Chapter 1: The encrypted message

The cryptic message crackled through the radio sound stereos. The voice we all heard in that small makeshift tent was soft, calming even. It was unsettlingly so. While we were deep in the midst of war that could break out at any moment, here was a encrypted message that we had managed to intercept from behind enemy lines. It was rightfully property of the enemy and we had managed to steal their information by intercepting it through various ingenious means.

Cracking the code was not easy. It was full of jargon and technical terms that would stumble even the most hardened of war experts. The commanders hold their bated breath as they look out through the tiny open slit of window that you would see on military tents.

But it was not all doom and no sunshine. The paradise of yester years were still a dream that could be reached with enough time and effort. Thus, the expedition and road to Rome began. What started out as a simple conflict ballooned into a thousand year war. Such was the nature of human beings, to complicate even the most uncomplex of fights, meaningless even perhaps to full scale battle conflicts that involved tanks, grenades, rockets, nuclear weapons, aid being restricted and water sources being confound to wells in the ground. It was a sad state of affairs and yet that was likely none of your business too. Because it was their fight and their battle - which has raged on for a thousand years without stopping. I highly doubted the forty days of silence would end at just a proclamation of truce that were messily agreed upon in days. Humans remained humans, our fears, our dreams, our hopes for a brighter future...
