roaming about,” I said. “I’ll take your treasure, but can’t make promises whether I can build you a home or if it’ll even last. Frankly, I have no obligation to help you and I don’t want to either.” But I couldn’t say no to the devastatingly juicy prospect of opening a treasure chest!
Such delicate hinge. Such beautiful carvings. Such magnificence!
What is in there?
Diamonds?
Rubies?
Jadeites!?
Manatite…. Sigh. It was just a bunch of Manatite crystals. A tad bigger than the stuff I was used to and somewhat violet looking but the very same, the very-
No… this was different.
I absorbed one.
[Pure Manatite Absorbed!]
[Magic increased]
[Max MP Increased]
Not only did I recover 50 MP my max MP increased by 10!
“Okay good sirs, you have my attention!”
“Who the hell is she even talking to?” Josie said, yawning. “Woah, king goblins!”
I ignored her and absorbed a bunch more crystals while I tried casting Stop (lv1).
I could easily stop time, and since I wasn’t draining my MP completely, I didn’t feel the throbbing headache… yet.
My MP stopped growing after the fifth stone. I still recovered MP though.
Stop spell leveled up to Lv2 and now I could to stop time for a whopping 1.1 seconds….
I can do this. Hey Bestiary, how do I use the dungeon master’s skills?
Bestiary: I thought you didn’t need my help?
Well, someone was mad. Apparently, I told her I was going to spend the night with her and ask about the world and all that stuff. But I forgot. No, it wasn’t that I forgot I was just weirdly occupied that night….
Nope, you’re super important to me.
Bestiary: Hmph… You can only use Dungeon Master skills in a newly hatched dungeon due to your low Magic stat and MP.
But where will I find the nearest dungeon? Oh wait, that village.
“We’re changing courses,” I said. “Head for a village that way.”
“I thought it was destroyed by some giant slime monster,” Josie said, pausing, taking a glance at me. “Umm… Clau- Clyde… what were you doing last week?”
“Having fun times with Sen,” I said, giving her tail a stroke.
“Mmmhh…” She almost moaned. Almost because she made sure to not let out any sound. There was still a sound though, however muffled. “Don’t tease me!” She pouted. “If you keep doing this… I might do things to you too…” she managed. “And if you don’t finish what you start, I might run off to other people like the last time…”
I closed in on her, blowing in her ear. “Your tail belongs to me. Go screw whoever you want, do whatever you want. But your tail’s mine. And I’ll use it however and whenever it pleases me. Got it?”
Soft fluffy tail; I kept stroking her, and this time vigorously!
“Ah!” She squeaked, falling on her bottom. She frowned but with a rather embarrassed expression.
“Just so you know,” Josie said. “She was only putting up a front. We both got rejected by the elves…”
“Huh? And why didn’t you tell me?”
Wasn’t she looking all pleased and… So basically, she just did all by herself.
She sighed. “I told her not to… I wanted you to be a bit jealous but,” Sen sniffled.
“Oh please,” I shrugged, petting her head. “Get on!” She got on. And that left the goblins. “Follow our carriage. As I said, there’s no guarantee but I’ll try.”
The goblins started following us and we headed for the village. It was a good thing there wasn’t anyone around these parts. All villages destroyed and not many people crossed borders at this time of the year. So yeah, all the better for us.
